Flashy new front to classic beautiful MD Theater. Went to see Resurrection A Journey Tribute Band. Sound was good. Light show was lacking. Bathrooms...why not improve the bathrooms when they blocked off the road for 6 months to build the fancy front?? Staircase not complete but in use. Close by parking. But make reservations at any neighboring restaurants or you wont get to eat before the show.

Beautiful historic theater with lots of charm. A bit difficult to navigate during construction going on right now but super excited to see the completed project in the fall. Hoping it keeps as much of the historic charm as it gains in modern convenience and accessibility.

Outstanding example of historic Maryland. This is among, if not the first, theater built upon the East Coast. Still kept and continually renewed original structure. Carvings inside on the box seats are beautiful. There is carving in porcelain and wood. All hand done work. A great little place to visit.

The remodeling of facility is beautiful, love the tin ceiling and the grand entrance/staircase. Attended the Christmas Carol December 8th and the show was great!!! Will definitely go again next year. We arrived 30 minutes prior to the show and I need to mention, it is a little unorganized once inside the theatre doors. No signs letting you know which door(s) should be used to enter the show. We purchased a beverage and went upstairs to have a seat while waiting on the show to start only to have a gentleman come up and say everybody downstairs you aren’t allowed up here..who knew?? There are no signs indicating the upstairs is off limits until after the show starts. Would highly recommend communicating either via signs and/or personnel where to go once inside and what is off limits.

The theater is under renovation and is looking great. We had balcony seats with a terrific view of the stage. We had to descend around 10 or 12 steps to get to our seats but there is no handrail. At my age, that is dangerous! The leg room is a little tight when sitting for several hours but the theater has such old world charm, its worth a little discomfort to experience this venue. I feel blessed to have this lovely theater in our tiny town. And parking in the garage was TWO dollars. Try finding that in a big city.

In reply to comment about the balcony shaking. I managed the theatre and the balcony is designed to do that. Its totally appropriate and very safe. Thomas Lamb designed the building. He was one of the best theatre architects of his time and many of buildings are still in use today, like the Hippodrome in Baltimore and the Beacon in NY.

Very pretty before I bridal expo it was set up kind of weird and it was a lot smaller than I expected I thought there would be a lot more staying or opportunities to win prizes and the way they did the prizes was confusing all in all though it was my first one since getting engaged and it was pretty cool with my family and I did win a prize and was able to set up a dress appointment somewhere I didnt expect that Im looking forward to and I was able to try on some wedding bands and figure out like the bands that I want

Great historic venue, can speak as both an audience member and a performer. I have not seen much of the progress of recent renovation, but the theatre exudes a very classy charm, and they keep a decent run of shows. Seating is relatively spacious and all facilities are kept clean.

Paid top dollar for tickets to Rythem of the dance thinking I was getting great seats. I was in one of the boxes. Tickets were twice what they were in other areas. When we got there there were 2 other people in the box sitting in front of us on the same level even though our tickets said front row. They were probably the worst seats in the entire theatre. No joke and the most expensive. We ended up in the balcony but only because the theatre was not full. They owe me some money back

Beautiful stage that is perfect for hosting any type if stage contest. They are going under construction soon as the front of the building was destroyed in a fire in 1971. The cunstruction plans sound amazing and you can help contribute by donating by the end of 2019. Overall I love this theater and cant wait to see it in its new and more original form.

The building is under construction and yet there was plenty of access and the ushers were helpful getting everyone in/out of the building. Unfortunately thats the only nice thing I can say.Went to see Grease and what a major disappointment. Was hoping to see a show that reflected the classic movie but there was nothing about this performance that resembled the movie. The acting was forced. The actors didnt bri g the characters to life. Sandy was played by a brunette while in the movie Sandy was a blonde. The T-Birds in the movie had a swag about them and the boys in this production had NO swag. This production of Grease felt like the story was all over the place. There were songs sung out of place. Now, for my seating. I paid for balcony seating but thats not what I got. I got seats behind an organ and couldnt see the stage. If they are going to sell all the seats, the staff and crew needs to sit in every seat during rehearsal and just see what they see. Total and major disappointment all around. To drive 1.5 hour to see an iconic musical and not have total view of the stage was a waste of money and time. The best playhouse to visit is definitely The Totem Pole playhouse in PA. Wont be disappointed there
