We did a documentary screening here with almost 200 people in attendance. The staff was very friendly, professional and accomadating! And the theater is spacious. Theres no cell service down there, but one doesnt need to make calls during a film, anyway!

Great little theatre now taking much of the place of the torn down Varsity Theater in Moiliili. They sell light beverages and movie snack, but no beer yet (this ain’t Vancouver Portland.) Sad thing is I always forget to check its movie listings. And as a HoMA I get a entry discount too.

Great little theater kind of tucked away behind the Academy of Arts...my Cousin, Dezmond Gilla had written, directed, and starred in a movie called, How to Spell Revenge...and our family and his friends went to watch the screening of it! He did such a great job for his first screenplay...lots of talent in our family. Hes already writing another one. Great place for up & coming Film students, Director/Producers to hold screenings like that. Quite comfortable, and they do have an Elevator down to the theater level for easier access for our elderly, and handicapable.

Small, intimate no frills art community theater..old school seating in type of seats and set up. Cute little snack shop in the foyer. Serves coffee, water, select juices and chips - limited menu...HOWEVER only place on island that serves up artistic films, international films, cultural films, documentaries, etc. ALL year round. Each month is themed with the purpose of dedicating all the films within that month to a certain genre or culture or societal issue, etc. Partner theater and showcase when the HIFF (Hawaii International Film Festival) is in season. Absolutely LOVE this theater, one of the many reasons my husband and I became museum members.

This is a place where there is a museun, but there is a theater in the back! They dont play movies that other theaters play, but they play traditional ones. Like every month they have a theme. Like chinese, japanese, Korean, and other languages you can think of! You can also visit the museum too. I like to go here to watch movies. So I would recommend it if you like to watch traditional movies.

I love the courtyards most about the Honolulu Museum of Art. Brightly colored Persian tile work and Japanese koi ponds. The Pacific exhibit is exquisite with beautiful artifacts. This museum offers a range of art to suit a variety of interests, including the rotating gallery.Doris Duke Theatre downstairs inspires you with surf films, cultural films, showcases of local documentaries with graffiti artists and Oiwi TV.Get all your culture.Absorb all your community.Coexist with beautiful like-minds people:Art After Dark on last Saturdays offers open air chill spaces and crowded dance party / check out the scene zones. People watching event worthy of throwing on those heels Rotating theme makes it fun. Or come alone on a Sunny afternoon.Sit.chill.And be inspired

We came for the concert of Peter Kater yesterday . The gate was closed and people were waiting outside standing. When we were in, the hall was closed, as they were checking the system sound. Inside was freezing, so everyone wanted to buy tea, but they didnt take credit cards. No internet. The musician could not sell his CD due to no connection. For the entire hall there were 36 people and it felt ashamed, as it is very famous musician.

Museum run movie theater in the basement at the back of the property. There are sometimes free events sponsored by different organizations but for the most part they charge $12 for screenings, $10 for members. The projection, sound quality, and seat comfort are sub-par to your average movie theater and far below any modern theater like Ward cinema. So i find even when they show rare “films” it’s really just a projection of a blu-ray or some other sub 4k digital format.

I went to the theater for the first time when they were showing Dekalog. This Polish television series of ten shows played back to back. Each one of the shows highlights one of the ten commandments. The staff was welcoming and friendly. They had bentos for sale at the breaks after each two shows. The seats were so comfortable, it made being there for 12 hours quite an enjoyable experience. It is entirely wheelchair-accessible, and the price of the films there are more than reasonable. I cant recommend it highly enough.
