From the second I opened the door and stepped inside my jaw was on the floor. Their inventory of live stock was amazing. All their fish and coral looked healthy and well kept. The tanks were clean and so was the store. The staff was so friendly and easy to talk to. I explained that I’m relatively new to the hobby and when asking questions and talking to them I never felt like anyone was being condescending or talking down to me. They’re very relatable and nice. They also have an expansive collection of other products like skimmers, tanks, medications and other additives. They have multiple styles of live rock and were extremely accommodating while I looked through the pieces I wanted. An amazing experience all around. Couldn’t recommend enough

House of Fins is a great aquarium store. Small in footprint maybe but they more than make up for it with quality service and selection. We were helped by Peter who was extremely helpful and friendly. And I have to say, his knowledge on the fish and other related areas was extensive and free flowering. In a time where it seems like so many stores act like they are doing a favor for you by letting you buy something, this was a fun surprise. I will recommend them to anyone in the market. They have gained a loyal customer.

House of Fins is awesome. Clean, beautiful selection but most of all, helpful! We recently relocated to the Bay Area and they took care of our betta fish until we were ready for him...then they packed him and made sure he was delivered safe and sound to us the next day. Moving is hard and so happy to have found House of Fins to help us overnight our fish.

Used to be top tier, but has recently has fallen off a bit. Visually the store looks fine, but if you look closer you will notice sick livestock. Still act like the quality is Grade A, but truthfully you can find better fish online for less.

Best fish store I have ever been too. Not only do they have an amazing variety of saltwater and fresh water fish but the staff there are educated with fish care. They truly care about the fish and it shows by how nice their tanks are kept clean. Everyone was extremely polite and always made sure any questions I had were answered. I LOVE ️ house of Fins. They are extremely knowledgeable, something that you rarely find in those big stores. I see people complaining about the prices being “astronomically high” but this is Greenwich...what do you expect? LolI am not rich, but I dont mind spending money in this place because I am receiving the best customer service and on top of that good quality fish and products.

Not sure why people complain about the pricing of this store. You pay for what you get in return. I would rather spend the extra money here than buy a fish from Petco that’s going to give my entire aquarium a disease. I was referred to house of fins by a friend and am happy with my experience at this store. The freshwater section wasn’t as large as saltwater, but they still have a pretty great selection to choose from. 5 star experience for me

The place to go for tropical fresh water fish and plants and for salt water aquariums. Ive gone to Petco and places like that and the people serving you in the aquarium department may not know anything at all.At House of Fins, you are getting the expertise of every person who serves you. They can answer any question and can help you create the aquarium that you want. This hobby is as much art as science, so it is an ongoing challenge. That is why their advice is so important. Also all the live fish and plants are healthy. They know what can go together and what cant. Highly recommended.

The House of Fins is the place to go shopping for your fresh or saltwater fish dreams! If you dont see what you want, just speak up and theyll order it for you! Many of the fish are very exotic with some super rare saltwater varieties that blow my mind! Go and enjoy but be sure to bring your wallet!

I have been a customer at House of Fins for several years now. This is my hobby, so I go to several stores to look, but I always buy my fish at House of Fins. The fish and corals are always healthy and the sales staff are very knowledgeable and happy to help. As other reviewers have said, they can be more expensive than other shops, but the quality and advice are well worth the premium!I do my own maintenance, but have used their service department while I am away or I dont have the time to do water changes or filter changes. My experience with the service department has been great as well.I cant say enough about House of Fins- my experience has been great and I cant wait to see what they have the next time I go in!

An exceptional fish store with knowledgeable, friendly staff who give you solid advice! We talked to Peter but other staff there were also patient and gave us excellent service. Everything they advised checked out when I researched in depth. They cater more to marine but still plenty of freshwater choices as well. Excellent variety of fish, corals, equipment, invertebrates, anemonies. They provide a full line of services like maintenance, setup, moving, vacation, etc. Only reason they do not get a 5 star is that they are comparatively expensive but they are in Greenwich and for the location and their customer base, it is fair to expect this. They were willing to work with you in case another store has more competetive prices but theres only so much they can do. An excellent establishment all in all and if you live in the Fairfield county area, you should at least visit them to see what they can do for you! PS: the large, cute puffer is irresistible and wants to interact, but Do Not put your finger in there!! Really cute though!

They had me at free coffee!! LolI was greeted immediately by a couple of workers when I walked in and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful! Im looking to set up a saltwater aquarium and was helped by an employee named Damien. He gave me several recommendations and ideas for my tank and seemed to know everything about saltwater fish/corals. Damien was able to give me much more help and knowledgeable information than the staff at PetSmart could!The coral and fish collection in this shop seemed to be very healthy and I will definitely be returning to pick out some cool/unique things!

This fish store is pretty good. I like the selection of coral and they have salt water from the ocean which is preferable to measuring and mixing your own salt water and the water chemistry might not be right for your anemones to thrive in.

I have had freshwater fish tanks for 40 years and now only buy fish at House of Fins. The fish are beautifully kept, healthy, more mature specimens and every fish I have bought there is still alive. This is in contrast this to the appalling, infested condition of fish at most shops. You pay more but get more. The store does cater more to marine aquariums but there are usually plenty of quality fresh water species.

Went in for the first time the other day after being referred to by a friend. The staff was very helpful and was well versed on information about the fish. The prices are a little steep, but the answers and services the workers provide to you makes it all worth it.

House of Fin is one of the best fish stores around. Awesome staff and great quality fish. The staff does not force you to buy anything and has good information on most of the fish there. It is VERY overpriced but you arent only buying the fish you are buying the 7 day warrenty to on the fish. When my fish die which is not a lot, they die in the first 7 days. With House of Fins warranty they refund you ALL of your money spent on that fish. So you are buying the fish and fish insurance in that sort of way. The reason why I gave this 3 stars is because I bought API stress coat + from them for 20 dollars that is 16 oz. that same bottle sells for 5.99 at most other pet stores. NEVER buy any medicine or equipment from them. But I have to say this is the only place that I will buy my fish because they have AMAZING quality. I have been going for 5 years and all my fish look amazing. I have 2 very colorful Bolivian Rams, 3 Pearl Gouramis, a Candy Cane Tetra, and a pleco that I bought from them that is 5 years old, first fish bought from them!DO1. Buy fish from them2. I have been a customer of the House of Fins for over 20 years.I say emphatically that my HoF experience has been 5-Star year-in-year-out.The staff is knowledgable, courteous, and many-yeared tenured. Joe has been offering me excellent service for 20+ years. Remrkable...really.The only time the service has been maybe slower than usual is because the staff is dealing with each customers questions...and they dont rush their customers just to make a sale. Quality-Commitment to customer service.The selection of aquatic life is truly of highest quality. At times animals die, the the HoFs staff never contests the issue. Their guarantee is gold.The HoF store just feels great to walk into. It is clean, great energy, and alive with aquatic wildlife. They seem to have a great selection of saltwater fish but I came there for the freshwater fish and those are seriously overpriced. I drove to petco afterwards and got the same fish for 20% of what this shop was asking. I dont mind supporting small business owners but there is a limit somewhere. On top of that they only have a very small selection of freshwater fish and plants. Plant tank looked neglected. I went there to get a customized tank but considering the overpricing for the fish and plants and the poor selection I decided to go elsewhere.
