It doesn’t smell like piss or dead rat! Great animals and employees! I love their selection of tarantulas, beetles, and millipedes. Their fish and reptiles look really healthy too. I recommend this store to anyone beginning to collect tarantulas, most staff know tons about them!

Absolutely love this place and have been coming here for well over a decade. Theyve just moved locations and it is set up so much better than the last shop theres more space everything is organized better you can tell where everything is in the staff seemed much happier to be there than where they were. Then again they were always helpful and cheerful whenever Ive ever been there. They hire well knowledged people. The owner of the company especially is pleasant and extremely knowledgeable! Clean and friendly environment. Because of their knowledge Im able to keep very healthy fish tanks and other animals in my home!

The Uncle Bills pet store Greenwood Indiana is forcing their employees that have COVID to work today. My niece is the cashier, and being forced to work 12 hours with no break or lunch break, with the employees that have the virus. They have not nor currently are disinfecting anything. If this is not addressed and the store closed for proper cleaning and employees not sent home to quarantine, Im taking this to OCEA, PERIOD! YOU HAVE ONE HOUR!!!!

Love this pet store!!! Its the best one on the southside of town. I also like the new location. Its much bigger which makes for a better shopping experience. They have an awesome selection of animals and the staff are always kind and courteous.

I’ve had some mixed experiences at this shop. I got mainly for their Dubia Roaches for my Bearded Dragon. They are hard to find and I’m happy this shop supplies them. Unfortunately depending on the worker, you have some that will give you wrong sizes, won’t actually count them, and just in general some really bad advice for your pet. I was told by a general manger that I should use oats to feed my roaches. The next week I was told by a different employee “yea our manger isn’t the smartest sometimes. You’re never suppose to feed them oats.”Lastly things are NEVER cheaper than any other pet store. If price is important I would suggest petco, pet smart or even amazon

Prices are way to high. Good grief! $450 for a kitten? A KITTEN!!!! Yes, you read that right. Thats ridiculous, especially for that species of animal. Id paid 450 for a pup, depending on breed but not a kitten. Other merchandise is a decent price.

I bought my golden retriever from Uncle Bills. She already had a slice in her tongue when i bought her (she was 2500 dollars). Shes now 3 years old and is unusually small. This particular location is better than other locations but in general I dont recommend them. If you have to shop at uncle bills this location looks better on the inside than others. But they sell dogs that dont have 100% perfect breeding and health. I love my baby girl!!!!! But she does look and act like she came from a puppy mill. She coughs a lot and burps a lot every day and gets wheezey quite a bit. She has had regular vet care and she gets probiotics. She is not the picture of health.Still love her. Even though she was a purchase she WAS rescued from uncle bills.

They had the cutest little dog. Yorkie shitzu mix. I saw it online. I called and they refused to give me a price over the phone. I drove 330 miles to find out itsnot registered and they want 4200.00 for it.

Have a nice selection of items that you don’t find at other stores, but everything is overpriced to say the least. Everything in the saltwater section is dying. I’ve never seen a healthy anemone there and every fish looks stressed or dying. Out of the salt fishes I’ve purchased in the past year, either online or local this place is the only place I’ve had them die in my tank and you don’t get a refund within 24 hours...Just store credit.... long story short... don’t buy their livestock, but they do have rarely kept items like pods, etc

I bought a dwarf rabbit from this store along with everything i needed to take care of it. After having it for 2 days, i noticed the rabbit wasnt acting right. I took it to the vet and turns out he has so many underlying issues i didnt know about and it died 2 days after i got it. Never getting an animal from here again.

I went in to uncle bills just to look around at all the animals. I asked one of the workers if i could hold a ferret. And she let me hold one. She was really nice. The only problem was that the prices were very high. But I will definitely be going back.

We have had three experiences with the puppies from here. Rescue places were empty. Our dogs have healthy dispositions with zero health issues. Absolutely the best service EVER! Knowledge is there for what I needed and happily helped me. They have tons of staff and we really liked that too.

Went there with my son to purchase some fish.. An employee named Albert helped us out and it couldnt have been a better experience. Very knowledgeable and amazing customer service. Will definitely be going back! Thanks again

Came here to buy a corn snake. The man who assisted me was weirdly condescending and dismissive, as if he had something better to do and wanted to get rid of me. What I am most concerned about, however, is that this person lied to me by saying the snake had been fed earlier that day. As you can see from the attached photos, there was no visible bulge whatsoever, and the snake is small enough that even a pinkie would be evident. Why would he lie about this? Does he regularly lie to customers? While a snake isnt going to starve if it has to wait a little longer than usual to be fed, such misinformation could be fatal to other animals.I love this snake dearly, but regret giving my money to this store.

