A member invited us to go sailing on the club boat. It was a beautiful day on the lake.

We are catamaran sailors (Hobie 16) and couldnt be more thrilled to have found this club! Not many marinas support catamaran sailing the way GYC does. Great group of people - friendly and welcoming. Regularly scheduled practice races on Saturdays are a fantastic way to spend time together with fellow sailors and sharpen sailing skills.

Joined a bit ago. Being a mono-hull sailor, did not feel welcome. They welcomed my money, but little interaction for new members was received by my wife and me. Every time an officer spoke with me, it was to inform me of one rule or another. Rarely a hi, and how are you. If your are a Cat sailor, I would imagine that it is a fine place, but would not recommend it to any others. Few social events I did attend, notice lots of critical gossiping about other members. Plenty of other sailing clubs in St. Petersburg area. I recommend looking at others.
