This park is so pretty. Especially in the fall. It has playgrounds and lots of trails. We love going here & letting the kids run around
Not bad. We did our family fall photos here. Looks like a great sledding Hill too.
Huge beautiful park with trails and 2 pavilions for picnics and 2 big playgrounds. Occasionally airplanes take off and land very close by. Our new favorite place to go!
Overall it was clean and well maintained. The fish werent biting, but otherwise had a good morning out with the kids. Nice large area and two playgrounds---one more suited to younger kids the other for older kids.
Lovely. Well maintained. Facilities. Playground, fishing, hiking, biking. Fire rings. Hay rides, if you call and arrange. Oak Savannah Biking trail leads there. Pond. Birds. Winter Sledding hill, bring no sleds with runners, though. Can ski trails, bring your xcountry skiis. Great place!
VERY BEAUTIFUL,SCENIC, AND CLEAN PRESERVE. SAFE. WELL KEPT. LOTS OF WILDLIFE. BEAUTIFUL WILDFLOWERS. A MUST SEE. LOVE IT HERE
Its a nice quiet place to walk trails in the woods. If you dig Pokémon Go there is a Pokéstop there as well.
I went ecploring here still need to make new videos but it is really good.
My grandkids love the hill, park it always clean .
Wonderful place for family. Bathrooms were horrible. Unuasable
Great place to relax with the kids good place to view nature and catch some big fish. Go see for urself
Loved coming here as a kid great place trails are beautiful and so is the lake
Excellent outdoor opportunity for enjoying nature and Gods Creation!!! A must try fir kids of all ages.
The trails are always something nice to do. Theyre all intertwined so its easy to not get lost. The little pier that overlooks the lake when you enter the park is so peaceful. I always find myself being able to meditate here. Some of the trails have been paved over recently and its easier for a smooth bike ride. The trails in the forest are my favorite. My boyfriend and I always enjoy being outdoors. We got lucky to have Oak Ridge so close to us.
Beautiful,place clean areas.
I love coming to this place to fish:) its very relaxing
The trails and the lake are very pretty and calming. Nature bath.

Chick at the gate seemed to be high on pills probably. Caught 10 bass and 25 bluegills.
Amazingly beautiful.I had forgotten how peaceful this place was.Must do list.
Very nice place for the family!
My kids absolutely love the park here and being able to walk the trails is a nice bonus. However, It is getting a little ran down now. Seems park maintenance/upkeep has dropped significantly. Still a nice place to take the family.
It rained the day I went but it was a nice park
Nice walking paths. Very peaceful.
Trail is paved, but many pavement buckles. Other than that this is a fine way to Chesterton and from there to the Indians dunes state park.
Nice trail, but railroad crossing was blocked by a train that didnt appear to be in a hurry to move on. We were walking, so didnt want to go any further anyway.
A very clean, spacious, and secluded place to have large gatherings. All the staff are very helpful.
Nice paved trail in the forestbut they charge to park
Not bad but need a little weed control on the pond
The park is well maintained and clean new playground equipment plus your close enough to watch aircraft taking off and landing at griffith Airport a very quiet place to relax and enjoy nature !!!
Grew up walking these trails. Love this park
The park has nice trails and scenery, although my favorite part was the giant hill.
So peaceful, lots of trees, a playground and sitting area, lookouts and a bathroom...just needed to relax and it helped to just be there
Beautiful park come when it is dry
Favorite place to take a quiet walk with the kids. Thank a god for bathrooms as well.
Peaceful, great parks, lovely pond and trail!
Wonderful ...place love it
Nice park to ride your bike, and explore the trails by either walking or running! The bike trail loops into the park and connects with the connecting (new) bike trail! Fishing is also enjoyed here by fellow park enthusiasts as well. The big hill in the park could also be used for sledding. So an all around weather park.