I absolutely love this place. The people are amazing and their selections of pets is incredible. I could spend hours in this place just looking around. I got my teddy bear, bearded dragon, panther chameleon, bernese mountain dog, and several fish from here. Theyre the best!!! You will pay a little more, but I promise you will get what you pay for.

I’ve gone to this location multiple times now and they do nothing but try to make you feel stupid. They refused to sell me fish (3 times now) and belittled me acting like I had never had a salt tank before.. very rude very unprofessional.

I decided I wanted to get a snake so I went to uncle bills and Not even 24 hrs after having the snake he passed away.. in the end I did receive all of my money back for all the supplies and the snake! Needless to stay I will never purchase another item from uncle bills ! I’ve heard nothing but bad things about them and decided to go there anyways and this is what happened.. I refuse to buy another animal or anything from people who simply do not care about the animals health or well-being... It’s inhumane!

Pricey, but the employees seem very knowledgeable and you can find many products you dont see at big box stores such as Petco or Petsmart. For reference I am a fish keeper so its nice that I can find some more niche fish products at a local store.

My family was in the area and we decided to stop in. We enjoyed looking at all the various animals. The pricing on rabbits/ferrets/hamsters/guinea pigs was all very fair. The birds & fish were also priced very reasonably. I have read the copy and paste answer on other reviews as to why the dogs are outrageously priced and it still doesnt make any sense. There are breeders in the surrounding areas selling dogs that are bred for show and cost 50% less. We witnessed a young girl who was shopping with her parents and she had her heart set on a French Bulldog. The sign said that no one could play with her unless they were serious about buying. The mom said they were serious but would like to know the price. $7,000!!! The little girl was heartbroken. This is not the place to shop for a dog if you are an average household.

The cashiers are great. I get dubia roaches and theres a couple ladies who get squeamish about them. It makes me laugh. I brought my beardy in one day and here had everyones attention.

My kids and I aimlessly wandered into Uncle Bills just to browse. We were greeted within a timely manner. My children asked to hold a ferret. Ian the store manager offered his assistance without hesitation. He was kind and very informative about the animal. I can say I do appreciate good customer service when its given! Great job guys!

Great place for any pet need. I shop there for the huge aquarium selection they carry. If i could ask for one thing itd be for a wider range of aquatic plants. (Hard to keep once)

I was sold a blood python from here, everything was fine, clean substrate, and snake looked healthy. I come back from Texas, come to find out there were snake mites everywhere, and my snake was dead. I will never buy from this store again. Note, Ive had my ball pythons for four years, and yet to have mites, now I have to quarantine my other pythons. $160 down the drain!

Been going to Uncle Bills literally 30 years. Apparently that does not mean anything. I used to go to the store when Stacy ran the fish room and we became close friends. I would never consider going anyplace else for my pet needs. For the last several years, I have had very large tanks in the 300-500 gallon range and cannot really buy livestock from an LFS as I have South Americans and they would just be eaten like feeders. However, I have recently moved and set up a small 75 community tank to stay in the hobby and have made several purchases at the Greenwood store. This evening was a different experience. My wife and I were running a few errands in town and decided to stop and see what was on sale in the tanks. We saw a tag that read 2 Silver Dollars for $6 so I asked the guy to see if he could fish a couple out for me. A few mins later when he was bagging them, I said so you found two I guess? and he replied there are actually three in there. I said make me a deal on the third one and Ill take him too. He said hed have to get authorization from the manager. I went to talk to a guy I have never seen before, but I followed him and talked to the guy myself. I said that I bought two of the Silver Dollars @ $3 each and would but the last one they had for $2. He said, why would I Want to do that?. Then he said let me try to understand you logic, are you wanting the last one so no one else can buy it? I said no, I just wanted it to go with the other two. Why would someone ask me a question like that?? I wont be going back.

Uncle Bills is the best pet store that I have been to! They have a wide variety of fish, and the staff were very nice. There was a young man named Curtis that showed us aquariums, gravel, siphons, water conditioners, and fish food. He took his time to show me not only what I asked for, but gave me tips and told me things that he recommended. We need more people like Curtis! I will definitely go there again to get more fish and supplies when I need them. I also love the new store. Much bigger and there is more space. The place was very tidy and neat. An amazing experience was that I got to meet Uncle Bill himself! He was very nice and understanding. Keep up the good work!

