This is a review of the Tortuga Par 3 course. What a fun little course! Dont let the shorter holes fool you.. they really teach you about getting the correct 1/2 and 3/4 swings with your wedges and the greens are tough but fair.Fantastic place to work on your short game. Quiet and lined with beautiful trees and grass. You forget youre in a desert. Friendly pro shop staff. Very quick 9 hole but you can play 9 twice to make it 18. The average golfer will need no more than a sand wedge and putter here (bring tees so you dont tear up the tee boxes with divots).Ill be back again!
Very nice golf course and fun to play!I was surprised to see staff and some players not wearing masks while in the pro shop. This was yesterday during my second visit there. During my first visit, about a week ago, I was rudely interrupted by one of the marshalls. My ball ended up off the fairway in the dirt and gravel by the houses. After hitting I travelled passed two mounds of dirt and did a 90 over to the cart path and my ball. At that point the marshall drove upon me aggressively and rudely told me I have to do 90s. I said ok and he just stared at me and finally left. Maybe he needs a refresher course on how to approach people. After that I observed almost everyone not doing true 90s on both trips. Cart tracks everywhere. After I was done I decided to have a chat with him but he wasnt there.Nice course though.
Play moves along quickly and the course was in nice shape.
Haven is great course for fun game. Men women course is fun.
Course is in excellent shape. But it did not help my putting.
Course is in good shape and greens are excellent. Play moves well with an average 4 hour round.
Course was in good shape. With the hot weather that is a great asset. Greens were in great shape.
Course is in very good condition, staff was courteous and responsive.
This is a very well run outfit. The course is not difficult. Always a nice relaxing time. Very nice practice range.
Im a beginner and this is a good course for a beginner not too challenging
Great course. Well taken care of. A couple long par 5s, but its a pretty forgiving course. Its a desert course, so the rough isnt going to hide your ball much. Highly recommend a round here.
Liked the course! Hadnt been there in a few years definitely would like to go back!
We had fun playing at Haven also on Tortuga!!
Good fun, great place to take my daughter for her first round ever!
Wonderful well-maintained course great value for the money
Course in great shape, cart girl quite active, check in went smooth. We have scheduled next week for 10 players
We had a great time. The course is in excellent shape, especially the greens.Keep up the the good work!!
Great place, nice staff
Wonderful course except for the bunkers. NO sand anywhere. Just dirt. Crazy.
The cart was filthy- had a 9:02 tee time so that was”cleaned and sanitary “. Very disappointed.Usually HVen does better than most.
A great walk or ride at a reasonable price. Nice conditions year-round, friendly afternoon staff. Great place to practice or play!
Good Lil course
Nice course, cart path only and grass is long (greens too) due to overseed so for hi handicapper (25) no benefit from roll and greens are slow. Cant wait to try it in a month or so!
If you get a chance you should definitely check this place out!
My kid loves to golf and the Haven is always exceedingly accommodating with him as well as the schools in the area. As a parent I am thankful for this local resource.
Nice golf course, fun to play!
Great golf course in Green Valley. We golfed there in May of 2018. By then the snowbirds had all gone home and so there was no one on the course. Course was in amazing shape and only $26 per person... On a Sunday!
Really nice course for only $30 for 18 holes. If this course was in So. Cal. The cost would be 4-5 times higher, minimum. The par 5 holes are nice and long with 3 of 4 over 500 yards. Tees, fairways and greens are in great shape. Greens are a little slow compared to what I am used to. The driving range features grass instead of mats. The clubhouse is simple but nice with a bar and available food options.
Like this course. Always busy. Start everyone back to back at one point had 5 foursomes on one hole boring
Really nice course greens are firm but fair, I cant say anything bad Haven
Great 18 hole course in excellent condition! Tee boxes are great, the fairways lush and greens are in great condition. After 11:00 am only $45! Try it, youll love it.
Nice course, reasonable rates, and nice rental clubs if you need.
Great course for those who think they are better than they are.
Great course with the perfect short game area. The bartenders in the clubhouse pour a great drink too!
Love coming to this golf course, very relaxing!!!!!
SAND Traps have no SAND! Many places on the golf course have no GRASS! Many drives resulted with mud on the ball. Greens have more grain than any other I have played
Great place, staff very friendly course good shape
Course in great shape, staff takes good care of business in the pro shop and grill.Whoever mowed tee boxes on Tuesday morning did not replace tee markers. Ladies ahead of us took care of red tees, I took care of gold tees until we caught up with someone sent out later, on hole #8.
Great course. Good staff and good prices. Greens are in great shape, a little slow. Overall, great course.
Terrible... seen the Marshall on second hole and it was slow already.. and got slower.. it is a retirement courae and slow play is normal..and accepted.. cart lady was not polite.. were going to stop for a beer but just whole place was seemingly not freindly.. we were just visiting course and wont go back..
