Beautiful large park with paved walking areas, right on the Tar River. There are many different activities going on regularly, check the City of Greenvilles website for details. They also have a very nice play ground for children and is handicap accessible which is awesome! On this particular day, there was a flay display honoring local residents. The flags were purchased by family members/friends in their loved ones honor, and sponsored by local businesses. Beautiful!!

Overall wonderful place to take the kids or the dog but just need more lights when it get dark

Has a rather expansive stretch of area to walk, along with some information stands regarding the body of water next to it. On the way to the flags, there is an interesting fence covered in locks.

Play ground is great and connected walking trails with Greenway gets you out and about without having to get too close to others if your wiery of covid.

Due to covid 19. The park for kids is closed but you can still go and have lunch at the park itself. Theres a kayak unloading area which is pretty nice and easy to access or theres a hiking trail you can take right next to it. Very easy trail. You can use bikes, skateboards, and even roller blades.

I’ve gone here for recreation but this time i took pictures of my daughter and was thrilled about the flag demonstration.the bridge was closed when i went which was a bummer but nice place

They done alot over the years to improve this place. Amazing place to have a picnic and let the kids play.

This park is sad, and the boat ramp is nothing short of pathetic. The politicians need to revert tax dollars to these places where tax payers need to relax instead of pumping every last cent into welfare and handouts, clearly the $ isnt landing in the public schools either.

Not enough shade in play area, mostly for little kids. Still good family fun.

A very good use of public land. Excellent play ground. Concert shell is a good feature as well. Love the locks on the fence. And the bathrooms are spotless! Maybe I should change my score to a 5! Maybe a few benches for sitting dispersed throughout.

It was raining yesterday but the town common has come a long way. They have installed a playground for kids and added bathrooms. You can now rent kayaks there, and they do a thing called Sunday in the park with free concerts. The town common has really improved a lot.

Peaceful. There were only a few people in the park having lunch or dinner, walking with friends or families, relaxing on a park bench. It was not crowded, and the weather was great.

I love the park. Have good events. Love to bring a blanket and sit under a tree

I am very disappointed in the city, with this storm drain project thats going on. Yes, its going to be nice to see the creek and the greenway being built through and almost into the downtown area. This would be prefect for a 10-12 walkway & bicycle path connecting it up to the town commons with the greenway. This would bring people from the park to the downtown area to eat and shop, and people shopping to up along the river.

Its ok the city trying to make it better but we will see . Id love for them to get some bigger bands / concerts there

Beautiful park with interesting setup. Unfortunately the playgrounds were closed so the kids couldnt enjoy them and the bridge to the trails was under construction so we couldnt hike either.

Very clean park. So much to do. My kids loved it and we had a great picnic. We put a lock on the fence. Its unfortunate that a ton of locks have been removed. But I saw one from 2004 and its pretty cool. Hopefully ours stays on for a while.

Bathrooms are clean,Playground equipment is nice.I personally like it best when its not crowded (Monday - Thursday) but to all their own. They hold a lot of events here at the park which is great for community and activities sake. Its very family oriented andPerfect for picnics, biking, walking, or just simply playing.

A little something for everyone, down by the river... you have a Modern Park as well as a Green Trail to be able to spend time with Nature and listen something else other than the hustle and bustle of Traffic...Highly recommend it.... Whether you are alone, with someone special or hanging out with the little ones...

I absolutely love Town Common Park my daughter Tabitha is an disabled adult and she loves going there. Just the day she played the giant xylophone, chimes and drums!

I did not expect AIR-CONDITIONED bathrooms that are nice and clean! Nice equipment well maintained.

One of the best playgrounds I have ever been to. Disability friendly swings and wide playsets. Even better now that the common has a bathroom. The riverside walk is nice. They rebuilt the dock and pier, which look great. Lots of benches to sit on and a nice stage for performances. They are in the process of adding more, so expect construction in some parts. Great place to play.

Always a joy to go out there. Very spacious, GREAT up to date playground for the kids--it even has a fine mist sprayer/sprinkler for the kids to run through in the summer. Pet friendly, you often will see people fishing off of the boardwalk. They recently add another type of pier to fish off of or to get onto your boat (not exactly sure what its for) great walking area by the water. They normally have a band that plays on Sundays and the stage is a nice size. Many walking paths is you want to take a leisurely stroll. *This is a place for ALL ages, the diversity is great. Highly recommend

This is a nicely constructed greenway that runs along the Tar river. You can have a fun flat ride without being in traffic. Beware crossing the roads - although there are crosswalks, drivers usually dont stop.

I absolutely love the town commons. They have several events here throughout the year to enjoy. The playground is amazing, even for adults who are still children at heart. I suggest everyone visit the town commons and see for yourself how enjoyable it can be there.

Very cute park by the river just off downtown. We took a lovely evening walk after dinner to see the river and chat, it has curving paths and views. Its lower than most of the town, so It feels more remote than it is. Im sure there are great town events in this park.

They are really working to make this a community place to be. We went down 4 or so weeks ago to watch Carroll Dashiell perform and we were highly impressed with what the town has put together. A satisfying feeling of growth. (19 year resident)

This is a great spot to take photos, two fish, to take a nice walk, or just to hang out.

This place is a lot more fun for parents that are active ever since the kids park got built. The only issue I have is the JUL pods everywhere..... its disturbing. I dont care how trendy they are or if its helping people quit smoking this is a public area that should be maintained properly.

The outdoor facilities have been updated to indoor with plumbing and the playground for children feature handicap accessible things to do usually plenty of food trucks during events could use more parking not the best fishing location but it is one none the less generally a good place to visit on a good day.

Town commons is a great area to do just about anything. The playground is especially awesome. They have somthing for every age level. Crawling baby to a hobbling old fart.
