This Carolina property originally belonged to a private owner that used it as a hunting preserve of some kind. The place was named Sedgefield in reference to the broom sedge’ coarse grasses that were found to be growing in abundance in the fields there.Later a new owner developed the property as a golf course, calling it Sedgefield Country Club, and it opened for play in 1926 to a design by fabled golf-course designer Donald Ross. It is presently the only Ross-designed course hosting a regular event on the PGA Tour.Sedgefield is primarily known to most for its golf course and its long-time association with the PGA Tour event the Wyndham Championship, that is now one of the oldest events on the PGA Tour. Formerly known as the Greater Greensboro Open and taking place in the spring, the event has been sponsored by Wyndham since 2008 and now takes place annually in mid-August. The 2020 iteration of the Wyndham Championship was held over the calendar week of 10th to 16th of August and won by Jim Herman.

When to the Wyndham Championship and was super surprised!! The fan zones were great, the course was immaculate, we had one of the best times we’ve ever had at a PGA tour event!We’ll be coming back to this one next year!

This years tournament was a world class affair.

It was my first time watching professional golf players. The course was in amazing condition. The fairways looked like our home greens... It definitely would be a dream course to play.

Beautiful setting, polite and professional staff showing attention to detail making for a very pleasant experience. Food was excellent both in presentation and taste. Everyone I encountered greeted me with a pleasant smile and offered assistance.

Unfinished drinks removed to quick as they were setting up for nrxt night considering how expensive a glass of wine was this was inacceptsble. FOOD was good

A beautiful place and grounds yet the club is a place time forgot. Not inviting to all and has an air of smugness thats not multicultural.

Be careful who you ask directions from. Wouldve stayed longer had I been pointed in the direction I wanted to go instead of nowhere near it
