Definitely for an older crowd. But the drinks were delicious and the burger was cooked perfectly
The Blue Note is a very intimate setting and consistently gets high quality acts to perform. This is a lounge style venue. Everyone gets a comfortable seat and table with fantastic views of the stage. Ticket prices range from acceptable to expensive depending on the act and there is also a $10 minimum per seat. But dont worry, the food is great, and drinks are expertly mixed. This is a must go to venue if your favorite artist is playing.
Went to Ukulele Picnic. Wow, did not know an ukulele could be played like that! The venue is pretty small and intimate with a view of the stage from every seat. Good sound system and acoustics. Ticket prices reasonable, the ticket fees are high but seems there is no way around that any more. Drinks expensive but good, food was good (worth buying), wait staff attentive, friendly and efficient. We will return for sure.
What a great night for our first trip to the Blue Note. We got there at 5 picked up our tickets at the desk and waited for about 2 minutes before the doors opened. We sat down right away and picked a booth in front of the stage. Its community seating but we got lucky and ended up just being the 2 of us. It wasnt packed completely but just right, people got up and danced and enjoyed the great reggae stylings of Black Uhuru. But lets get back to the beginning we started off with some drinks and than ordered food. The Hawaiian dip was good, just enough seasoning so when you dip in the sauce its just right and my fries were nice and crispy just like I asked for. The crab Ruben was good for the wife just a little too much bread but still good flavor and worthy of ordering again. The dirty Martini was strong and well poured so dont worry most of your hard earned dollars are being well spent. The opening singer was good she sang 2 songs and than Black Uhuru came out and rocked it. It was a great performance full of energy. An overall great experience and cant wait for the next one.
The ambiance of the place was nice. The music provided was good. It has nice acoustics in the place. The food and drinks were over priced. In my experience, the food and drinks were close to or were double the prices you would typically pay at other restaurants. The service was a little slow despite having a button to alert the waiter serving you.
Ive been to the Blue Note quite a few times over the last few years, and this place never disappoints.Whether youre here for the music, the laughs, or for an intimate night with your partner, you cannot go wrong by spending it at the Blue Note.If youre of age, I recommend a sazerac to set the mood, followed by dinner at your table. Be sure to drop by the shop right outside the entrance to grab a souvenir (and to validate parking), or one of Oahu Gear Companys latest lids.
Always a nice spot to go and listen to music! I always order their cheese platter but this time it was just orange slices and no grapes. Grapes kinda makes a difference. Especially when eating in the dark or low lighting. One negative though, we didnt get small dishes or silverware, yes its a cheese platter, but its a lot neater to have your own little dish to eat off of instead of off the cheese platter itself in the dark with your date. Definitely no class or Grace for that, come one now, the price you charge for entrance and then the platter itself, can we get some small dishes and silverware with our food please?
If youre visiting the island and have money to burn, this is a great spot. They have great service and a wide variety of performances. As a local, its way too expensive and right in the middle of Waikiki, where unless you live or work there is to be avoided if possible.
Lots of great musicians from Hawaii and the mainland play here. Table seating is spread out with a lot of the tables to the sides where the view is not great. First come first serve, so come early and consider paying for the premium seats so you can sit in the middle. $10 per person minimum food and drink order. If youre a non-drinker, their food menu is kind of limited.
You dont go for the food. The menu is limited. The bao buns were hard and dry. We shared a burger. Both of us noticed at least one bite that tasted off and a little old. I wont order the pizza with BBQ and ranch dressing again.
This venue is awesome. I love the intimacy of it. However, the prices of the food and drink are astronomical. The doors open 2 hours before show time, so if you want a good seat, you have to get there early. And then you might as well eat to kill some time, because you definitely didnt have time to eat beforehand. Its a nice date night venue for sure.
Ive been here for several concerts and I love how intimate the venue is. The sound system is sufficient. The drinks are decent. Typically priced for Waikiki. The food is good. I havent had a bad meal yet. I absolutely love how perfectly cooked my truffle fries are all the time! If there is a performer you like playing here, I would definitely recommend this venue!
