The property had just recently reopened after the Covid-19 closure. The room was clean and properly disinfected. The property staff was doing a good job trying to maintain safety standards. The room size and location were outstanding. The decor could use upgrading but overall a very pleasant stay.

My family and I came to the Madrona Manor for a family dinner. On a Wednesday for their weekly “Fabulous Fried Chicken Dinner.” The service was excellent, atmosphere unique and elegant. We felt like we jumped in time. Old world ambiance. The food was a delicious three course meal we all enjoyed. Beautiful gardens and view outside, and nestled close to the town of Healdsburg. We loved our time here

Magnificent! Period! Chef Jesses passion for his food...Atmosphere of a Victorian Manor...Genuine and knowledgeable staff equals a great culinary experience. My girlfriends birthday was a smash hit! Her son was mesmerized by the chefs menu and waitstaff attention to detail. We sat on the porch overlooking the gardens as the sun was setting over the hillside...Tranquility and connecting with loved ones. Thank you! We will be back! Cheers!

This is a wonderful place for a getaway, the staff helped with a good wine selection. The staff also helped with good selections for winetasting and dining in the area. However, I think it is odd no one from the hotel was present providing service after 5 pm. We could only get ice from the front desk, because of Covid, but no one was at the front desk after 5 pm. So, you cant get ice for your champagne after 5 pm? The room was spectacular with lush bedding, but there was not any coffee in the rooms. The breakfast was tasty. I am sure this would be a fabulous place to visit after covid.

Nice, upscale place, but not snooty at all. Food was delicious and actually fairly reasonably priced for the quality. They are now offering an a la carte menu vs. just the tasting menu. The manor and grounds are very pretty. Would be great for a wedding.

Amazing place. It took us back in time, felt I was in Europe. This is a unique place for special occasions. Every room has its own decor including a fireplace. If you are looking for a more typical place with standard amenities, this may not be your place. This feels more like you are staying at someone’s home. We chose the 5 course menu with wine pairing. Loved how there was influence from French food but also clearly added flavors and influences from the west coast. A great place to come to relax and enjoy a special meal with a special person. Breakfast was nothing special. Missed having a great espresso or cappuccino for breakfast.

The staff were all friendly and decorations for the holidays were amazing.We made this trip thinking it was the trip of a lifetime....however, now due to our Madrona Experience we would like to return everyother year. We were here for a wedding. The staff was friendly but not always helpful. The house is lovely and clean. The rooms have a mix of extravagant but also some need updating, especially in the bathrooms.The pool is nice. The pool itself could use some shade, but I enjoyed it.

A great 2 star michelin restaurant that serves a boutique hotel which lies in a farmers area that grows the most fresh onion and eggs. How do I know thats what they grow? You can feel it in every bite

Very lovely property. I stayed in a room in the carriage house and it was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The staff were very nice and the food provided for breakfast was very good. There are good views of different vineyards. I didnt have a car and walked to downtown Healdsburg in 20 minutes. Lyft rides around the area were not expensive. I would love to come back to Madrona Manor in the future.

Lovely historic property in a beautiful garden setting. Well maintained and comfortable. We stayed in the Carriage House on the second floor. Breakfast was simple, but very good. Staff was very responsive. One caution: if you want to sleep late and are sensitive to sunlight, you may want to bring a sleep mask (no blackout drapes and one small window had no window covering of any kind). All in all, we totally enjoyed our stay and would return again.

This place is dirty, old, understaffed, and full of loud noises. They had no electricity upon our arrival, but didn’t bother to warn us before we arrived.Our vacation was ruined here! Stay far away from Madrona Manor, an overpriced joke!Their pool is cold and full of dead bugs and leaves that nobody bothered to skim. A leaf-blower guy making terrible loud noise all morning when all I wanted was peaceful quiet.

Spending the night in the mansion was a unique experience. It really feels like stepping into a different era. The service was great and the room was comfortable. The grounds and the view are gorgeous. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Decided to splash out to celebrate and this place was beautiful. Dinner in the restaurant was phenomenal but breakfast was a little disappointing in that it was more of a continental help yourself style

Nice experience. Main seating was outside on the patio, which was nice but a little windy and had some bugs. I came dressed in a button-down tucked into nice jeans, and I was the most formally dressed man dining there that night. Food was great. Service was also really good, but didnt have the refined polish one expects from this class of restaurant.

