Went with bf for the first time today. We did a quick google search because we didn’t wanna drive far. It did not disappoint. Bf loves mushroom foraging and was able to find some. Might be the best local park I’ve been to.
The park has lush grass and beautiful flowers the walk around the lake was about 20 minutes a little over half a mile. My only complaint is that a lot of dog owners do not pick up after their pets. There is a small pond with a beautiful water fountain in the middle of it and then halfway around the pond trail there is a bigger lake behind it with a little private beach you can bring some chairs and sit out and read and be alongside your beautiful loved one and your beautiful puppy! I am just so happy with the joy of today’s life!
Though Ive moved from Haverhill to New York, whenever Im in town I try to make time for a walk in the park. The paths are clean and fairly well maintained. Theres beautiful scenery and its quiet. People often wave or say hello, which is such a wonderful shift from NYC. Miss it already.
5 stars is too little to value this place,I gave it 10 !!!! I fell in love️ with the sidewalks, the pure air that you breathe and of course The castle is Majestic! The perfect place to walk the sidewalks clear your mind and share pleasant talks with family and friends!
It was a great place to take my new pup to socialize and comfort her with lands that remind her of home other than being a new city girl
BEAUTIFUL especially with the foliage.Nice area for picnic or outdoor family time. Just watch out for dog poop because some lazy owners dont clean up after their dogs.
Great trails to walk--distanes for all ages. Beautiful water and trees. Nice castle grounds, and a great playground for kids to play.
Great place for outdoorsy activities. Castle is closed to visitors but can still use facilities there.
It is a beautiful castle, pretty flowers all around it. Down further is woods to take walks, bring dogs, kids, playground & swings. Nice pond with geese.
This is a beautiful Park that encompasses a playground, a beautiful lake, and a castle ( Winnekenni Castle). Its a fun place for many people because the kids can play in the playground and a lot of couples getting married go there for their reception and pictures. There is a gravel parking lot with a walk way that can take you to either the playground or up to the castle.
Enjoy going there for a relaxing g day, walk the dogs, meet new people.
Always a great spot to go to with the kids. My youngest daughter absolutely loves seeing the castle
I love riding my bike here, great trails..
Great place for walks in the park. The Swan was in the small body of water with the geese! Great place to have a picnic or lunch.Beautiful view quite, clean.
Just like when I was little, great trails, easy walking and the castle is beautiful.
Great venue and park; a wonderful pick for weddings, picnics, low intensity hiking, and more. Bring that special someone!
Didnt get to the castle was there for the hot dogs out front, delicious
Great walking trails in beautiful surroundings.
Great place to go hiking, most people you meet on your way are nice and say hi.
Great park for walking and just enjoying the outdoors.
Just discovered. Great walking trails.
Nice place for hiking, biking, and walking. Nice view of a castle.
For an easy hike, park just past the tennis courts and follow the trail next to Kenoza reservoir. Stay on the trail with the water on your left (Red trail I think) and its 4.63 miles. Wide trail then narrow trail a little rocky with roots but easy. Last leg is along the road for a short bit then back on a trail to end. Walk at your own pace. Very kid friendly.
Nice playground for the kids and great trails around the pond and lake
Great hiking trails, peaceful nature. Super place for dog walking also.
Great walking trails, clean, well taken care of.
Enjoyed the walk . Castle was not open.
Its just a great good hiking and the castle is excellent
Castle is closed during the pandemic; grounds are open to visitors. Face covering is recommended.
4.3 miles LOOP to walk around, Hike ride ur non-motorized bike and enjoy your day!5 mins away from my house :D
One of the most appealing public parks Ive ever visited! Its beautifully maintained and retains a very natural feel on the trails through the woods and by Kenoza Basin and Lake. I was here for the peak fall foliage, the trees and leaves glowed with the sun and autumnal hues. Managed to get a good photograph of a heron, that was a wonderful few minutes!
Nice place for be quiet.
So much nature and rich history!
Nice area to walk. Bring the bug spray
Awesome nature trails, good lakes and a great view. Good hicking place for kids, adults and pets.
Nice safe place to go. The castle is beautiful and the hiking isnt too challenging. Theres bike trails and a playground. Whats not to love about it?
Very beautiful and peaceful
Wide trails that allow for social distancing but people still walk 2-3 abreast to make healthy distancing possible. City refuses to post signage.
Our favorite walking spot
Love walking with my husband here!
Probably the best park in haverhill the trails around the lake ate great.
Beautiful place for the harry potter festival
Great place to hike the dogs
Great Place to bring the family
Beautiful area to walk the dog. Lots of friendly people!!
It is a relaxing trail to walk all the way up to the castle.

A nice atmosphere with a nice view
Good place to walk
I went to a church service/ picnic at the castle at the top of the park. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. People were enjoying themselves. There were people walking their pets, running, riding bikes and just spending time at the playground with their kids. The views of the lake through the trees were breathtaking.
Great playground, plenty of trails to walk, sweet castle.
Beautiful well groomed trails perfect for walking, running, or biking.
Beautiful year round.
