Kahi is a pleasant person, but beyond accepting my project, he could not get himself settled on it. Why? I gave him the materials; our prized koa wood. We agreed on a conceptual sketch of the carving and assembly. He took a sizable deposit from me to start, and then wasted time justifying scattered research. We agreed specifically to the artwork. “Just Do It”. He assured me he understood. But he was lost. Then he simply took me in circles for months with no finish in sight, Why?...to justify exhausting my deposit ? This was not about money to me. It was about picking the right Artist to grace our koa. One day I simply took my koa wood back. I thought it’s absence would allow him to conjure up a finished work. He promised samples. They never happened. We settled on a resolution. He promised me a reply. Months went by. I got nothing. He cancelled his phone number. It’s sad to me that I would be treated this way. I gave him respect. I did this man no wrong. I trusted him. What goes down, comes around. I wanted a piece of Kahi Ching artwork. Kahi wanted money. I do feel cheated. Frankly, I’m relieved. A lesson learned. And, now I don’t want a Kahi Ching art piece nor his karma around. Greg D.
