Such a great historical spot. Closed indefinitely due to COVID-19 I was happy to be able to walk the grounds and get great photos of the amazing building in Hillsboro, TX Never under estimate what you might find when you Google Search Museums while passing through a little town.

Amazing to know that Sheriff was my Great Grandfather Bob Wilkinson. My Aunt Peggy was born in that jail house.I am so glad to know that is has been preserved and respected.

Sweet little Museum with lots of historic artifacts. Volunteer ladies were especially sweet. A lot of veteran memorabilia.

Cool little museum in a quiet town. Has a lot of odds and ends. The ladies at this location seemed knowledgeable on the building’s history. My favorite part was the old style cells in the back. The old confederate money was an interesting piece too. Worth the detour on your drive to one of the bigger cities.

Treasure trove of Hill County history. Great place! Unfortunately the museum is only open on Saturdays from April through October. There is no heat in the building, so the museum is not open during the winter.
