Lake Ranch Resort Condominiums

We ended up staying at the Lake Ranch Resort because we couldnt find any other place with a room available, but were happy we did! The rooms are simple, but they had everything we needed and were very clean. It was nice to have an outdoor entrance to the room, especially during COVID. The coffee maker with mugs was a nice addition and we were able to have coffee on the dock looking out on the lake. The check-in process was easy, and the woman working the front desk was very helpful with dinner recommendations. There were one or two in walking distance, but we drove to the rest within 10 minutes.

My husband and I decided to do a last minute weekend trip to the West side of Michigan with our one year old daughter when I stumbled across this sweet little resort. Walking distance to Holland State Beach and right on the water of Lake Macatawa. We had a wonderful weekend here and would definitely come back! Great place to stay for the price and the owners are extremely friendly!!

Family friendly waterfront resort within walking distance of Big Red lighthouse on Lake Michigan and Holland State Park Beach!The gazebo overlooking Lake Macatawa is complete with gas grills and picnic tables for dining at the waterside. The grounds are immaculate with with overflowing flower pots and boxes. The Saltwater pool is always clean and refreshing. The owners go out of their way to make your stay fabulous! two doors down is The General Store. This is the place for everything, including morning donuts and coffee to the hand-dipped ice cream! You will make many family memories here!️

Beautiful day rental condos all with their own theme. Our favorite is #15. Lighthouse themed perfect for a family of four (especially with young ones) equipped with a kitchenette (fridge and sink) with a pull out sofa. Pro tip: We place two pool noodles under a sheet to separate the kids in bed.Access to a beautiful courtyard with a volleyball net, gazebo, and gas grills all free for renters to use. They list water access, but its not beach access, but dock access (seasonal slip rentals). Heated pool (when needed) with fun glass viewing window underwater from the side walk. Sand filled playground for the kidsOwner is super nice and very accommodating. Had 4 cars up at once and gave us all passes. Highly recommended!!

Lake Ranch Resort is awesome! I want to give some details though, because everyone has a different idea of awesome.For my family it was awesome because:--prices were reasonable--they have a GREAT pool--there are 3 big windows in the side of the pool that you can take cool pictures from the other side of your kids in the water; also, the pool is big and goes from 3 to 9 feet deep; AND its salt water, not chlorine, so much healthier--theres a fridge, toaster, and microwave, so we were able to save a lot of money by preparing our own food--they have high quality gas grills right on the water where you can grill--we grilled a whole bunch our first night and then ate leftovers for the next 2 days!--its the kind of place where generations of families keep coming back--everyone is so nice, and its literally where nobody locks their doors--location is great--about 1/2 mile walk to Lake Michigan beach; right on Lake Macatawa; General Store and several ice cream places nearby; 1 block away from good kayak/paddle board rental place--right across the street from Mt. Pisgah, which is a huge sand dune you can climb with a great view of the lighthouse and lakesNow, let me share the possible negatives, depending on your personal preferences. None of these were issues for us, but its best to know what youre signing up for:--its built in the 1950s, and the look of the property, sign, etc., shows it. The rooms themselves have been updated and are cutely decorated, but the outside definitely looks like a 1950s motel--the amenities are more like a rental unit than a hotel. They provided bar soap, nice bath towels (but not pool towels), hair dryer, coffee maker with filters, coffee, and powdered cream, dish soap, salt/pepper, paper towels, toilet paper, as well as all usual kitchenette things (plates, bowls, cutting board, cutting knives, flatware, cups, mugs, toaster, dish drying rack, etc.--the property is right on Lake Macatawa, but its a small boat marina, so while the distant view is beautiful, the close up view is of small boats--the doors have a lift-up window in them, and the window is an old-fashioned glass slat one that slides open to allow in breeze--everything was so safe and everyone leaves their stuff out, doors unlocked, etc., so I never felt worried, but its not state-of-the-art security (plus, the keys are actual KEYS)Final thoughts:--the manager, Bill, is great and very helpful--this was a great experience for my husband, myself, and our 2 boys (ages 12 and 16)...there are people of all ages--some groups of only retirees, some families with teens, some with little kids.--they do have games to rent, a volleyball net, shuffleboard, and a club room to hang out in, but with COVID limitations, they werent able to offer some of that--I would definitely come back!!!

We had an amazing time! We have 2 boys that had a blast. Owners were very friendly. Our room came complete with toys and games and books and anything you could possibly need! Had plenty of gas barbecues, no need for charcoal. Right across the street from a walking trail with 250 steps up. The pool was a great size and went to 9 feet deep. Also had a window if you went underwater that could see to the street! We don’t want to leave!

