Got great tasting popcorn. Just hope to soon get to go to the movies again safely

My husband and I haven’t been to the movies in soooo long because it’s so expensive. Because of the price... we don’t even put it in the mix of options when we plan date night. For some reason, a movie sounded good and we found this theater! (We have lived in portland less than a year)It’s SO CHEAP and we saw a double feature. The concession had great prices too. It only plays 1 movie at a time but that was fine by us! We saw Ralph breaks the Internet and the Mule. :) something I’ve never seen before personally, is it had, like a coffee shop in it. Pretty neat. It’s also walking distance from downtown Gresham, so if you wanted to have dinner, it’s convenient.We will be back!

Its an old very cool theater, people are friendly, prices are less than half for movies and popcorn etc compared to the big chain movie places. They generally have movies that came out a few months ago not 1st run but thats fine with me! Pay alot less to see it later

My friends lives in Gresham so we went to dinner and a movie. My Hood is a long standing Gresham business. It is a classic. The admission for seniors and kids is very reasonable. So if you want to go out and see a newer run film in a Theatre this is a good place to go. Since I am a senior and shop for good deal I like this place. I only paid $2.50 for admission. Concessions are pretty reasonable for a theater and they even have a kid pack which I believe includes a popcorn, a drink and candy. I was also told by my friend that their popcorn is good too. How can you go wrong if you are on a budget or even if you are not and live in Gresham this is always a good option.

Ive been coming since High school. Back then I went almost every Friday night, even if the movie hadnt changed. We saw T2 and Point Break 4x!! 2 movies for 2 bucks.More recently I go once-in-a-while with my mom who still lives in town. The price has increased, but not much compared to the big theater chains. This place is not new and fancy, but I love the charm of these old converted theaters. I think the sound and screen are just fine. The seating has been upgraded since I first went in the early 90s, not exactly sure when, but not new now. Tuesday nights are the cheaper night, but Friday they still offer the double feature for one price. Fun times, great value.

Drive up. Order pop corn. Drive home happy. Friendly people. Lots of treats. Check it out.

Best local small theatre. Best prices in town. They dont get the movies right when they release in theaters but if youre willing to wait, your wallet will thank you. Great staff of local residents.

We love Mt Hood Theatre! You cant beat the price! The staff is always very friendly. The entire theatre is always clean (even the bathrooms!). The theatre itself does not fell like a 2nd run theatre. The surround sound and acoustics are great, and the seats are comfy.

Always love movie theaters like this. Just one big theater with pretty comfortable seating quality picture and sound and great prices! Has that family feel to it, nice to support a local business. It’s conveniently located and I go here often.highly recommend it!

Love the hometown feel, great value for family movie viewing. Popcorn is AWESOME!!! During quarantine, have made it a point to stop by each Saturday for their drive-up popcorn.

I love this little theater. It only offers 1 movie at a time to watch and they arent the newest Like in the bigger ones but they are as new as new releases in redbox. Cheap prices and the food is greatly priced. Not like the expensive concession in the larger theaters. Plus they have a cute coffee bar.

They make the best blended mochas! I would give them 5 stars but they are inconsistent with opening the coffee shop. They say the staff isnt trained, or make you wait until after the movie starts. They could be making so much money in coffee alone if they were open at least during movie hours. This is a great old time movie theater. Its not luxury seating, but they have great prices, and good popcorn!

Lovely, classic theatre with a big, beautiful screen and terrific sound system. While there is a nostalgic ambience, this gem is in excellent condition. The staff are always genuinely warm and helpful; the concessions are top notch and quite reasonably priced (as is admission).

I loved this place! Its neighborhood, you know?Wife and I went as wed missed the movie during its first run in the big theatres... glad we did. Admission, popcorn and drinks was less than ticket price at R----- Cinimas. More, it has a friendly charm that big places just dont have.There will be some movies I cant wait to see, but there are a lot of movies I didnt get to... and Ill be looking for them here. You should too!4 stars? Because 5 stars is perfect and this place isnt supposed to be that.

Maybe this is just me, but I find the seats at Mt Hood to be sooo much comfier than other theatres. The sound is good. The screen seems smallish compared to newer theatres, but once the movie is on I dont really notice.

This place is great. They are always looking for ways to bring the family together for movies. Their season pass is pretty cool if you have kids and want to catch a movie a week with them. Other than that the prices are extremely reasonable for going to the movies.

Picking up my popcorn was fast and easy.

When we cant go to this theatre for awhile we really miss it! The service is great and personal. The food concessions are inexpensive and fresh. The movies are always changing. One could go here almost every week and get a great experience every time!

This is one of my favorite movie theaters! Great friendly service, great shows and great prices! Love the kid pack, popcorn, soda & just the right size candy for four bucks! What a deal! Highly recommended!

This was a fun little theater. The afternoon showing is great for after the kids get out of school. The pop corn and goodies are not insanely priced. The staff was friendly and helpful as this was our first time here. I would recommend this place for a nice family outing. We will go again.