I’ve been coming to uncle bills for 2/3 years, the staff has always been (usually) friendly and helpful, however some of the staff have seem to get a bit testy, I understand we all have our days, but I hate getting responses with clear annoyance in their tone, especially since it takes everything in me to ask for help to begin with. ( social anxiety) I’ve always had the best luck with their fish selection, the extra dollar or 2 is worth it. Nearly all my glofish died from petsmart, after they replaced them and those ones died too, I went to uncle bills, and all of the fish I bought are still Alive. The only thing I wish I could change about uncle bills, is how they keep their poor bettas! Such small bowls :(.. they need at least 2.5 gallons, those bowls are hardly a gallon. I get you can’t give bettas their proper care while waiting to be bought, but they can certainly be kept in something bigger than a .5 gallon bowl. Why don’t you just divide a couple 20 gallon Longs into 4 sections? That way you can put snails in the tank too, you could sell snails, live plants,some shrimp all in one tank.. and the betta will be much healthier which increases sales. Run a sponge filter and hook up a heater and it’s already 80% better than those tiny glass bowls in the shelves.

This was our first time @this location. My kids and I had a great time here. We were able to hold almost* all of the critters we asked to see. The most memorable was an adorable wittle hedgehog. We looked @all the various pets available. There was a fainting(?) beetle, a bird-eating tarantula (which I thought Id never have the opportunity to see). The only thing I miss was the skunks they had in (@the E. Washington location) nearly 5 or 6 years ago. I always wanted a skunk, ever since I found out they could be kept as pets. (I was like 7.)Anyhow, this place is clean, the prices are reasonable, and the animals are always in great health. We were able to meet the famous Uncle Bill himself during our time here. He was so kind, and accommodating. He carefully picked up a little budgie and let my 2yo pet it. It was the cutest thing to witness.

This establishment is in need of re-pricing. How they can stay in business is beyond my ability to understand. Their puppies are not full bred they are mixed with overinflated full bred pricing.

We went to some other pets stores and didnt find what we needed. Uncle Bills came through and had what we needed. My opinion is that they also have pretty good prices.

If you are here to buy supplies, this place is great. However, if you are here to adopt a puppy they are very over-priced. They, also, do not tell you the correct breed of their dogs. If you are here for their smaller animals, you should have no problems. Overall, this place is great.

Ehh I like the remodel of the new store. I go here in a pinch. I think the prices are a little high compared to amazon or eBay but when I dont have time to wait for shipping i go here. The brids are pricey to but they normally have a decent selection. Thanks for being my crutch when I need it the most!

We were so impressed with the assistance of Manager Vito (don’t know his last name) at the Greenwood Uncle Bill’s location that I actually wanted to write a review. We were looking at different breeds/mixed-breeds of dogs to see what we want after the passing of our precious Maltese a few days ago. Vito does NOT get commission on selling us a puppy, yet he took all the time we needed to educate us on the different breeds and mixed breeds...and allowed us to just think and spend time with no pressure or hovering. He expressed COMPASSION on losing our baby and shared his own experience. He has many pets of his own...and the love of his job and dedication shows. Nice people who work hard don’t often get recognition...so this was one small way we could thank him.

Employees very helpful and knowledgeable.Daughter purchasing a gecko and came up many time to ask the lizard guys questions. They were very nice and answered every one. You will get my families business again.

I like Uncle Bills. Most of the employees are pretty knowledgeable about pet care. Much more than most of the people at Petsmart or Petco. Plus you can usually get help pretty easily at Uncle Bills.

We come here pratically every day but Puppies are expensive but staff are very friendly. Also we we there not to long ago and there was no cuttlebone in the birds cages that is ridiculous and unsafe. Also I just looked at some of the reviews and a former staff member wrote a review. If you are considering a pup from here look at her review! And they do not take complaints or requests seriously.

Warning :Since moved to new location quality has drop. I would give a no star if possible. Upon my visit i came across this spiney tailed lizard of some sort who looks to be dead and the middle of it is smashed. Of course it was nfs but dont keep it on the display area as well as a odor coming from the crack of the cage. A few spiders tranchulas was dead and bettas waters was cloudy. Im not a not picker but ya not cool.

Extremely disappointed in my second visit. Level of service depends on who is working. I paid $10 for 25 large dubia roaches -- not only did she put them in a bag and not a cup, I had to specifically ask her for cardboard after she started tying the bag without some, and AT LEAST HALF WERE SMALL OR MEDIUM.

5 star selection with 2 star service. None of the employees are uniformed and they walk around ignoring customers as if they ARE customers. Finding someone to help requires waiting in line at the register. The selection of products is amazing, but they really need to work on their customer service skills.

