Awesome place to have fun. Express yourself.

This spot deserves more than 3 stars. Probably 3.5. I like the downstairs bar with local, eclectic crowd and art. I ordered some type of crab or lobster and artichoke dip. It was really good. But it looked like a bowl of cat food and I couldnt eat it. I wanted to let someone know, but the Manager/owner was busy. Ive been there before and Im sure Ill be back.
Liked this venue for a couple reasons and didnt care for it for a couple too. PROS- Felt like a private show with plenty of room and comfy seating. Downstairs bar and restaurant was great to see at a concert venue. Many vodka choices and ample seating. CONS- Bartenders charge everyone a different price for the same drinks! My food was done for several minutes and no one noticed, it was cold. I went up to the bar and asked for it myself. My onion rings were just sitting behind the bar separate from my other food that was somewhere by the kitchen. They were out of French fries and the waitress said I could have onion rings as a substitution. Then the bill came and they charged me for the onion rings! Not even 1 or 2 dollars extra but they charged me a full order! Also charged me a full order of wings and I had a half order.
Came here for the Queens who Brunch. The food was good the show was fun. Although they ran out before brunch was over.We paid for the unlimited Mimosa brunch and found dealing with the bar was agonizing. The one female bar tender refused to help people. Or rather she seemed to only want to help certain people. They had one young man bar tending who was attentive. As you can imagine he got the tips!
Bring Dirt Sweet back please
Amazing atmosphere. Great people. Great shows. Awesome venue. Tia is the best bartender ever!
Had a great time at the 50 shades male review! If youre thinking about doing it, do it. Service lacked horrendously at HMAC and one of the two (slowest I have ever experienced) bartenders admitted they raised drink prices cause of the show. Atmosphere was good. Bartenders really killed the experience for me.
My fiancé & I travelled from out of state to see Nita Strauss, Kore Rozzik & the Kamikaze Kupcakes perform at the Stage on Herr. Great location, nice selection of beers available & we loved the venue! Conversed with a local regular who told us the history of the venue & that there is a top & bottom floor in addition. The decor, ambience, friendly & attentive staff was highly appreciated. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stop by. ^__^
I love coming here after work or while I’m doing laundry just to grab a beer and hang out. I love when they have someone Playing the piano. But I also like prime our music they do have touch tunes. I know that they went through some hard chips but it’s really coming back around and it’s a quality place to come
Came here to see a show in February and was blown away by just how much space this place has both upstairs and down. From the outside it looks like a house and then you go in and its huge. Pool table in the front room, then into a large bar area with seating and a piano. First floor has a weird/fun mix of coffee house and roadhouse. Then on to the upstairs for the music. You get up the stairs and there is another little bar and then it opens up into a huge auditorium. I thought the sound would be a little off due to the setup, but it honestly sounded great. Had a really great time here and it was worth the drive up from Baltimore. Great drink prices too.
This is a hard review. I absolutely loved the show (The Singers Lounge) but the venue could use some TLC. The stairway felt like I was walking to he!! and I plan on going the other way. The bathroom was okay. Not sure why they have the old saloon door in the entrance but thats not a big deal. The food selection could be very much improved and I thought based on the price, the drinks were a little short. The location is easy to get to but the parking is a nightmare. We parked about 3 blocks away. However, the show was so good it has afforded HMAC an extra star or 2.
I didnt eat there but this place seems extremely cool and has a really fun environment lots of really young people hanging out in a non-judgment area. Not really my kind of place but I guess if thats what youre looking for go for it.
Had a great concert experience here. Would come back again. At present, the city has the side walk corners tour up so getting here on foot from your parking spot can be difficult as often there is nowhere to cross except illegally.Hopefully by the time you read this and go to an event here, the city of Harrisburg will get its act together.August 2019
Great, small venue. I feel like they oversold the concert because it was packed extremely tight. Other than that, I would recommend this place!
Great venue. Friendly and accomodating staff. Saw Turkuaz play, those cats pack the halls so it was great not to fight for a spot up front, not oversold.
Nice small venue for my home town. Staff is fabulous. Food is great (ate there twice). Great for checking out a show or having a drink/meal.
The inside is much improved since the last time I was here. A venue upstairs and separate bar downstairs. Parking was closely available and plentiful, but its also a Thursday night... I hope they continue the quality shows and keep after the place.
One of Harrisburgs premier night time hot spots. They often draw a friendly eclectic crowd thats out to have a good time. They are also a live music venue and have a large comfortable restaurant. Bartenders are friendly and prices are on point. Food is good quality and the works of local artists cover the walls. This place is FUN for people of all ages. They are always doing something interesting either music or arts related. Its also a cool place to just hang out in.
Ive only been there a couple times for some day drinking but its a really cool laid back atmosphere, the staff is very friendly and the whole place has a creative vibe you wont get any place else. Definitely worth checking out! Cheers
Had a great time here.. the burger I had was good and the chips were great! The pricing was fair and I also enjoyed the live music. The waitress was also fantastic. Will come again (and to respond to the owner, youre welcome!)