Our family just loves this theater! This is a nice old-fashioned BIG theater with great prices and fresh concessions. (In the summer you can get soft-serve ice cream, too.) The theater is very well-kept and the seats are in very good condition - its really nice! The staff are super friendly and welcoming. This is a great place for a date or the whole family. I also like that were supporting a local business instead of one of those national mega-chains. The first time we went as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, I couldnt believe that we got in AND got a big snack pack for less than $40 total. Thats incredible! Last time we went to a chain theater, I think the snacks alone were $40. Come check this out, even if you have to make a little drive to get here. Its worth it!

I once had a teen kick the back of my chair for 2 hours straight.I was going to confront him but he looked like jesus and I didnt want to offend our good lord and savior.I didnt know this could help lower back pain but ta da Im cured! Couldnt recommend this place more for that sweaty smell of success and coconut oil buttered topping.

Love coming here. Great for date nights!! And cheap as all hell especially with a groupon. Wheelchair friendly. Only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because its $0.50 for a water cup! Kinda dumb but other than that this is a great spot.

My fiance and i will be sad if thid place ever closes. The staff are very friendly and they just got new ones which are younger but i cam understand since they dont charge much for the movies or the popcorn so they have yo save money somewhere. The movies are a month or two to get there then the release date. But it is a nice date to take on date night.

A great sound system and freshly made popcorn are just two of the offerings at the Mount Hood theater. Historic building has been restored which is wonderful to see. Old style theater with a sloped floor means youll actually be able to see the screen and its not a giant metroplex, its your standard old school theater showing one movie at a time and we love it.

This is a historic old theater, but very nice including a quaint cafe with an eating bar looking out on the town, inside the theater. In the cafe is a clean restroom. The theater inside is rather large and all staff were very friendly and professional. We ordered popcorn and pop etc and the prices were much less than some newer theaters much to my delight! I guess its less known because it wasnt crowded.

Prices are great but the beauty of the theater is a must see. Best second run theatre. Snacks were a fair price. And they had a little coffee shop inside that made coffees, milkshakes and smoothies. They also make there own soft serve flavored ice cream.

I call this a cheap date with the kids. Second-run movies at a good price, and the theater is huge--an old-time theater with a full auditorium. Its partly accessible--a wheelchair can get in and access the theater, but the ramp inside is steep (up). Also, disabled people will want to sit nearer the back because of the steep downward slope as you head toward the front. The bathroom is not at all accessible--there are stairs.

This theatre is so fun. Its a vintage throw back locally-owned joint with comfortable seats and cheap snacks. Double Feature Friday was my favorite !! 2 movies for $4 and the sound system was great. The owners themselves greeted us. You dont get that service at theatres any more !!

I love this theater! I remember when I was a child back in the 60s seeing matinees at this theater. It was so much fun and the fun continues to this day. The theater has a welcoming feeling to it. I dont like the big theaters as it seems all they want is your money with inflated pricing. I feel at home here. It keeps childhood memories alive.

Huge screen and the best sounding movie theater Ive ever heard! The surround sound and top rate audio system will blow you away! I wait for movies to expire out of the over priced new theaters to come here. Why not see it later on a better screen and sound for just $4.50? Beautiful classic 1950 building has enormous auditorium style seating that slopes into a top tier towards the back. Great vantage point from any seat to see the show. Popcorn is amazing as well. Perfect!

The theater was great. The screen was big and the sound felt real. The staff were friendly and helping us a lot. The food was affordable and tastes pretty good. I would come back here again each time I wanted to see a movie. It was kind of cold in the theater though so I would only come on a hot summer day.

Wonderful old fashioned theatre with good seats, a balcony, great ticket prices, great concession prices! They get 2nd run movies, so if you want to see a movie the second it comes out, this is not the place for you. But if you can see it a couple of weeks later, its worth it to wait.We took our grandkids and they loved it. Lots of ambiance, great painting on the walls of the theater and they are one of the few theaters with a balcony.Great neighborhood landmark!

Rad, old-school movie theater. Theyre putting in new seats starting from the front. I have issues with crowds and havent been able to go to many opening weeks. Getting to catch a movie on the big screen before its gone, good prices on snacks and tickets, plenty of room to stay away from other people in the seats. You could ask for more, but youre probably not going to get it

This theater is a classic throwback to a more glorious time in movie going history. Only one theater, but its huge. Ive been going to movies here since the 80s. Though it is getting a bit worn, the current owners seem to be keeping the place in good shape and have been replacing some of the older seating.Great place for cheap movies. They do second run movies, so its good if you missed the big movies during theyre first run. The concessions are a decent deal of you get a package. Save your drink cup if you buy a refill package, they need to see it to honor the deal.

Cheap price, cant go wrong. Bigger would be better but its good to keep prices down.

Awesome hidden gem! Would have been a 5 star if they had beer on tap!