We had a tee time today to play nine holes at Haven. We got out roughly on time expecting to play in about 2-1/2 hours. That seems like a reasonable time for a nine hole round when the course is full. Unfortunately we ended up right behind the Nine & Wine Womens Group. After 45 minutes of play we had just managed to tee off on the third hole. When we pulled up on the tee box at Hole #3 all three groups of women were still on the third hole. We sat at our tee shots waiting while one group cleared the green and the group in front of us sat chatting in the shade approximately 275 yards from the green. At one point I got up and raised my arms at them in a whats up gesture. One woman in the group responded in kind to me. I yelled that they could hit as they were not going to come anywhere near the green. They did hit and as expected managed 100 or so yards (i.e. set up for two more shots to the green). I figure our pace for nine holes was going to be on the order of four hours. Does that seem ridiculous to you?We decided that spending most of our afternoon sitting in the cart waiting on these women was pretty much going to suck so we headed back to the Pro Shop. As we drove back there were two groups waiting on the #3 tee and one just coming off the #2 green. When I went into the Pro Shop the man behind the counter, after I explained the delay with the womens group, first claimed he didnt know what I was talking about. Like he didnt know he had Nine & Wine on the course? I could have been nicer Ill admit, however it was clear he wasnt interested in doing anything about the situation and I was frustrated. I asked if we could go out on the back nine to which he responded no, the course is full. I suspect he could have allowed that, but simply chose not to do so Id be punished for my transgression. He did say that he would see if he could get a Ranger to go out. We left forfeiting our $48 fee.On the way to the parking lot I encountered a Ranger. I explained the problem. In a nutshell he told me that hes tried to move these ladies along in the past to no avail. He also told me that if he did go out to move them along hed get into trouble with Marvel (Course Professional). It was pretty apparent he wasnt going to solve this situation. It also appears to me that hes hindered in performing his duties by your staff. Some simple concepts regarding course etiquette....ready golf, keep up with the group in front of you, pick it up and move on if youre falling behind. My suggestion is that you schedule these women as the last ones on the course the day they play. If they cant finish their round before sunset maybe the next time theyll do a better job of moving along. You cant continue to allow them to impact play on the course as they did today!!Ill certainly never play at Haven behind any womens group again, and Im going to make sure I understand traffic on the course before I come out to play so that if it sounds excessive I can cancel. I suspect youll have more and more problem with cancellations if you continue to let this group of women impact the pace of play as they were allowed to do today.
Great open golf course. The staff is helpful and friendly. Course was in great shape.
Forgiveness is what you will find. Not easy though.hit it straight
Great price
Driving range is good for a quick warm up
The greens were in bad shape mosquitos every where
Very windy but course is in great shape
Very flat, but in pretty good shape for the area.
Fantastic people. Great place to take small children they let small children play for free to help keep the sport of golf alive
Prices are to much for older people and veterans
It was great weather to play.
Friendly and fun.Well watered fairways and greens.Greens roll very nice.
This is one of southern Arizonas best golf courses. Many have been up and down with multiple owners and the courses have been hit or miss. However, Haven has kept up its beautiful fairways and manicured greens. Also, the snack cart has a very friendly attendant, Jenny, who takes care of all the golfers with great customer service. Every time I have played Haven, I walk away happy and challenged. Even though other courses may be more dramatic with elevation changes and blind shots, but Havens old style and fairly flat design still challenges the average to scratch golfer. Lastly, the only reason I didnt give Haven a fifth star is due to the amount of golfers who do frequent the course. Sometimes it can get a little crowded and make for groups pushing each other around.
Course is in good condition.
Ive been here a few times. I really like their par 3 course.
Great golf and beautiful course!
Good
I golfed with a group from Tucson that plays here a fair bit. The course is beautiful w wide fairways that are immaculately maintained. Trees n shrubs delineate each hole but make it easy to track down errant shots. I believe we paid USD 50 fr 18 holes w a cart during peak snowbird season. If the post-game restaurant menu was stronger they would easily earn my 5th star; the beer is cold though..!
Nice course and friendly staff. We enjoy the par 3 pitch and putt course with our kids.
Well maintained public course with an active following. Beautiful views!
Course in good shape, not the friendliest staff ever encountered. If you have a physical handicap dont bother asking for any special considerations. The course manager requires you to make an appointment for an interview if you want to be certified as physically handicapped in order play their course. Although I stayed in the rough around the greens, it wasnt good enough. I had to stop playing with 4 holes left. Manager surely must have medical training of some kind. Their arrogance and stress in the pro shop is quite evident.
Great $$
Great golf course. It is always in great condition and very pleasant.
Greend were horrible fairways not much better
Good course good price
A wide open course with some water and trees. One of the easier courses in Green Valley. Its almost always in great shape and the staff is very friendly.
Great course to walk. Not excessively challenging.
Great service and family feel
This is a cool little Par 3 hidden away golf course it doesnt really have much to offer its really not the best place there is but for some reason I just really like it I like the course you can also do that frisbee golfing or whatever its called there it its a cool little course but you will not be impressed with the Bears not really Clubhouse theres no place to eat they dont have drinks on the course and its its a little different but its just a cool little course
Very fun course, and well kept up, also wasnt overbooked and was reasonably priced
Great Time
Greens in great condition. Great day to golf.

Nice greens. Great place to Golf for the price
This is a great little Gem with 18 holes filled with old growth trees and an old school conventional design. The home owners are friendly and its right off the Freeway in the heart of Green Valley.
Fairways and greens in great shape. Little slow
Good service good golf cheap drinks
Very well maintained.
Greens were in great shape
Beautiful place fun and challenging. I will be going back.