Wow, the fact that a lot of folks living in Hawaii dont have to fly out to see the amazing people that perform here makes Blue Note a tremendous value. Been here many times and love the venue for its seating and sound. Ive never been disappointed with a show there. Well worth the cost to see world renowned talented artists share their craft. The food and drinks may be a few dollars pricier than what you may expect but its good and I feel like the premium is more of a contribution than penalty to keep business going and I hope they continue to do so.
Venue is awesome. Saw WAR, may not be the originals, but they were very entertaining and sounded great.. I would see them again at this venue. Our food wasnt great for the price. Our server hardly came around. Eat someplace else and come enjoy your concert. $10 minimum order on food or drinks.
I was very disappointed with the seating. I bought VIP Tickets and they wouldnt let us sit at a booth because we couldnt share (which they state you cannot reserve a booth for yourself - its all community). If Id known that, I would have bought cheaper tickets. The service was super slow only enough time for 2 drinks for the entire show. The band was great! but nowhere to dance. You basically come here, sit in a chair and watch passively. Nothing like the OG blue note in NYC from back in the day! this is a tourist trap spot with zero charm from the original. 5 stars for the band, minus 4 for the location.
Unimpressed and over priced, tourist trap! Small area, limited seating and limited bar. Doesnt carry a full variety of beers and cant even carry a decent selection of diet soda products. Staff friendly, but why not when a 10 ounce mix drink is $15,,, Prices exceed Vegas,, hey Blue Note,, your not Vegas!Charging full price for bar seats and standing only when both are limited is sad and pathetic. Seats and standing are around garbage cans and waiter counters. Then again,,like stated,, tourist trap! Definitely not Kama aina!
Amazing venue! I enjoyed every minute of the intimate concert. The waitress was phenomenal too!
We will start up with me searching the user reviews on food items; user reviews are not very flattering. My wife and I did not see much that looked appetizing and at the prices they were asking, we werent trying to risk it. These types of places arent usually known for their food. Ill say that the garlic fries did look appetizing though. We arrived to pick up our tickets at the front desk and were received by the worst receptionist I can recall having. He was rude, he hurried me (there was absolutely no line), and not helpful at all. I felt like I wasnt asking stupid questions and as it was my first time visiting Blue Note, I wouldnt inherently know the ins and outs of checking in.The service was decent on the inside. The layout was better. That is really what you are there for. The layout was set up for you to sit where you wanted within your ticket group. There are two classes of tickets, one group sitting on the floor next to the stage up until the barrier where the slightly cheaper tickets reside. The floor is set so you have a strong likelyhood of sitting next to strangers, which is great considering you both came for the same thing. The show was good. I cant say that I recognized more than the one song that made the charts (rebirth of slick) but the base, guitar and keyboard background music was excellent. They seemed to have a great deal of audio concerns as the group kept on signaling back to the rear. I suppose this is to be expected as it was the first show of their first night. Overall it was a great experience, but Blue Note was just mediocre.
I love that there is stadium seating in this intimate venue which allows everyone to get a nice view of the stage. No photography is generally allowed during the shows so be prepared to stay very present in the moment. Seating is first come, first serve and be prepared to share your booth if its a popular show. Food is good and arrives quickly. Staff is excellent at checking in/ moving about without being intrusive during a performance
Blue Note is an intimate music venue with a mx crowd of 250 people. There are really no ba seats in the house. I have seen numerous groups and comedians there, and its always good. Food is decent. $10 minimum per person. There are areas for each ticket level, but seating is first come first served. Get there early for popular artists, so you can get a good seat. We saw The Wailers last night. Incredible show! Donald Kinsleys rendition of Jonny B. Goode brought the house down...