Great beans and shells love Ritas tacos deep fried
Its a small park, with a playground and small fishing pond and that also have a hill for sledding
Nice place to go and not a lot of ppl out i liked that it seem that i had the whole place to my self peaceful
A nice quiet place to do some soul searching
This trail is just okay. The good is that its a good 3.5-4 miles of wooded trails plus miles of paved trails. Im a hiker, so Im rating this place on that basis. The trails are mown regularly and kept free of debris. Its rarely crowded on the wooded trails, so I can let the dogs run around and train them for when we go camping. They usually only charge admission on weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day, so you can park there for free most of the time ($5 otherwise or $40 annual Lake County park pass). Its open year-round and great for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The trails are moderately scenic. There are areas with ferns that I like and tons of oak trees. Other than one leg through a field, the trail is mostly shaded. There are also a couple of ponds and wildlife such as deer, geese, and turtles that I see fairly often. Some things to know are that there are mosquitoes, ticks, and thorns in the wooded areas. I always wear long shirts and pants when hiking there and check the dogs afterward. I also use bug spray and a head net during the summer (the mosquitoes are thick then). The trails also flood in parts during rainy periods. They can be quite a slog then, and I dont recommend hiking them at those times. There are three bridges. Two are in excellent condition, but one is on its last leg and lists to one side, which makes it tricky to cross when wet.Other amenities (not reflected in my rating) include a fishing pond and two picnic pavilions with playgrounds. Theres a sledding hill and the paved trail is part of the Erie Lackawanna bike trail stretching from Crown Point to Hobart. There is no drinking water, so bring your own.
It was awesome doing paranormal stuff with John and Leslie.
One of my favorite parks to visit. They have great walking trails which double as cross country skiing trails in the winter. There are 2 child playgrounds, multiple pavillions (available for rent), and a large hill which is multipurpose. There are cemented trails as well as grass trails, some of which run parrallel to the Griffith Airport, so you can watch smaller aircrafts takeoff and land, kind of romantic. I would recommend this part to everyone. There is even an unloading dock making it handicap friendly.
Use to go there 20 years, didnt have to pay entrance fee, and trails were groomed throughout the park. Went today, paid $5 which I dont mind but no trails groomed anywhere. So sad not being able to see all the beauty the park has to offer throughout.
I go walking through the park an hour or so each day
Beautiful scenery. Great walking trail.
Very nice place for those who like grassland with nearby fishing pond with picnic spot with children play area.... along with natural silence and beautiful scenery...Cost : $5 per car.... but i guess this cost thing starts sometime in summer, otherwise its free to visit....
Ive always loved coming here and so has my dog. Theres playgrounds for kids, pavilions for parties, and trails for days. Also a huge hill that is awesome for sledding. It can get marshy at times just be forewarned if its rained in the past few days stick to the paved paths.
Love this place. Parking is $5 if attendant is on duty. Trails are awesome. They also have a view deck to watch planes land and take off! Park definatly need some major renovating as it is showing major signs of wear. A good place to take the fam for a walk though!
Wonderful! Cant wait to schedule a family reunion summer of 2019!
Great place for a Hayride...
Ive only been out here to run during winter but I love it. So far my favorite place to run! Beautiful and serene.
Beautiful scenery great memories bird nests in the playground made it educational for children
This bike trail provided lovely sights across some fascinating and, sadly, now uncommon habitats. The oak savannas and prairies are great settings for the path and park.
Open bathroom!!
This a great trail. Runs from Oak ridge prairie in Griffith to Hobart. Just a short jaunt down Colfax gets you to the Erie Lackawanna Trail. Oak Ridge Prairie is a sizeable park with 2 playgrounds, flat trails (some paved some grass), a fishing pond, a sledding hill, and plenty of parking.
Beautiful
Great sites. Always clean. Dogs love it!
Just passing thru... Streets are pretty dark so you may run into all kinds of wildlife!
Excellent park, lots to keep the family entertained.
To get some great pictures and open sky this is the place to be!
