I love this park but unfortunately some people are usually up to no good here
Its a nice park had an opportunity to get close to a hawk. Still dissatisfied with the public restrooms no being open especially it was on a friday. The maintenance crew was actually there but show no concerns of opening the restrooms i watched them for 2 hours work next to the tennis courts. I was going to ask but i know they would gave me some excuse thats why i watched them. They had the keys but choose not to open the restroom. A father had to take his son on the side of the fence to go pee.. How sad
Its a great park except the gazebos basically function as tweaker camps.
Today was a disappoint due to the fact that the restroom was closed today. I was told by other that the people had not open them all day long. Supposed to be open at 7:45am until dusk. The people know that theres nothing anyone can do about it. I offered to complain to the city for such negligent of someone doing their job right. The city of hemet will be reviving a nasty email from your truly concerning this matter. Im not the one to just pull it out next to a tree how disappointing i expect better from the park maintenance crew doing their JOB. laziness on their part.
This park has cleared up a lot. Even when theres homeless people around, they stay in their own spot and dont bother anyone or cause trouble. My kids love it here because of the tire swing. But be careful during the sunner because the playground WiLL burn your skin!
I just go to play basketball Im not concerned what others are doing in the park. Its a nice place to get away for a while considering its a 10 minutes from my house.
Great park on Veterans day But why not the other Holidays and perhaps Summer Concerts And how about Farmers market
Its a park... Wasnt the greatest as the bottom of the slides were too high from the ground. But other than that it was ok
Not to many homeless in the park this day. Maybe because of th ed flags for memorial day being put out. Wanted to see the monument up close but was saddened but not surprised to find it locked up. Will have to check and see if and when they open it to get a close up view.
The park itself was fairly nice and I loved how they honored the Veterans with the array of flags however, the people hanging about the park were some sketchy characters that made me feel uncomfortable....playing obscene music loudly, drinking alcohol in close enough proximity to were children were playing on the playground....not my cup of tea....needless to say we didnt stay long
There are different events throughout the year, Veterans Day which is fun for the kids as Mercy Air lands on the baseball diamond. Kids can actually sit inside the helicopter so parents, can take their picture. Merchant & food vendors also. Check your local news on FB or local paper for more.
Great spot for family and friends to visit and have a great weekend and very respectful people there!!I go there most of the time as I can.with family and friends and has a great day.
Fun place for kids although the homeless people are kind of a bother.
They many different things to do there, but it doesnt feel as safe as I would like it to be.
Its a real nice park, I feel safe with being there because of all the cameras on the pole lights. Crime is high in that area.
One of the older parks in Hemet area, parents avoid during summer playground is scorching hot. Few baseball diamonds and lots of areas around park for a nice picnic, when the homeless arent over running it.
I stopped to shoot some hoops. They have a half court basket all hoop with no net. There was 2 handfulls of homeless people lingering. No dogs allowed. Nice trees, decent play ground. Tennis courts, baseball diamond, alot of open grass areas for soccer. Plenty of parking, benches with gazebos for eating and parties and restrooms. The Veterans monument
Beautiful park. A fun place to take grandkids to picnic, run, throw frisbees, kick soccer balls, climb, and swing. Sadly, the two large pavilions are totally overrun with homeless people day after day. Also, the bathrooms need to be cleaned EVERY DAY because homeless people leave their trash and old clothing on the floor. The city of Hemet needs to be more attentive to this park or else our citizens and out-of-town guests will think the city has decided to let the homeless take over the entire park like they have done to the Weston Park.
I grew up playing on the gentle slopes and grassy knolls, I have many fond memories, of barbeques, pic nic, and making out in its parking lot.The bad news is it closes at sunset, so no more hanging out in the parkinglot. Valley Wide in San Jacinto is open after dark. Also theres a ban on dogs.... Sucks but only the homeless get away with a dog in the park. And like most cities there is a grungy element to be aware of.Overall a graet Sunday outing ....enjoy
I pulled up to lately my 5 year old twins play and with in 5 minutes there were 2 guys fighting. It quickly tired into 4 guys fighting. 12:30 in the afternoon.
Nicely rufford park remembering the military
We were there today for the Christmas in the Park event after the Hemet Christmas parade. Beautiful park, the toys were a big hit with the kids as there were so many kids on them playing and having fun. I noticed they had restrooms but I didnt visit them to see how they were. They have at least one baseball field that I noticed and a huge grass area with hills looked like fun to roll on for the kids.
It would be a great park if people visiting the park would be more conscientious about picking up after themselves. Theres trash everywhere even though you can find a trash and a recycle bin in several locations of the park. Unfortunately I did see a couple of transients in the picnic area. I wouldnt let a child go in those restrooms alone.
Cops take what is fun and to relax away
Beautiful park had a good time just walking around and enjoying the peace and quiet
I would give it 5 Stars just for the fact that the playground is awesome awesome awesome it truly is a unique type of playground my kids really loved it I gave it three stars for the fact of all the Trashy people walking the gang Bangerz that I saw there and the drug activity that went on what is our society turning into that you have to hang out at a park and do activities like that where kids play I was a little bit irritated it disgusted cutting my visit short but if you can go to a day where theres no activity and no trash walking the park it would be perfect from the tire swings to swings to the pull up bars it is truly a unique playground with plenty of space remember be safe and have fun
Its a lil hoodish
Good
The kids really enjoy the playground and the police patrol the park regularly to keep the riff raff at a minimum. Very clean place
Just a nice little park ro rest in the shade.