It was clean, the on line pictures represent the rooms correctly. the owner was very accomidating, he was more than happy to make arrangements for my boat. Great place, excellent location - I will book with them again.

Quaint little motel, rooms are very small, cute and small, but you dont spend a lot of time in the room. TV is smaller than most computer monitors, very small TV, but the guy was very helpful, (front office), very friendly. You are right on the lake, the picture you see is taken down the road just a little bit. If youre going to spend a lot of time in the room this is not the place for you.

Unique resort nestled in the sand dunes and campgrounds of the Holland State Park. Wonderful place to drink a cup of coffee in the morning, and enjoy a beverage by the pool in the afternoon.So many friendly folks and nice touches. Beautiful flowers, and wi-fi that works. Grilling by the lake, the hot dogs taste hot doggier, and burgers are a treat.Families have been known to return each summer for generations.Do yourself a favor and stop by for a weekend.

Perfect! Stayed in room 30. The place is more cute in person than what the pictures show. Very clean amd very cozy with all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. Walking distance from Lake Michigan at Holland State park. Watched the sunset on Lake Michigan then watched the sunrise from the docks at the Resort on Lake Macatawa. Highly recommend.

Been going to Lake Ranch since I was a kid (I’m 33 now), and it’s always been a great experience. The docks are lovely, and the location is unbeatable (an easy, 10 minute walk, and you’re standing on the beach at Lake Michigan). The units are unassuming, but perfect for what you need for a relaxing, low key getaway. There’s a pool (as kids, we loved getting our pictures taken through the big pool windows), grills for cooking out, and a sizable library of board games, beach-reads, DVDs, and VHS tapes (yes, I said VHS - it’s endearingly quaint) for honor-system borrowing. A two-minute walk to the general store with some excellent ice cream, knick knacks, and simple vacation needs. Dune Dogs across the street, right next to the entrance to the dune trail. Downtown Holland just a 10 minute drive into town.All around - If you’re like me, and every once in a while just need an easy, low-key getaway, or a few days of peace and quiet right near the beach, this place is perfect. And as a former Lake Ranch kid, myself, it seems like a pretty good place to take the family, too. I definitely recommend.

Cute, comfy, clean, courteous & friendly staff. Could use handrail in shower, however, for safety. Hope to return someday!

Had overnight stay at room 30. Great service and friendly employees. The room my family stayed in was comfortable. Settled near the lake, it was a great place to relax and have a barbeque (as there were gas stoves near the lake). The beach is only a moments walk away, with a ice cream shop and a hot dog stand along the way. Very comfortable, and will most likely go back.

Excellent family friendly place.We brought everything with us to keep our kids entertained, turns out they had everything. And were needed not being anything.

I have never personally stated here, but my cousin has stayed here multiple times in a row. The rooms are small but the location is amazing. Additionally the heated pool is a grat place for your kids to swim and lounge.

Awesome place to stay, especially with children. Parking was right next to our room and the manager really went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Also, the play area was great for my son, and the heated pool was awesome!

Our room was clean and cozy. Kitchen is complete with cooking and eating utensils. Bill was really accomodating. They also have grills overlooking the lake.

Lake Ranch Resort has a fabulous location in Holland, Michigan. Its right on the water (Lake Macatawa) and less than a mile from Lake Michigan. The units are small, but there is a heated pool and you cant beat the location.

So cute! Clean and employees are the best! Unit 22 was so cute! Id definitely stay here again! There was only 1 tiny tiny downfall and that was that the walls are not noise proof. We heard just about everything our neighbors were saying through the walls and then when they laughed or got louder than normal, it was LOUD. Such a great place to stay and so homey :)

How could anyone give this dump 5 stars. The room was awful. Bathroom sink nearly rusted off the wall. Bed-spread while clean, covered in stains. The mattresses where very old and Im still sore days later. Save yourself the trouble, look elsewhere.

A fun and family oriented place to stay. The pool is a big hit with everyone, as it has 3 windows in the front so you can take a picture of your family or friend underwater. My mother and I stayed there back in the 1960s and 1970s. It was a wonderful place for a lonely little girl to grow up. Then after we moved to Holland MI, I worked there in the 1970s and 1980s. My niece and her husband and family stayed there this past summer. She said its just as great now as it was when I was growing up!

Facilities seem nice, but parking is very limited for guests, and employees were very pushy about moving my vehicle when I was there for a short stop to pick up a relative. I would not stay there overnight because of this.