Overall kinda over priced but a nice experience none the less. Table service could be more attentive
Perfect Pitch @ Blue Note - Last night we saw “WellRED: From Dixie with Love”, starring Trae Crowder. Blue Note was the perfect venue for the program. It is small and intimate - just the right size - with nary a bad seat. The length of the program was also just right at 90 minutes. And, the location is great - smack in the center of Waikiki. There are three ticket pricing levels: Premium, Loge and Bar. We picked the premium seats to be closer to the stage. But, be advised, the premium price entitles you to an area of the venue and not an actual seat; so, I recommend you arrive early for the best seating. The food menu has both small plates and dinner entrees. There is a full bar. We found splitting a salad, getting a couple of small plates and a bottle of wine to be the most economical (the prices are reasonable for Waikiki - which means a tad on the high side). We’ve been to Blue Note three times and the service has always been great. We will be back.
Love the intimacy of the place but Azure McCall on 12/23 was a bust. Not sure if she was losing her voice or not but I basically listened to over an hour of raspy singing and a poor attempt and being a comedian. A waste of good $$$
This place is very nice, dark and the room lights up with a warm blue but enough light to see well but it diffenlty sets the mood. the entertainment was fabulous and the crowd is older.
Sat right next to the stage and had a wonderful time. Excellent location to hear live music.
Food was especially good....tender beef and desserts....the service spot on...accidentally bought tickets for later show but they accommodated for early show....
Vanessa Williamz was hands down amazing. Sitting in VIP you literally can see and touch her. The concert was amazing.
We saw Wayne Brady over the weekend and we were seated on the far side on the floor. Unfortunately, we could only see the backup singers the entire show, minus one song. It was frustrating to pay the same as people in the front while having terrible seats with no view whatsoever. It also took forever for a server to take our orders and get our food and drinks to us. We also realized too late that if theres something going on on Kalakaua, the valet parking isnt available so get there early to find parking somewhere else.
Great venue, every seat a good view, great sound system, comfortable. Group of old friends met up for a show there and enjoyed immensely. Varied snack choices, I went for ice cream. We had a memorable time.
Great atmosphere, and service.. A bit pricey, but compensate, for concert and enjoyment!.. Highly, recommended!!!
The venue is meh, without the greatest acoustics. All the seats are in an amphitheater like setup so at least youll be able to glimpse the show youre seeing, however if youre a party of 2 then youll probably be placed at the end of a party of fours table so they kind of squish you in and have you stare at strangers you didnt pay to see as well as the show. Oh and they charge a 10$ minimum per person (as in if you order nothing, they charge you 10$ per person). The food is decent for being pre-prepared but not worth the money at all.
Really great intimate space!
Great musical acts in an intimate setting. Decent food and drinks with nice wait staff. Get there early for the best seats.
It was formerly the live entertainment night spot for the Don Ho Show and other groups, but was more recently converted to Honolulu’s Blue Note with nightly music concerts and live sessions by an unprecedented array of top entertainment performers from both today and from years passed. I’ve been in Honolulu twice recently to be able to attend live performances by Jake Shimabukuro, the renowned ukulele virtuoso, and more recently a great performance by all-time folk and pop singer, Judy Collins, whose voice and basic appearance have not really changed even after more than fifty years of singing on stage and in recordings.NOTE: I was a bit disappointed by the fact that, while I had paid for VIP seating ($75) and which was specifically described online at the time of ticket purchase, which included being invited to ‘meet & greet’ Miss Collins on the evening of the Feb 28, 2020 performances, it turned out that Judy Collins had never been previously informed about this arrangement, and that she evidently had declined.Contrary to the facts, the Blue Note management refused to acknowledge at all that any such advertisement of the Meet & Greet had ever taken place. The couple seated next to me had made the same ticket purchase for the same reason, so I am sure I was not mistaken, despite being told repeatedly by the Blue Note management that there had never been ANY mention of such an opportunity for Meet & Greer, even it a a fairly common practice for many of their other regular entertainers. Happily, that moment of ‘fake news’ or bad public relations will not prevent me from returning again and again to see other great performances. The food and drinks menu offers a wide assortment of entrees and delicious cocktails. I ordered my usual ‘caipirinha’ — Brazil’s national (alcoholic) drink. The basic recipe is incredibly simple, requiring just three ingredients: a simple fruit and sugar mixture, usually crushed limes, topped with a shot of liquor, which is usually cachaça, the Brazillian take on rum that distills fresh sugar cane juice. The servings are quite ample and can easily be plenty for two people.
