Absolutely an amazing course that you must play. Every hole is beautiful, the fairways are in pristine condition and the greens are better yet. Customer service is also great. The course is so hilly you cant believe your on a FL course. By far the best FL course Ive played...and I have played many top rated courses!

Course was in great shape and the greens were crazy, but if you like to drink your own beer then I would go somewhere else. This place is crazy about outside coolers not sure who we are hurting since it told the cart person 8 holes to get to us. Then they search our carts for outside drinks and after that a maintenance man followed us the rest of the way.

I called Bob at the Pro shop to make sure the course condition is perfect as described by most of the reviewers since I am not local in the area. He told me its perfect. Well, Bob, the course is not perfect since there are still visible holes on the greens due to the recent punch. However, I am still rate the course a 5-star since it indeed deserves that. Fun, challenging, great layouts, many huge-deep fluffy bunkers, illusional elevation changes, small undulated greens, terraineous and scenary holes ---- many things that you can describe this wonderful course. Its indeed a must-play course if youre in the area.

This place is a beautiful golf course. But it is pricey and if you not playing in the high 80s or lower your gonna pay alot of money to hit out of the sand all day. The greens are super fast and unreadable. Also you can not take anything beverage wise on the course with you. You must buy it all at the course. They are pretty strict about this

This is a great track. Fun layout and quite well maintained. Lots of sand so be prepared for that. Greens were challenging but rolled quite well.

One of the best courses I played in and around Orlando. Beautiful layout. Tough holes. Lots of bunkers. Definitely tests your accuracy. Greens are undulating, fast and true. Lovely weather and terrific day. Super friendly staff. Tavern has a solid menu for post round drinks and food.

The management here does not have the hospitality capacity to recognize the need for customers who may not be based in Orlando to have ice for water on their care. What is more, the manager argued with me about the courtesy of not being made to purchase things to get a cart sized cooler of ice for our water! Absolutely incompetent! I’m disappointed that in hot central Florida we are forced to purchase something so that the profitability of the club is met over the comfort of the patrons! I purchased a hat and a ball marker... still nothing. I love golf. I love central Florida and what would have been a great review for this course had turned into a strong warning about the lack of professionalism, discourteous treatment and disappointing start to my golf groups round. WONT EVER COME BACK! And to the manager who walked away while I was talking... this is my promised review!

Beautiful designed golf course.Lots of bunker all over the course. Fairway and green conditions good. The staff was friendly and good attitude. My friend lost watch GPS at this course but thanks to their honesty he could get back next the other day.

Very nice course. But, to charge an additional $10 to rent a cart alone without advisement up front is unfair, especially when other courses have no such requirement at this time in the interest of public health and stimulating golf play.

This course was in phenomenal shape! Some holes you play away from hole to accept the bounce. Or go flag hunting if you dare! Must play golf course in Florida! If you love golf!

As a Central Florida resident, this is my must play golf course for the Spring, Summer and early Fall months. However, Im starting to notice a troubling trend with unpublished pricing or inconveniences of certain items (single rider additional cart fee $10, No ice on cart or water on the course), I understand that these are not normal times and some costs may need to be passed through to us golfers. I really dont have as problem with the additional cost/inconveniences as long as theyre published on say SDs website tee time booking page or just bump up the greens fees to cover any additional costs. Just dont surprise me with these things at check in at the clubhouse. its a great course and Ill continue playing it but no more surprises please.

In general the course was in amazing condition. Very difficult course due to sloping fairways and fast undulating greens. Only negative observation is all the holes have a very similar character. But pretty amazing g.its definitely a must play. Ill return on hopefully a less windy day. It was brutal for scoring low. A real challenge for sure.

Decent golf course. Green conditions were fast but very pockmarked. Damage to the greens created bald spots of dirt that were painted over to cover it up. Created inconsistent speeds hole to hole. The course is known for its many sand traps. If you like looking at sand traps you will like this course. Overall was disappointed in the course as it was recommended to me and I found it to be pretty average for Florida golf.

Best course in Florida ever!!! Hands down the best of the best. We will return here every year as we have for 25 years. Even during 9-11.

Brilliant coarse and staff and players around were so friendly. Never seen so many sand traps which made it tricky.. Loved it and highly recommend this fantastic coarse if your on hols and stopping near. Thanks Bob and the team for looking after us..

Beautiful golf course...and as the name implies, you will have to avoid all the sand to score well. The clubhouse serves very good food too. You wont be disappointed.

Sunday Brunch was excellent as always. Chef James is a master! Servers are great, especially Lupe.

Much better than the other four stars in the region. Played other so called 4 stars like Champions Gate and Mission Inn. They were 3 stars at most. Nice layout here and the course was in great condition, I would return here.