We stayed at Madrona manor for our honeymoon. I should start by saying that we were not the easiest guests. We had a mini-emergency our first night that became an inconvenience to the staff and other guests, and the following day, my wife left her purse with all of her valuables at the mansion. The staff and innkeeper were steadfastly accommodating and understanding. We have the utmost gratitude for their hospitality.The property is beautiful and the view from our room breathtaking. My wife and I both commented that we may have had the best naps of our lives, and sleeping with the balcony doors open and the valley below was more soothing than any wine we drank in Sonoma.While we did not eat at the restaurant, and the inn is adorned with its accolades (Michelin star), the breakfast was delicious.Convenient to town. We were able to walk into downtown Healdsburg though I would not recommend it. I would recommend walking to the wineries that are adjacent to the property for luscious zins.All in all a great experience and would recommend to anyone. Thank you to Madrona Manor for taking care of us during our special trip.

Madrona Manor has lost its Mojo as a fine dining restaurant. The dishes served at the Charles Dickens dinner were soulless, predictable, and flat. The service was monotone, inefficient, and not diner-centric -- they were just busy running around delivering dishes, like at a busy dinsum restaurant.Not worth a special visit and definitely not deserving of a Michelin star.

This hotel is not worth your money, definitely not 4 star hotel. Occasional noise at night from the ceiling, pillows and bed are not comfortable. WiFi connection was poor.

I attended a wedding and stayed the night at this location. The setting was beautiful for the wedding, very nice staff and a very relaxing vintage room and hotel. The main highlight for me were the grounds. It was nicely landscaped and very enjoyable to just walk around to enjoy the scenery. Would love to go again.

Wednesday night is fried chicken night. Great fried chicken! We had the spicy glaze... perfectly spicy and Sweet. Fried chicken was moist on the inside and crispy, but not too crispy. Loved it!

We had a great birthday meal with friends. Love the historic aspect of the building, and the food was top notch. The suggested wine pairings with the food were on point.

Beautiful facility with a friendly, supportive staff. The grounds are planted with gorgeous flowers and plants. There is a small vineyard and vegetable garden that the award winning chef uses in the kitchen. Drinks on the large front porch are a must where you look down on a large vineyard and the mountains. Very relaxing and an easy drive or walk into Healdsburg.

Madrona Manor is a beautiful place to host a wedding. The staff is very accommodating and the planner did an amazing job keeping things running smoothly. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and there isnt a spot around that isnt great for photos!

We also looked at this site as a wedding venue quite beautiful the Mansion is wonderful staff iand they are more than helpful! Their cheerful and accommodating attitudes make you feel right at home. They are always smiling I would definitely stay here again. Best part no televisions in the room.

We were treated to a marvelous birthday dinner at Madrona Manor. The tasting menu was filled with surprises and delicious tastes, and since the chef catered so well for people who had allergies and preferences, we enjoyed seeing an even great number of creative dishes! The wait staff were attentive and helpful in every way. I cant wait to go back! We will be recommending this to friends for special occasions.

We only stayed for one night in the carriage house, which was a great experience except that the room was extremely hot. We later learned there is only one setting for the whole house and didnt know we could access the maintenance team after hours. The hotel staff was accommodating in the morning and resolved the situation. Otherwise, I recommend staying at the hotel based on the excellent service and location.

We had our last dinner at Madrona Manor, the building and area breathtaking, it feels like you are in a different century, the reason I’m leaving this review, it’s because sadly we got a surprise with the check, my wife and I ordered the tasting menu, after all the waiters recommendations, they told that in order to get the full experience we should order everything, so we did, no one told us that above paying the price for the for two tasting menus we will be charge with extra $60 dlls, when you are deciding what to get, and the restaurant staff tell you that you should order something you trust and go for it, next time I will read every single word specially the fine print to avoid surprises :( other dissapointing experience, was the dessert lemon tart, it had an unpleasant strong egg flavor, when we told the waiter, he just said I’ll let the kitchen know, anyways, I don’t think we will go back, for a Michelin star restaurant you have higher expectations!