Love the intimate atmosphere of the place. The stage & sound system is superb. This is the place to ho to see ur favorite artists perform! I truly love that I can finally see & hear & see the great artists perform in a first class atmosphere.
They have great shows here, good drinks and pupus. Sound is really good.
I love this club! The atmosphere, the food and most of all the MUSIC! I check the website out weekly to see what Artist is playing. One of the best things to be living here on Oahu.
Fantastic place great meals. Service too. Show was great.
Nicely updated since last there. Good food and great music by Air Supply!
Very intimate settings. Good views close views of entertainment. Caution, the food is extremely overpriced and nothing special about it. Id eat elsewhere beforehand and just enjoy the entertainment with friends over a couple of drinks.
I loved the venue size. Intimate without being cramped. The service was great. I flew over from Maui to see Jane Monheit perform. A big thing for drivers to know is that the valet entrance can be concealed by walking tourists very easily. Be in the right most lane a little bit before the GPS ends. Hopefully they can put some reflective paint down. The food was great, and expensive, but its Waikiki. One request, Blue Note; please dont use salad topping parmesan cheese on the cheese platter. Yes, its the fancy, big flakes, but its also a pain to grab and nibble. Small wedges like everything else would be nice.
Amazing place to see a show! Saw Rufus Wainwright there.
I went to a great comedy show there today for my birthday.. my food that I order before the show started came out roughly 45 minutes later during the main act... I was given the correct check but when I was charged I was charged the wrong amount.. the hostess accept responsibility and brought her manger as I requested.. I asked the manger for a discount due to the hostess negligence and the manager refused telling me “I don’t deserve a discount because her employee made a mistake” I’m not sure how the management is trained to handle disputes but this was not the correct way...
Great venue... up close and personal
VIP area right next to stage awesome
Awesome venue, good food, awesome view from any seat. Fun times with friends.
They are the best of the best not only because I play there, but because I play there!! If Im working, they take care of me. If Im just listening, drinking, and dining, they take care of me. The music is always spot on, the food is great, and the service is timely and friendly. Its a really good vibe!
Had a fabulous time. Good food, great entertainment. Best to go right to the venue store to purchase tickets. We purchased from our hotel and they sold us 4 tickets to a show that was not. Just by chance we went to the venue store and it came up we had tickets for a particular show. They told us there were not two shows that day. We then had to go back to the hotel and spend another hour or so waiting in line and getting it corrected.
The Singing group War was very good
Jeff Goldblum last night was a great show, perfect venue to see him in.
Just saw the Chris Botti show. The show was outstanding. The venue is nice and the food is good. Pricey, but that comes with the territory. Get there early ( as in when they open) to get the best seating.
The Blue Note Club in Hawaii was superb! The atmosphere was good. I met a very nice couple. Best of all, Dionne Warwick was awesome. Shes aging gracefully!
Grrat Show last night! Celebrated my wifes birthday and had a blast with Michael Lingston and Ray Parker Jr.
The show (Chris Botti) was fantastic, the service staff was prompt and attentive. The food was so so (veg no cooked right almost raw). They could also use better padding on their seats.
Where else can you hear live acoustic music up close in an intimate setting? Blue Note Waikiki. Its fun to stay after the concert and converse with the musicians!
Fun atmosphere, good service, more personal than a larger venue.
Beautiful restaurant and tasty food. Pricey but having live music makes it pretty worth it.We saw Jeff Goldblum play jazz here and what an amazing show it was!! We sat right in front of him and he chatted with lots of us, it was awesome!Oh and try the French Onion Soup, trust me, its delicious!