Great course! Pleasantly surprised. Wide fairways. The bunkers will bring you to tears if you are stuck in one. Reminds me of Orange National and Celebration. Take the best of both...Southern Dunes.

It’s a good food course with challenging greens, you can go low there but you can also be tested on the par 3’s. The staff are always friendly

We had our Christmas Football Pool Party here with about 40 people. The food was excellent and was presented beautifully.

Never played golf in US before so wasnt sure of protocol regarding bringing payment slip to starter. A headsup from the pro shop would have been nice. Considering Americans normally pride themselves on their customer service, I unfortunately found it a bit lacking on this occasion. The waitress/refreshment cart girl and bag boy on the other hand very courteous. I did enjoy the golf course and would play it again.

Beautiful layout with a multitude of elevation changes unlike most Florida courses. If you enjoy the challenge of 100+ sand traps, garbage bunkers, this course will surely satisfy. Generous fairways. Unfortunately many of the greens are under repair and will not be corrected for 3-4 months. 5 star when greens are playable

On Sunday early afternoons it usually takes more than an hour to order, and receive, a sandwich. The waitresses are friendly yet overwhelmed. The sandwiches are ok in appearance and taste.

Great course, in great shape. With 180 bunkers, most extremely deep, it was tough, but fair and tiring!

This is a must play if you are in the area. Course is very well maintained and even after the heavy rains you wouldnt know except for a few bunkers, out of the 100s.. Btw practice your bunker play, you will find a few bunkers!!!

Very nice golf course. 183 sand traps, which are amazing. Huge bunkers, but easy to hit out of. I am not a good golfer and hate sand, but I had no problem. The course was in excellent shape, and well maintained. Only downfall was the greens were all under repair which made putting very difficult. GPS in the carts which is always great to have

This typically is a great course.....but once again they are losing their greens and are still charging top fees. Fun layout with plush fairways and well groomed bunkers. Great stop for the 19th hole also. I hope they get a handle on the fungus problem by next year. I certainly will be checking the reviews before returning.

We ate here once before and the food was amazing......only to notice after we were done eating that the floor was moving.....with roaches... everywhere. Told the staff and they didn’t seem too concerned even though it was like an episode of the show Infested. Sad to say will not be back. Such a shame because the food was excellent.

Love this place, very secure gated community with a mixture of both residential and villas for holiday lettings. Large Walmart just at entrance and great club house serving good food and drinks. Golf course is challenging with super fast greens.

Just played yesterday, July 23rd, 2018. First, despite a wet June/July and heavy thunderstorms the day before, the track was incredible to play. Only a couple of wet spots and nothing impacting normal play. The conditions were incredible. This is a must play course when in the Orlando/Haines City area. Depending on the season, the fees can be a little high at times but you are rewarded with a wonderfully conditioned golf course. Plenty of tee choices for all handicap levels. Golf staff very courteous. One thing I always recommend and people should do is when booking always call the course and check for current conditions. Ive seen some reviews where people are critical of a course due to aeration or other NEEDED maintenance needs. The course was aerated about 2.5 weeks ago but the greens were incredibly well healed. The aeration helps with the greens being thick and able to hold your iron shots so must be done. I always call the courses I want to play and verify the current conditions. Right now, Southern Dunes is a must play!!!

My groups favorite course in the US outside the top ranked 25 courses in the US. (And we have played almost all of those) Just a fun, fun course with a great layout. Greens roll fast & true if they dont have mold issues which has happened twice.

To many sand traps hidden behind other traps .for first time players tjis is not good would take out half traps and install palm trees

The food is gorgeous and the staff are so friendly, would definitely recommend.

Pretty good atmosphere. Foods ok, but could be better quality. Had the taco salad and the beef was crunchy and overcooked. They replaced the salad and it looked the same. Finally on the 3rd try they got it perfect, but by then my family was done eating their meal and got to watch me eat!

Golf course is one of the best, they need to improve the opening times at the club house. If you play after 3.00pm youll find the club house closed at 8.00pm

Overall course was in good condition. The combination of sand (and there are a lot of sand traps) and wind (winds 25 to 35 MPH the day we played) made the course extremely challenging. Will play again when its not so windy ...

I would temper expectations when booking Southern Dunes for the foreseeable future. Golfed there today and the greens were easily the worst greens I have ever rolled; dead patches, bumpy, and painted green to cover up the discoloration. Definitely not worth the $107 greens fee per person. Take your money elsewhere until you can be assured the greens are repaired.

What a hidden Gem! Only 20 minutes from Disney, we stayed in a Home with a private pool on the most beautiful Golf Course! The country club was great, gated community, Walmart basically in the community lol all the restaurants and stores you need within walking distance of community entrance