I’m a business owner in Greenwood and wanted to share my story about the Store Manager Andrea! I came in to purchase Dubai roaches for my dragon and the greenwood store was out. They stated they would have them tomorrow, however, I was having back surgery. Andrea opened her heart and said we live close and she would drop off 100 roaches that I prepaid for! I was in awe! I’m not the person who ask for favors, I’m a Registered Nurse who cares for others. So, it was difficult to let my guard down. I’m so glad that I did! She came over and I invited her in to meet my Goldie’s and dragon that were all purchased at Uncle Bills! Our Country needs more people like Andrea!! I have always appreciated you all! Got my bearded dragon from here, friendly staff helped me out with everything

I went in to uncle bills and looked at the fish. Near the the fish was a large bearded dragon in a small aquarium. I myself have a juvenile bearded dragon with a bigger cage. We thought it was a show cage but asked an employee and he said we do not have enough room. You would think they would make sure they had room taking in a bearded dragon.

Great store! Great Service people are aways nice and helpful when you come in always welcoming! My Wife and I go in there once or twice a week just to say hi and get a few things love this Uncle bills! Would 100% Recommend!

Employees were not friendly nor educated on what they were selling. I asked 2 questions and both were answered with a giggle and I will get someone who can help you and after waiting roughly 45 minutes I left. I was extremely interested in one of the cats that had been on sale for a long while. I regret not making the purchase but truly wasnt offered a chance. Thank you, Uncles Bills for a disapointing trip! If, and I truly mean this, my next trip has a different outcome, I will delete this review promptly and go on to post an updated review.

We talked to someone from your store on Friday evening and decided to award 2 young boys with a Chinchilla. Worst decision ever made in my life @!! We get to your store around 1100am because the woman told us we had to be there by noon. Pick out the gray one and other things for this pet to find out that the price was not 150.00 which was quoted to us, but double that at 300.00. I was upset because I was lied to and the boys were devastated. I bought the animal and had to borrow money for food. I will never recommend this place and never go back to this establishment in my life. She was a liar and to my kids and myself that is the worst kind of person.

Great customer service and managers are always active and observing/Helping. Dogs and crickets are expensive but everything else is great at this location.

I was shopping the other day and couldnt find a item .when a clerk came up to me and asked if I needed help. I had not been in Greenwood store in years but this day I came in the young pretty girl named Andrea asked if she could help. She answered so many questions with out looking it up or asking for help. I have never seen a person like this in this store I loved it she knew everything I asked her. Ive never seen any1 go out of her way to answer my questions and I had quite a few. Than when I wanted this she took me straight to it. Very professional. I will be back. I love when there is some1like Andrea waiting on me.

The pet center is very nice and they have everything you could possibly need for your non human friend. They also have animals on hand, which is great if you are wanting a new companion. My favorite thing about Uncle Bills is that all of the employees are very nice and encourage playing with the puppies without pressuring you to buy one. The only complaint I have is that the store smells like an animal shelter, but that is expected considering the have numerous animals on sale in the store.

Employees here are always very helpful and fun to talk to. They have a huge assortment of animals, food, and care items. We like seeing what new reptiles they have in! They also have the best selection of feeders and the best local price on dubia roaches for sure.

I love the upgrade from the old location in the strip of stores in this area. It seems a lot bigger and newer when walking though it.They always seem to have new pups every time were in there! We actually purchased our first dog from here a few years ago. I would do it again if I was given the option.Be aware they are very expensive. A very young pup could cost you around $2,500. Every week the dog is at the store it goes down by $100 though.

Expensive but was willing to pay more than I would at Walmart because I could bring my dog. Cashier forgot to put the cookie in the bag but I noticed before we got out the door. Mistakes happen, no biggie. I get home and she also forgot to take the security tags off the collar and leash I bought. Will not return.

In response to “Carrie Fox” who just posted the negative review. I just happed to be at Uncle Bills at the same time she was. It was extremely busy with many people asking to see dogs. Staffing was very nice and trying to get everyone a chance to see the puppy of their choice. Carrie got all bent out of shape and yelled out loud, “I’ll never buy a F@@king dog from this place”. She was completely out of line especially with all the young children walking around. Please consider the source of that review! Uncle Bills is a great pet store. Also, to the manager that got on the girls case working the pet section after the slob yelled out that profanity. If you want that area more organized then get back there and fix it. That’s your job! How about people take numbered tickets to see dogs and a time limit to play with them. You were very rude to your staff! I was right there listening to you get on them!!

Huge selection of pets, I come in just for fun, and I get my fish supplies here. Also tons and tons of fish in the back that are so fun to look at. I also had a problem once with disease in my fish tank and found that the fish here have no diseases and are pretty safe to put with other fish. (Changed my review due to the reply. This is a great pet store!)