I arrived early and got a great seat ctr stage loge. However the floor of the loge area is built on a plywood platform and you can feel everyone walking back and forth through the entire show. The venue is way more wide than deep so 75% chance your loge seat will be looking from the side of the stage. Being a small club at least youll be close up to the performers. I liked the annoucement to keep conversation down to a whisper. I definitely would go back for quality performers despite the drawbacks.
Great intimate venue with a lot of good shows on the lineup
Best Maxi Priest concert I have been to.
Great venue. Every seat/table is a good one as this is an intimate performance space. Food and cocktails were tasty and the staff was very attentive.
First experience here in Hawaii and absolutely loved it! The food was great, the service awesome, the music live and lively! This was a great night out, family friendly or perfect for a date night.
Intimate venue. Definitely not what I was expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was my first visit to any Blue Note location, but it wont be my last.
War was awesome! Really good food too
Beat-lele was playing. What a wonderful time. They brought the house down
The smell of the food was too strong, they need a better ventilation, smell like burn oil. The performance only spoke one time, he can do more interaction by introduction of songs
We went and saw local King of Swing Kahulanui play and it was foot tapping solid gold vibes. These guys were cool. The venue itself was quite large with excellent views of the stage from where ever you are. The venue reminded of the places where the rat pack used to play in Vegas. Drinks were reasonable priced and staff were happy and friendly
An incredible place to experience intimate live music. Worth paying for VIP tickets. Tables at edge of the stage or booths with unobstructed views. Food was good. Photo shot without zoom.
Fabulous cozy venue to see legendary and new musical artists.
Great atmosphere and service. The only thing not so great is the cost of drinks. Recomend having a cocktail at home before going.
Good food, good drink and cool music. We enjoyed last Hawaii night very much!
Great venue to see and hear music, not a bad sear in the house. Very good food served before and during the show. Excellent service. Tiered ticket prices, start at 75.00, which is on the expensive side.
Tim Rose was entertaining. My daughter whom is 18 n I loved the performance. The band was good too. Service very attentive n polite. Servers n bussers did not interrupt the show. Thank you for that. Definitely will go back.
Was a wonderful no place to visit for jazz lovers
The entertainment and ambiance was wonderful! The food was very good. If eating there, and on a budget, check out prices of menu on line so you know how to plan. Totally worth it! I would definitely go again.
My go to place for live music!Always entertaining me with local talent and famous musicians!
Depends on the shows obviously, but its an awesome little stage. Drinks are average, especially given their price. Food was good, but again, fairly steep on price. Its the same with all things Waikiki, I suppose. Id definitely go again, given the right showrunner.
Great range of shows and drinks. Friendly staff.
Great place for a first date. Very intimate, good food, friendly staff. Love the ambiance
Intimate venue Not a bad seat in the house. Went to Early Show tonight and had tasty prime rib, good portion great show.Spiro Gyra as good as ever.
Saw Kalapana perform. They are AWESOME! Service and atmosphere great!
Food does not deserve a 4 star rating. Excellent wait staff. Self parking options several blocks from venue. Open seating for reserved tickets. Unreasonable lack of accommodations for those with mobility issues. Some really great talent. Convenient location in Waikiki Outrigger Hotel. Romantic, clean and cozy. Nice lighting.
What a great show with Dionne Warwick! Dont order the Prime Rib though... Served cold inside, meat had a slightly sour taste and the worst Prime Rib we have ever had. The burgers were good or order a salad. Hard to screw up a salad.
Great time. You feel very close to the stage regardless of where you sit. Fantastic service too.
This place is amazing! The service is great and the music is awesome!!!
Excellent food and service. Perfect size venue.
The food and service was not good. So disappointed.
The Blue Note is the place for good music in Hawaii.Outstanding venue with excellent seating all around.Service is good, variety on the menu, and good drinksFantastic artists of all music genres come to play at the Blue Note.Excellent location in the Outrigger hotel, downtown Waikiki.
Thats a great time. A little word for such a nice venue that they didnt offer me a glass with my beer? But other than that always a good time.
A fun place to go for food, drinks, and good entertainment. Attentive service by staff.
