Cabin was in like new condition. Lots of things to do and a great price. Only negative is the parking in a field full of flies.

I must say that it is a very well maintained facility. I gave 4 star just for the road which leads to it as that need little renovation. They can slightly improve on in-facilty marking of the cabins/camp grounds for better navigation. Staff is available to guide/help all the time. Will definitely visit in future again

Great facilities on a beautiful lake. Cabins have been recently renovated after the current owners took over. This is a newly revived camp and there are many finishing touches and refinements that they have yet to get right. Some bunk room have blinds, but not all, meaning you can wave to people walking past in the middle of changing. The salt shakers are useless because of the humidity, which could be easily solved with either rice in the salt or by replacing the shakers with sea salt grinders. The plastic cups used all over camp are very tall and with a narrow base, meaning the slightest bump caused spills. They offer meals at a price that suggest a high quality experience, but the meals themselves are all over the map. We experienced everything from wonderfully tender marinated flank steak to stir fry that consisted of an overcooked chicken stew served with not quite raw brown rice. The facilities, swimming area, many nearby hiking trails, and provided kayaks and canoes all help make the experience very enjoyable.

I really dont want people to find this spot but its AWESOME. We spent 4 nights in the shelters and this place is first class. GET THE MEAL PLAN. Chef Josh rocks some of the best meals. Water quality in the pond is great

The Good and the Bad. first the good the campsite is nice and the beach is beautiful. the bad. the bathrooms are ok but need to be cleaned more often.urine on the toilet floor the showers are nasty, yellow stains on the floor and they just have shower curtains they need doors. i skipped the shower. the cabins are nice and cozy the rooms come with beds, pillows and blankets you will need a sheet to cover your bed. no locks on doors use a table or a heavy bag for privacy no curtains on your windows. alot of rocks near your cabin so bring a flashlight.

Very nice cabins and campground! Found this place by accident while looking for campsites during a multi-day hike in Harriman. Brand new facility. Very clean for a campground. HOT HOT HOT showers! Beautiful views. Free kayak and canoe usage. Fire pits and barbecues. I heard it was a remodeled Girl Scout Camp. I camped in a tent alone on one of their tent stands. During my stay the campers abided by the 10pm quiet hours, which can be hit or miss at many campgrounds. It’s more of a family place, but felt very welcome. I’ll definitely be bringing the wife and kids next time. The dinner was great, but the breakfast even better. Only complaint is that the website makes it seem as if dinner and breakfast are included in the rate. No mention of additional charges for meals, not even in the email confirmation or at check-in. Just know, it’s not included. It’s also a little overly pricey. Paid $26 for a light mediocre dinner, and $14 for a great hearty breakfast. Advice: Skip dinner, but go for the breakfast. It was awesome! Other than that, bring the family. This place is a great place to relax.

Harriman Outdoor Center is a new facility run by the Appalachian Mountain Club and open to the public. Located within Harriman State Park, the facility has a dining room, lodge, group and family cabins, tent platforms and 3-sided (Adirondack-style) shelters. Each weekend, and sometimes mid-week, numerous outdoor activities are offered - hiking, birdwatching, canoeing/kayaking - for adults, teens and families. The facility is located on the shores of a large lake, so swimming and paddling activities are available. This facility is available for overnight guests only, not for those visiting for the day. Limited public transportation from Manhattan is available.