I arrived at Gibbel Park not long after the park grass was freshly cut, with nobody on my side of the park. I really enjoyed my time there. Quiet, clean,no dog poop.
Nice park...1)....when the pet owners are not polluting the open areas / SOCCER FIELDS where our kids play.2)....when the swarms of homeless have not squatted all the covered picnic areas for the day, evening, night...Yada, yada.3)....when the event groups are not blaring music using more swear words than tempo. So loud you cant hear the police helicopter overhead or the gun shots from somewhere else in the park.
Nice veterans day tribute.
Park has good play equipment but homeless roam park.vetrans memorial is nice.
Neighborhood where there are courts to play even playground is shut down from virus scare. And has fields for softball. The people look scary but are kind and friendly.
Always a good place to relax and have fun at the same time.
Just dont leave your belongings unattended because they will disappear smh
Always have a great time there with our grandsons and with our church picnics
It was fun. Balls are kind of greasy and will burn you with repeated play. But overall lots of fun.
Great for kids. The little trains are so cute to ride. Great for all ages.
DANGEROUS for vehicles N. Kirby St. Just before W. FLORIDA.....HAD A MUTUAL ACCIDENT BY BOTH DRIVERS
Hemets finest hangs out there not a safe place to leave your kids alone and take your family watch your love ones
Awesome park lovely place to enjoy ant festive times
Its a large park. Well kept. Very clean.not crowded at all. At youll find stray people talking at tables. But well patrolled. Its a great park
A great place to take the kids to play on a sunny winter day, or to have a family picnic. However, the bathrooms are a glowing embarrassment to the City of Hemet, with leaky plumbing and no stall doors, and the Park is closed all day on all Tuesdays! (Allegedly for cleaning).Nevertheless, the expansive park features lots of large grassy areas, and even a place to play horseshoes as well as a few picnic areas with wooden canopies over them which make for any-weather gatherings, and there are well-used basketball courts for spontaneous pick-up games, as well as a baseball field for a good practice venue for other budding athletes.
Very nice big and relaxing my first time being was Christmas eve 2017 we had a picnic. Im new to Hemet so I can honestly say I enjoyed yesterday time as well playing with my children who also loves the playground and swings
Had a lot of fun on the TIRE SWING!!!! My daughter had a blast!
Nice park except for the homeless that seem to gather there
Dont take kids I was asked if I wanted to buy meth by two different people
I like that the restrooms are always open. theres not a lot of problems. And the store is right across the street where they sale good tacos .
I used to love going there with my service animal but the hemet pd. Says service animals arent allowed. No dogs doesnt matter if its your registered service animal or not. According to the officer that wrote a citation.
Lots of parking, playground, bath rooms, lots of tables to have parties or just hang out!Area for baseball, basketball, tennis, house shoes and riding bikes !But there are alot of homeless that hang out everyday! Most keep to themselves though!
Cracked out clean the restroom .
Homeless people everywhere ..better to go early
Nice park to enjoy shade and sunshine
Not a cool place for kids the things Ive seen there
Smallish playground but with lots of grassy, hilly areas and a baseball field. Kids request it for the tire swing and love to run/play/flip around on the hills.
Nice in the day, cute playground. Next to Chuck E. Cheeses my niece loves it.
Nice place it is the starting for the Christmas parade Saterday Dec 1
Nice park but wish the city did more to help the homeless.
Great park kids had fun
Nice and Shady. But a little bit too much trash. They need to clean the place up a bit.
We enjoy playing tennis there, we only wish that the city would maintain the tennis courts a little better, and lights at night would be great.
Large homeless population. Tried to take kids there. Man in park kept yelling at us. Woman smoking weed on park bench. Had to grab kids and leave.
Not to clean and lots of homeless people
Nice & Clean great for Civic functions
The park is big so its a good place to bring your kids but there is a bunch of homeless.
It need some T.L.C.
Love the shaded grass area under the trees, appreciate the cleanliness. The bathrooms close @ 3pm & thats the most inconvenient thing
Not for kids lots of homeless druggies hang out here all day, hard core meth addicts do drugs at the tables n bathrooms ppl sleep out side under the tables hiding in the dark to much trash n dangerous objects thrown around ever where not all that safe for u to bring ur pets n kids to play here
It could be better.
I give it 2 stars only because all the bums there make it very on safe .
A good place to go for a picnic and for kids to play at
Decent park
The playground and area itself are nice. But many homeless people roam here and thiefs fleeing from Sears and nearby businesses as well. ( Used to be LP for Sears, chased many into this park). So keep alert if you visit.
Nice place to visit. To many homeless people hanging out
Looks like that park is in the rough part of town a lot of shady characters there
I dont knoe why but this park sketchy lately lol
Nice family park. The grandchildren love it!
Kinda a nice place minus the hobos
Love that park grown up and now my kids are .
Good Park .Kept up ..
Too many homeless bums hanging around
Rally today for Walk For Life!
Alot of transients, drug users and drug dealers hang out here. Not family friendly at all and restrooms are always dirty with alot of activity going on inside them. Usually have my lunch at this park on weekdays, its my mid point from one job to another and wouldnt recommend it for friendly use.
Nice park for your family to visit
Lots of homeless people, play ground good for kids
Nice memorial park, they also do lots of car shows and community outreaches
Vets Day was so much... The people, kids and everyone were so nice
Ive been coming to this park since i was a child
They took away water fountains and it is Gibbel Park..
Love the location and layout of this park
Loved all the flags they had up
Nothing. Good
My baby had alot of fun here
Bkus its close to the mall....
Its a lot of fine ass females
Just getting to the park is half the fun
