Took the kids for a trip to the park. There were actually a lot more kids there than we thought were going to be there. There was a nice little library borrow room. It was cute. We didnt go in, but it was a cute idea, and others seamed to really seamed to enjoy using it and it looked well stocked. We took a walk on the trails, but they were washed out from recent storms or something. We still enjoyed our visit a lot and our time out of the house.

This is where I go to getaway, to write, to pray, to read, to hike, and to explore the beauty and wonder of God’s creation.

Had a great time looking at the awesome birds. They are doing a good job with a one way system and bookings so it doesn’t feel overcrowded. They ran a version of the free flying bird show which was great.

A great place that has history tired to it. Excellent for a day hike. Theres even a nice little gift shop where you can get some amazing maple syrup, yes the real stuff. There is a scenic or and back trail with a couple of dinner trails. If you show up on a Saturday you might be able to catch an old time baseball game. If its been raining expect to get wet and the trails may have washouts, be prepared.

Took family photos, enjoyed the grounds, and walked one of the trails. The leaves were beautiful and there was a wedding taking place in the gazebo. It was a beautiful day and a fun time for all.

Nice place, quite and almost never crowded. There are some improvements undergoing near the big maple lake, where a new she had been erected and another one is on under construction. The play area is about a mile away on the other side, however, it would be nice if there were a swing set next to the slides, where in that part of the park, there are two ready sheds with BBQ grill available next to them.

One of the best-maintained picnic/scenic parks in the area. Different foliage, rustic bridges and old-time wooden structures make for excellent photo opportunities/backdrops.

It looks like they have some sort of classes in the Summer. I went for the walking. If you want to take a hike in the woods, or if you just want to take a small stroll through meadows, this place offers both. The view is absolutely gorgeous. There are several Rivers and bridges that go over them. There are also many places to sit, so the weary can rest.

Lots of places to sit and fish. Pretty views of the lazy river winding around the park. Maple syrup, fresh ground cornmeal. Public restrooms, and even a small gift shop.

Beautiful terrain, nice trails, and some interesting history. Worth a stop to check out.

Had a wonderful time at the Grinders game ! Granddaughter won the signed baseball raffle.

You have the old mill and river to walk by. In summer alot of weddings pictures are done by the gazebo.

This is always one of my favorite spots in Northwest Indiana to take my drone for a spin and grab some pictures. I have been coming here since I was a kid and now I bring my kids there. Great spot!

This is a nice park with interesting history exhibits. The hiking trails need some maintenance.

The trails and scenery were great if they had better signage it would be 5 stars for sure. The routes aren’t marked well so pay attention to your trail and take note of markers like bridges and other things.

If youre looking for a county park that isnt packed with people and has free parking and beautiful trees, Deep River County Park is it. We went there in November because I needed to burn off some of my kids energy. The playground is not the newest but they had it to themselves.As you can see by the photos, the trails were covered in leaves but you still could identify where to go. Lovely big trees, even in late fall. We met more people on the trails than we saw in the parking lot (we parked at the entrance off of County Line Road). So you must be able to get into the park from another entrance.There is a bathroom building but it is more of an outhouse.There is also a separate part to the park that has 2 ponds. The trails were wide open/had no tree cover and the only people we saw on them were on horseback. I imagine in the summer it is a fishing spot as well.All in all, it was a peaceful park and a good way to get some outdoor time for me and my kids.

This park is so beautiful. They have walking trails, creeks, a gazebo, bridges, a place for campfires & large fields. I finally had a chance to go inside of the big house on the property & it was pretty cool & interesting. Such a beautiful & serene place. Worth the trip

Just walk the dog in the grassy areas on county line side. No people around so it was nice. Didnt walk any trails since it was still muddy.

Beautiful County Park. Families can enjoy a picnic and play a game of kickball in the open field. Excellent setting for weddings and photographers to capture memories.

Went in late October to enjoy some early color. Nice short, easy trails through some woods and along a lazy flowing little river. Seemed like a popular place for family pictures, senior pics, etc. Some nice backgrounds for pictures

This park has beautiful walking trails. None of the trails are very difficult. Excellent place to spend a day with your family. Fall is the best time to visit. Call ahead for hours of the old mill and gift shop, which are not open every day.

Fun walk. They have a Porter potty by the entrance of the trail but its really nasty.

We came here for the first time to plant a sunflower. The lady who helped us was fabulous and informative. She also does the little event they have on Wednesdays during the summer and she is just great with the kids. We then went into the mill and the gentleman inside there was awesome and very nice and showed us how everything worked. Finally, we walked around and everything was abslouty beautiful!! The flowers were nice and the grass was clean. We didnt get a chance to do the trails but will be back again to explore.

They lock out the public out of the park on Ainsworth Rd give the key to the privilege to get in and quite opening the gate at Maple lakes even though there sign says open daily at 7 am

Been going here 10 years of my wife and I marriage. We love going here for date days and nights and love hanging out there. It is so peaceful and a great place to take your family to enjoy the great outdoor!!!

Beautiful place to take a walk and explore. Play ground for kids as well as interesting history at the 73rd entrance. Would get 5 stars but the restrooms by the play area are not kept well

Maple syrup sugaring class! Excellent!!! Teacher (Dyan) was so engaging and friendly. Beautiful old main building with everything maple syrup to buy. Easy to find and closer than you think.

I went there to walk the trails. The trails were in pretty good shape. A few fallen tree had to be stepped over. Also a spot where the ground had gotten washed out from some earlier floods. Not a big deal really. If you plan to walk to the playground, do not use the outhouse there. Odor and bugs made it unusable.

Such a beautiful historic location and the staff is beyond knowledge regarding the history of this site.

Really nice peaceful place. Plenty of nature and history all in one. The maple syrup is great and the workers are always willing to share the history not only of the mill but the town as well.

The people were so kind and accommodating. It was very interesting to see the hard work that goes in to making real Maple Syrup! And wow I learned so much about Maple Trees. Definitely recommend coming here for a fun unique activity!

Lots of horse manure on the trails

Clean and decently manicured, this is an excellent location for picnics or photo shoots. Ive never run into bees or foul odors, but the mosquitos can be a bit rough is late summer. The waterway is clean and pleasantly babbles. There are nooks to tuck into as a couple on a date and larger spaces for families to reunions. There is no covered shelter other than an old saw mill which is intended to protect the mill mores than provide cover during weather or the grain mill if it is open. Always pleasant, this park usually isnt overly crowded.

This is a great place for a picnic. There is able parking and pavilions as well as playground equipment for the children. I have been there primarily on weekdays and it is typically not very crowded. Ive not been there in a weekend recently so it may be busy then.