I have been visiting this wonderful place several times over the last few years, on very special occasions for dinner. This is the first time we also spent the night at the Manor.This property is very romantic, peaceful and charming. Our room was decorated with antiques to make you feel like you stepped back in time, yet the bed was very comfy and pleasant with all the modern amenities. Really very nice stay, except; there was not tea at the house we stayed at in the morning, just coffee and the artificial creamers served with the upscale Nespresso is a big faux pas...not what you would expect to be served in a grand Estate. Breakfast itself was pretty good with many buffet-choices. But service for refilling coffee/tea/water and clearing our plates, was below average.Dinner at the Madrona has been a highlight for us for several years. This time, well, it was different from before, and I am a tad disappointed. Our pre-dinner drinks were out of this world, exciting, different, delicious, with great service. Dinner was outstandingly delicious, but the whole experience was not as I remember from the past...I still have vivid memories of being ushered and gushed all over by staff, being served course after course of delicious little pieces of heaven, and being spoiled with extra little surprises sent from the kitchen. While service was still grand, something was missing. For $98 per person I want to be swept away.

My friends Christy and Mark invited me to join their family for a 4 course Christmas evening dinner at Madrona Manor. The food was very delicious, and the service quite good. I really enjoyed the caroling, the singers were exquisitely well rehearsed and sung in English, French and German. I was moved by their choice of music. This palatial palace like grandeur has me looking into a stay at the attached Inn this summer. Their amenities including the pool and gardens look very inviting. I feel happy knowing that I live in Sonoma County and this wonderful place is only 20 minutes from my house!

Charming but dated. Pretty gardens and near healdsburg

Its hard to live in Sonoma County as our expectations can easily become too high. The cocktails are incredible. Wonderful bartenders. The views and the facilities are outstanding. The duck and salmon were cooked perfectly. Amazing endive and scallop appetizers. It was surprising that the potato accompaniment for the salmon was under cooked unseasoned disks of potato. The wines by the glass that we tasted (3 in total) were horrible. This was after talking to the sommelier about each choice. The server was working too many tables and while the bussers took care of us, the waiter simply didnt have the time to provide us excellent service. Of course, all of these opinions are based on the price of the meal as compared to what other establishments offer in Sonoma County.

Very luxurious b&b, great service, a cool orange grove whence I sampled many an orange, and excellent location in relation to downtown Healdsburg but staying in a room in the carriage house we noted some drawbacks: there is no hot water if youd like to make tea at night, and the door frame had some nails sticking out of it that I kept stepping on.... Small things relatively speaking and overall we were very happy with our stay. Also, we didnt have a TV in our room, and that could be a plus or a minus depending on personal preference

By far, the best place my wife and I have ever stayed. Staff are extremely client focused. Place is phenomenal, great views, food, and grounds. Victorian style mansion with antiques everywhere. Great place to unplug and unwind.

Beautiful location and very quiet, perfect place to relax and also near many wineries. The town of Healdsburg is close with lots of interesting shops and Resturants, great place to spend a day.

Went there last night. This place blows the similarly priced and acclaimed restaurants in the area out of the water. I had a great time with friends eating and drinking over the course of several hours while our courses came out. Wait staff was fun and courteous. Food was delicious, beautiful and interesting. Drink menu was awesome. Our wine was great. It was truly a wonderful experience.

We went to Madrona Manor for New Years Eve. The food was all excellent, but we were rushed through our meal. Sometimes they would pour the wine for the next course before wed even finished the previous glass (and were quick drinkers). Half way through the meal my wife went to the bathroom, and they brought and explained a course while she was gone.

We had an issue with spiders in our room. We killed 4 large spuders in less than 30 hours in the room.

Madrona Manor is one of the best places to eat in Sonoma County. You can completely ignore Jayne Browns review (the menu is NOT hard to understand and if you are really a local you know it is a fine dining establishment). I have been coming here for almost 15 years and I still wouldnt hesitate to recommend. The grounds and restaurant are beautiful and the food delivers. If you are able, I highly recommend doing one of the Dickens Dinners in December, you will not be disappointed.

Inn is just not descriptive enough. Its more like a grand Manor House, only Victorian, in the heart of Sonoma County wine countyonly a few minutes out of downtown Healdsburg. You can stay for a night or as long as your pocketbook holds out. Its been rated as one of the top hotels in the world. You can go for a pricey (but well worth the $$) tasting menu, with or without wine pairings for all the different courses. Or from Wednesday through Sunday, starting at 6:00 PM, you can sit on their porch overlooking gardens, have a glass of wine, and try out their limited lounge menu. The hamburger & fries are excellent, made better by the ambience. Madrona Manor is one of the loveliest spots in a county FILLED with lovely spots. If you are touring wine country this is a MUST SEE destination. From the front porch the views go on forever, over lush vineyards to multiple mountain ranges beyond. The dark gleaming Victorian interior is romantic and elegant. What a place for a wedding....or a honeymoon. And if you are local, take all your guests here. Its what they will remember. EVERYONE should go in December for dinner or for their Dickens Christmas tasting menu, with Victorian garbed carolers providing familiar songs. The seasonal decorations are magnificent, tasteful. You are transported to another era. MM is a local treasure. It delights all your senses. Go NOW!