Sound quality is amazing. They seem to be actively bringing bigger and bigger acts as the years go on
Nice clean venue with a large room and stage. The sound guy doesnt have a good ear for mixing metal. The guitars are never loud enough which usually ends up making the mix sound like mush. Prices for shows are too high considering the poor sound.
I came here for a recent concert and really enjoyed the venue! The place seemed very clean and the employees were nice. The only problem I had and I dont know if it was the band or the venues fault, was the fact that it showed they were performing in the bigger Capitol Room when in fact they performed on the smaller stage downstairs and that made it a little more crowded and compacted given the amount of people in attendance. Other then that, I really enjoyed it!
Third time here. We enjoy the atmosphere and the workers are generally nice and helpful. We had a great time. Great food and drinks.
Really neat venue, beautiful outside & inside. Lots to offer. They have food too! Amazing food actually. 2 Stages. A couple large areas to hang out in and the people are REALLY nice. Which makes a huge difference.
Interesting place, decent drinks and food. The fried pickles were great. If you are going for the bar, its worth checking if music is playing and what kind, because you will hear a lot of it every time the door opens.
Decent beers on tap. Food is just okay. If youre not looking for a fast lunch they have cheap prices.Typically have a good assortment of concerts going on. From jazz Fridays in their main room to anything goes in their small stage on herr or their massive venue upstairs.
Interesting venue. I dont get why they serve alcohol on the second floor and then say you cant use the elevator. Chairs around the perimeter but not enough for older adults to sit
Great venue, tons of room. Well kept.
I just love this place. Its welcoming to all kinds of people and hosts performances and concerts for a wide variety of tastes. They usually have a solid draft list of craft beers as well as a newly designed cocktail list and cheap rail drinks too. Happy hour runs both early and late with delicious & affordable bites. Its decorated with local art and always playing something weird on the TV (like old cartoons or horror movies). Theyve also got pool tables and darts. Check it out for yourself!
It good poeple there ok
Passing through town found this place because of its a Vibe! It jumped off the block! I was driving by and it caught my eye like nothing else. So upon looking further to find out what it was, I was extremely excited to find out that its a music and arts scene. Our whole crew enjoyed ourselves from the youngest to the oldest we all had a good time played pool ate unbelievable food, it seems like it should be so downplayed but the food is brilliant, super inexpensive & great drinks. really nice people including everybody in attendance of the krs-one show that we had a brilliant time at. Great venue nice people amazing Vive if youve never been to Harrisburg you should hit this place up! All ages as far as we could tell.
The staff was really kind. The food was alright. However, it feels kind of werid that there arent ANY visible security cameras in the main dining area, or behind the bar. I feel, given their recent and lingering allegations, there should be security cameras to be used in the future for accountabilitys sake.
Cool place, area seems pretty safe. Crowd was friendly.
I love this place! LOVE IT! I love it for the way it encourages and promotes the arts and love it for the way it encourages us as human beings to view and participate in art and music and comedy that pushes us beyond what we know into a place that’s vulnerable and pushes us to grow. But even more than that, I love it because of Tony. Go there, head to the bar, and see exactly what I mean. Tony is a throw back to the way things used to be when bartenders went out of their way to listen and to make patrons feel valued and affirmed. He will go out of his way to listen and by the time you leave, you’ll leave feeling like a rockstar who has gained a new friend.
Awesome venue good food little pricey but worth it I guess in the long run looking forward to a concert at the end of the month Blaze and Boondocks
The food was well above average, the atmosphere was pleasant, artistic, and strange, and the music was wonderful. We had a great time & the staff was the best. We’ll stop in at H•MAC again the next time we’re passing through H•BRG.
My bridal party and I had a great time at this venue for the 50 Shades of Men all male review. The only problem was there were not enough bartending staff to handle the amount of patrons.
It was a good, cleaner venue for music however the stage is smaller and the sound mix was not ideal. Not bad, just could be better. Bar service was good and the crowd was friendly.
Awesome little venue. Great place to grab a beer and watch bands.
Great vibe to the place. Great bands friendly staff.
Really cool place to see a show. Affordable drinks....
So much fun is had at this place. Karaoke nights are my absolute favorite. Amazing stage upstairs and a bar to go along with it! Reasonable prices and good times is a great combination. Highly recommend a visit.
We visited because the Stage On Herr Street was hosting Coco Montoya. The bar staff was friendly and helpful, there were ample choices, and the atmosphere was open and inviting. Charming in its own mildly shabby, bohemian way. Parking might be tricky though, I got the vibe that its clientele is mostly locals on foot.
The entire place is great beautiful people beautiful sound
Great place to come for any event or just for a beer. They have a great selection of beers to choose from. They also have a great variety of live entertainment as far as bands that play there. Cant go wrong coming here anytime. Please click LIKE if you found this review helpful. Thank You!
Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff
Jazz Fridays in the Kitchen & Gallery Bar fronting on 3rd street. Steve Rudolph jazz pianist par excellence and friends. The best Harrisburg has to offer
Good venue for shows. Good drink and food prices
It was great! Very nice venue for shows. Drinks were good. Parking was rough though.
Great venue with better beverage prices!
First time there everyone was nice and made place enjoyable
Amazing venue, great music, delicious food, and very polite staff would recommend time and time again!
Nice venue, good jazz. Steve Rudolf was great, as usual!
Staff was friendly and helpful, they hosted several events and the sound from the others didnt leak through. I had a blast!
Everytime I come here it is a great time
This place is so cool. Brunch on Sundays is a little different because they dont have breakfast food anymore, but it was still good. There is so much art, and the atmosphere is cool, too! Full bar and good food.
Nice spot! A lot to offer!
Its always fun going to HMAC when they have events like the Singers Lounge every third Sunday of the month. Plus on any weekday you can enjoy the IPAS from the bar or play darts or shoot some pool. Also their dinning menu is scrumptious I would eat anything off the menu. The art hanging up sets the vibe with the lights hanging up across the ceiling.
Me and a couple of friends went there n had a blast at Kareoke. I didnt have a song to sing or rap about anything but cheers to those that did and we loved it. Wednesdays
Go to HMAC a lot for shows and always have a good time.
Absolutely stellar staff and great venue looking forward to my next show there!
This place is pretty decent.
Only been there on a night of an event with limited menu. Restaurant wasnt that busy but waiter took a long time coming out to greet us and take order. Not sure if waiter was new or just filling in but did not know that much that was going on that night. Food was awsome though. Want a good burger thats the place to go. It was hard to eat it all because it was so filling.
The name says it all. This spot is an artists dream spot more or less. The Stage on Herr bar of the joint always has the walls filled with local artists galleries, with pieces that can be purchased. Also has open mike night every Wednesday hosted by local legend Mark Santanna. It also features weekend concerts by bands from across the country n world as well as local talent. Good tapas style food. Could be a much bigger (literally) venue uf they would open the concert hall (i guess u could call it) area that seats i think between 500 - 1000 people with a magnificent stage. It also has an olympic size pool in its basement along with gym n work out equipment. So as i said its a gem of a local spot but it could be a really big national deal that could pool big names if they would just do the work.
Weve only been here once, for a Keller Williams show back in March, but we have nothing but positive things to say. The venue is a great size and the music sounded amazing. The craft beer selection was my absolute favorite thing. The food is delicious, especially the crab cake sandwiches and the bruschetta with the balsamic glaze! We cant wait to hear back for one of their music brunches.
Great open space. Nice atmosphere.
Great atmosphere and a great little music venue
Too much amazing stuff to describe just go there and see how amazing it is!!
Ive spent a decent amount of money at HMAC in the last year. Decent beer menu and good food. I usually have had a great experience with the other customers and the staff, but something must have changed in the quality of people hired. The person we interacted with I had never seen before, but she claimed to be an employee. I was in with a group of friends last night. We chose HMAC to meet for some more serious conversation. One of the female workers came up to our table, started hitting on our group of friends, and even offered to help one of my friends get laid. This worker also started to list off the names of our girls trying to guess our girlfriends names and said, Im just listing all the white girl names because you all have white names. After being asked to leave because we were there to talk among ourselves she got really sarcastic and snarky. It got the point where as she was walking away she swore at me and then mocked me and my friends later. If this was another customer I could care less, but the fact that it was an employee who treated us this way is really disappointing. I want to support local business, but if this is the service that Ill get at HMAC I can go and spend my money other places where I know Ill receive better service.
Great local venue for live music!!
Great beer and friendly staff. The food was outstanding as well
Great concert venue. Loved the tables and chairs concept. Enjoyed Ricki Lee Jones! Parking at the Broad Street Market was easy.
Hello, when are the open mics, I keep seing things about this place for open mics, when are they held
Always a good time at HMAC! They attract a good kind of people! Their food, the atmosphere, lots of friendly people. Very nice building, restrooms, awesome handicap accessibility with a side ramp and an elevator if anyone needs to get up to the second floor! Definitely not a place you sit and run up a tab though, can get a little pricey after you catch a buzz!
Amazing the decor is beautiful and the workers are so nice
Great place roomy and great surroundings! Will go back
The food isnt quite what it once was, but the venue is still awesome, with multiple stages and spaces. Outdoor seating in warmer weather is a big plus, especially since theres plenty of foot traffic and opportunity to run into people you know.
I LOVED spending time here. Great staff, great shows and overall a wonderful experience.
All of the staff was great. The bar downstairs was quiet and the atmosphere was amazing! I would definitely return again.
Went to this venue for a TEDX event. Beautiful natural light and the staff was extremely pleasant. Seating wasnt very spacious. The stage was a decent size for the outward appearance of the venue.
Harrisburg Midtown Arts...GREAT place to wind down on Friday night. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was pleasing. Live Jazz was smooth and soothing. Nice crowd. All were having a good time, enjoying the moment. You wont be disappointed. Namaste.