Beautiful trails and nature
I used to love coming here. However I took my nephew here for a walk yesterday and not only did someone hollar out their car window at me but up the trail there was someone clearly smoking pot as that was all you could smell and a condom on the ground. That may very well be a rare occasion but It didnt feel family friendly to me.
So peaceful
Nice place to walk, play tennis, bring the kids to the playground and nice historic castle too.
A wonderful place to walk and be close to nature. Also a great excuse to see a castle!
Nice walking trails
Its Winnikenni. Thats it

Alwats a nice place to bring the family for a picnic and a nature walk
Great place for the family, or just a nice quiet walk through the paths in the woods
Great place to walk, run or just stroll and take in the scenery. Playground for the kids and lots of shade. Picnics work great here.
Nice walking trails. Wished trail maps were provided, but very nice lake views.
Beautiful place, a small castle (you should check ahead the opening hours of the castel). The park has marvelous lake
Beautiful location and a great hike around Kenoza Lake. Lots of families and dogs on the trails.
Great to fantasize about living in a real castle. Beautiful upkept grounds. Everyone who visits is friendly.
Nice trails
I love this Park! beautiful views. A wonderful place to pass the time!
Its a great place to visit and a great place to bring the kids. Its got a nice playground area and a wide open area for the kids to run around and play ball and play Frisbee with a nice playground area for the kids to have fun in with a slide and swings and all that good stuff. There are trails to walk around and areas we you can set up a blanket to have a picnic and for your convenience there even mens and womens restroom facilities.Great place to visit and spend the afternoon as a family or whether youre going solo or a great place to take a date for a stroll after dinner. Its a fine place you can go for all sorts of reasons for whatever your taste.
Nice trail around the perimeter of the lake (gets muddy), great for walking, running, biking, and dogs! Playground and tennis courts near parking area.
Beautiful trail, ample parking
Beautiful grounds with all types of gorgeous flowers and an awesome view of Kenoza Lake
Lovely place and peaceful
Wonderful area to take family. Great time for hikes walking picnic and fun.
Love it scenic walks with the dog and my boyfriend
A great place to go hiking. The trails are easy, and very scenic, but some spots need some care. The castle is beautiful.
A Great place for walks with the family or dog...park for kids to play..alot of trails to explore..a overall great place for the whole family..events are taking place here also for the public and can be rented for $100 an hour
Winnekenni is a great park for whatever you plan on doing. Theres a beautiful pond and plenty of walking trails. You could legitimately walk around all day and find a new path the entire time. I go with my girlfriend just to walk around and get lost in the woods. There is a little play ground so its great to bring kids and a couple big open fields to play around in. The castle is absolutely stunning. Its a great date or a wonderful family outing. Ive been going here all my life and enjoy it every time.
This place is great and much larger than most people realize. If you follow the trails out behind the castle and explore a bit, theres so much to take in. You can go for miles, and the trails can range from very easy/relaxed to much more challenging thru the deep woods. The trails are very well cared for/groomed, though they are not paved or marked in any way. In some spots deep in the woods you can also come across the old ruins of 1800s mansions, etc. Theres not much left there, but there are signs explaining the history. The only thing I actively dislike about this location is that they seem to be strictly on-leash, and threaten $100 fines for those not using leashes. My dog is well trained, and we go deep in the woods, so I disregard the leash garbage, but it is something to keep in mind for the more populated areas of the park. Parking is easy and usually plentiful, though weekends may get busy. There are small parking lots from the entrance of the park, all along the little road leading all the way up to the castle. Outside of car shows and big events, I have yet to go there and not be able to find somewhere to park. If you live in Haverhill, this is likely your best option to take in some nature and escape the city. Just be aware of your surroundings, and its not a bad idea to bring a friend/hiking buddy. I only say that cus it is in Haverhill, and there are desperate people in every town, but probably more than usual in Haverhill. Ive never had an issue with anyone, but Im a thirty-something guy with a big dog, not the best target. I would be cautious if I were a female going out alone, though. Im not at all trying to scare anyone away, just be aware and be smart/safe about your surroundings and how deep you go by yourself! Its definitely worth checking out, and certainly worth an afternoon hike if youre just trying to do something local. Plenty of picnic tables and space to hang with the family. Theres also a nice little playground, tennis courts, etc. Definitely worth a visit!
4th of July Pancake Breakfast. Beautiful day to enjoy Winnekenni and catch up with friends!
Very nice place to walk your dog or take a bike ride peaceful and clean people actually pick up after their dogs
I went there and it is really nice to visit the pack very nice and clean and I enjoy going there
Very nice trail. By the pond side or otherwise, we can choose. Peaceful, ample of parking available. We can choose a long beautiful trail walk to the castle or choose to drive there.Restroom is available near the castle. Overall a nice experience even with kids & dogs!!
Great oddities fair !Beautiful grounds!
Marginally better than plugs pond. Still covered in trash and degenerates. At least you can walk in circles and get bit by the dogs that no one can be bothered to keep in the leash. Not like there are any pesky authorities to worry about, so no fines for them, eh?