My husband & I started staying here in my Birthday month of September about 7 years ago & Love the Beautiful 1880’sYellow & White Victorian Mansion & Out Buildings . The property has a Chefs Garden, picturesque walks & views, benches, fountain & planting’s for Photo Ops. They have a 5 Star Restaurant on Site & many wonderful dining choices in 10 minutes in Healdsburg.

Need more amenities in this day and age. Rooms need some work and money

The atmosphere is very old West upper crust, with a taste of the best of what California has in wine and dine.

Service started off very attentive but dropped off drastically as the dining room filled. Had to wait 20 to 30 mins for the 5 or 6th course. Another table complained and got stuff; I didnt in hopes they would be classy enough to just offer (wasnt the case). Food was all right. Farmhouse Inn Restaurant is way better even if the two have different styles and scale.

Romantic is an understatement. Dimly lite, small dining room, tables far enough apart so others can barely hear the convo. The attention you get from every staff is ridiculous. They do really take pride in their clientele leaving happy. The food was exceptional with little bonuses amongst the tasting. You know its about the food when the chef comes out to checkin and is willing to share recipes.

We were very excited about this hotel being our romantic retreat for our wedding weekend but it was really the only part of the magical weekend that really left us with a bad taste in our mouths. Its not an inexpensive place to stay, but the is the type of occasion that seemed worth the splurge. The property itself was pretty but the service was appalling, especially for the price point. We arrived to checkin around 7pm and were shocked when we were hustled out the door with no welcome, a key and a map pushed at us and made to feel like we were being a bother to check into the $500+ a night room. We later learned that there is no front desk staff after 5pm so a waiter from the restaurant was helping us but clearly he was more interested in the customers who would be tipping him than the hotel guests.That first night we awoke in the middle of the night to a loud scraping sound in the walls which was clearly some kind of rodent that either lived in the walls or crawled into the walls to nest at night. Thankfully it didnt go on all night and we were able to fall back to sleep, but it was hardly the restful evening youd hope for the night before your wedding.The morning of our wedding, the hair and makeup person arrived for the bride and we received a snarky call from the front desk to let us know she was here. They were very snotty about not knowing that we were getting ready for a wedding. Maybe they should have asked when we made our reservation. Or when we checked in. Oh right - that would require providing a great level of service, or caring about your guests and not just thinking of them as a paycheck. We definitely would have told them, not just because it would have been nice for them to make an extra effort to be congratulatory, but in hindsight, certainly so we wouldnt have had to deal with the attitude they served with a side of vinegar all weekend.Keep in mind, our wedding was at Chalk Hill, a beautiful vineyard, and not at Madrona Manor. I worked in a 5 star hotel during my college years and know what good service is. Being angry that your guests arent informing you of having a guest in their room or your plans off-site is definitely not something to be angry about. If anything, be angry that your staff is too inept to realize this is something they should be asking if they want to provide good service.After the first dose of attitude I recommended my husband-to-be visit the desk to let them know that our driver and photographer would be arriving later to take us to our venue. Oh and that we had a rodent guest overnight.They were completely dismissive of the rodent and said that if we tried to take any pictures on their property they would chase us off. We were having a vineyard wedding for a reason and didnt intend to take any photos beyond the classic first look photo on site. I called my wedding planner right away and told her to divert the photographer directly to the venue, I didnt want any unnecessary drama to spoil our day and there were lots of beautiful locations at Chalk Hill for photos. The first look photo was the least of my concerns.The makeup artists heard this exchange and remarked that she was shocked when she had overheard the tone the front desk woman had taken with us when she called us earlier. We encountered similar issues throughout the rest of the weekend, arriving at the desk to find it unmanned after 5 and the restaurant staff untrained on the hotel policies and not particularly willing to figure it out.I told our wedding planners about our experience and they were horrified since this had been on their list of recommendations. They said they would definitely remove it from their list after hearing the litany of issues we experienced. There are plenty of other options to stay - the team at Madrona Manor needs some serious training on service if they are going to live up to their price point.
