I am not a car fanatic but my boyfriend is... we both left amazed and we were glad we drove 35 minutes for it. Great Father’s Day trip please enjoy the pictures. There is 2 floors. Two floors of fine looking automobiles, including a Kissel Kar and Nash behind glass in the lobby. Well presented, includes some examples of unrestored Kissels and the Wisconsin racing HOF. Toss in an interesting Lionel layout and a full size stream engine for good measure.

Great collection of lesser known autos and memorabilia. Particularly interesting is the copious amounts of personal history from Kissel including personal scrapbook with early company notes and patents. Many interesting hood ornaments. Plenty of better known companies as well, fantastic 57 Lincoln Continental and a beautiful 36 Studebaker Dictator. Too much to list, if you love things that move head on down for a few hours.

We came here because my husband is very interested in anything automotive but I enjoyed it too. (more than I expected to, actually ;-) The cars are beautifully restored. There were tidbits of information such as the type of car driven by a young woman alone cross country in I915. The first to do so. I like that type of human interest story. Theres a large model train display that is fascinating to watch.

A great collection of restored vehicles, including relatively rare Kissel automobiles manufactured in Hartford, Wisconsin, where the museum is located. NASCAR autos are also there, as well as trucks, gas pumps, gas gloves, a terrific operational model railroad, as well as an operational train engine with several attached cars. Its easy to spend hours in this two level museum.

Great selection of cars. Was interesting to see early models, got a good chuckle from the lamps that were used as headlights and the steering rods instead of wheels. Also was great to check out the steam train, it was mammoth! My kids really enjoyed it here. Definitely recommend. The volunteer working that day was very informative and did a great job!

Great auto museum in a nice little city. Theres enough things to see here but not so much that its too much to see. The main focus is on Kissel cars that were luxury cars built in Hartford and Nash / AMC cars built in Kenosha. Plenty of others to see too. Theres a steam train on railroad tracks upstairs and a huge model train layout downstairs at the front door. Its a great place to visit.

If youre a true fan of automobiles this a must see!! The history behind the cars that were made in Hartford. The Kissel Motor Company How it started. How it ended. You will get to see many different makes of cars. Many that you will never see again!! They also have a working locomotive that has been rebuilt. Keep this part of our history alive!! Take your time walk around the indoor museum. This is what made Hartford what it is today. One of the companies that made Wisconsin the machine shop to the world!!

Review №76

The model train track is an entertaining and captivating sight. The museum is like a portal into the automotive past of the country. The cars on display are some of the rarest vintage cars ever put on display. You literally walk through history. There are cars from not just Kisseler but from other manufacturers such as Ford and Chevrolet. While Ford produced budget friendly cars, and still does till today, Kisseler produced rather expensive cars but couldnt survive the great depression. There is also an actual, real, non-model, fully functional, coal fired, steam powered locomotive tucked on the 2nd floor, how it got there is a question I didnt ask.

This museum is very charming. While the name of it may derive your impression on it, its not just vintage cars they own. Theres also a diner, a plane hanging from the ceiling on the second floor, and my personal favorite, train exhibits, which includes a Lionel layout and Soo Line 1003, one of only 10 mainline steam locomotives left in the United States. As for the cars, it ranges from Fords, Chevrolets, etc. etc. If you like transportation, this is worth at least one visit.
