Unfortunately we only spent the night on our travels elsewhere. The RV area is very spacious. We stayed in a pull-through under some magnificent old trees. The pull-through was paved, wide, and long. We had plenty of space. There was a nice iron picnic bench next to our site. We want to come back and take advantage of the area and float the river. I believe it could be a very nice vacation spot.
Super nice campground with lots of grass, shade trees and not too windy. And it’s really quiet. Bathrooms were also clean and well maintained. Park rangers were nice and quite chatty. A bit pricey, but I’m told 100% of the Utah state park budget comes from the campground and day use fees, there’s no taxpayer subsidy, so keep that in mind when you see the fees for using any of our amazing state parks!
By far the nicest camping / RV site in Green River. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of shade trees and the Green River and a local golf course run along the sides of the site. Plan ahead to get your spot at this very nice RV site.
The grass is actually pretty nice (not some rough and tough weed type grass). Theres a good amount of shade with the trees - not every campsite will have a shady tent site. The campground has its own boat dock, but doesnt really had a beach area at all. You can kayak or swim across to the opposite bank where theres a bit of a beach, but the mud under the water is squelchy and gross - our kids loved it though.
Nice little park right on the river. Our site (35) was much shorter than advertised and was a bit difficult getting situated in the right position for the electric cable to reach to our rig, but we managed. We would stay here again.
We stayed in the one cabin that’s in this campground area. It looks small on the outside but it’s very spacious on the inside. There was a table and four chairs inside the cabin as well as a large bunk bed with queen on the bottom and full on top. There’s also a pull-out sofa bed.
Beautiful park. We had the perfect picnic spot for being with friends. There were 6 adults and 2 kids. Tons of shade. After about 2 hours, a ranger came and told us to move as that area went with a cabin, and they were expecting people and needed to get everything in order. This didnt bother us at all, but they should have had some type of signage. What did bother us was his lack of friendliness toward us. He was actually rude.We wont return.
Like camping on a golf course. Can hear golfers cussing all day, but a nice spot next to the green river. Clean, good facilities, showers, dock. Grass everywhere so you can walk around without shoes.
Beautiful, small campground. Well maintained. Sites are spread out with plenty of grass and trees. Sites all have asphalt pads, concrete under the picnic tables and fire pits. Right on the river and has its own boat launch.
Super clean and decent for the money. Warning about the noise at night: trains and high traffic noise heard all night. The train blows its horn about three times with a very nice wake up call at 6:00 am and another at 8:00 am.
Pretty yellow trees $35 per night with hookups for water and electric.
Many turnouts, picnic areas, boat launches & campgrounds to view & recreate around the river. Well maintained outhouses, some with hand sanitizer are in each developed spot. Very primitive with no running water, so be prepared venturing down the dirt road after leaving the entrance area stop. Highly recommend.
A fantastic park, always enjoy staying here. Beautiful.
We did a round of golf right next to this park super fun and the park is nice
Busy, but always a great place for base camp.
They make you move your campsite aside every 2 days so that they can water the grass. Colossal pain in the butt. They canceled the watering 1 day only after we moved our camp to the road. What’s their excuse? “We have poor communication.” Then do something about it! There are constant trains running nearby, even when you are trying to sleep. It is a terrible spot for tenters! Incredibly inconvenient. I only gave it a 2nd star because the bathrooms & showers were clean. Also, the town is basically a dilapidated ghost town. We could barely even find the dinky supermarket. How they could have put a state park there, I will never know. Also, golfers driving by all day & on the campsite. Never again!
Spent one night here on our way to Yosemite at 35 dollars one of the best deals on I-70 very quiet well kept park
Early Mon Am. July 13 Camp manager shows up. Couldn’t find him evening before . A real wise guy, wanted 30 more dollars but Later said he would take A 20. Signs barely legible, park crowded, couldn’t find spot. Ended up in truck trailer area. Said he would call sheriff on me if I didn’t pay. I gave him 20 more. Wonder where it went!
This was a real nice campsite. The only reason for 4 stars is the awkward placement of the hookups. Water and power were located on the door/entry side of my RV so I had to run the power cord along my walking side of the RV leading to possible entanglement! Also the table and fire areas of this site, #18, was on the opposite side of my RV door too. I almost wanted to pull straight in the drive but I would have had to drive on the grass to do so.There was not a sewer hookup but there is an on-site RV Dump.We camped with several families and were able to get spots so we could use the common area between us as “our” play area.
Beautiful green place in the brown of the desert, nice camp spots, golf course and a nice boat ramp into the green River
Great trailer campsites, cheap, level, good bathrooms, dump site. Neighboring Disc golf as well as ball golf course (additional fee is reasonable) with mature cottonwood trees, lush grass and well-kept fairways are the key pleasures here, unless youre launching a river rafting trip, which is an exciting venture into near Arches/Canyonlands beauty on Green River.
Green river did a really amazing job at making this place nice. Its truly fun. The scenery is very beautiful. It has immediate river access, along with a well-maintained golf course. It makes this seem like home to visitors. I wouldve given it 5 stars if the bathrooms were a tad better. Other than that it was an amazing place and I enjoyed my stay.
We stayed here 6/7/2020 thru 6/9/2020 in our one year old Class A motor home. Overall a nice park in a nice little town. The town seems to exist significantly due to recreation in the area (river rafting, desert exploring, etc.)PROS: Nice location with plenty of outdoor activities. Park was clean and well kept with decent sized sites. We went to Swazeys Beach (on Green River, maybe 10 miles from park), which was really cool.CONS: The attendant working the front gate was a complete putz with a bad attitude. He was a big guy probably around 60 years old with a very poor attitude - not the type of person you want forming customers first impressions! This dampened our attitude for the entire visit.
Very well kept, but with that they were watering grass the day we arrived so we couldnt take anything out of camper until they finished watering with different sections being watered different times. Very inconvenient after 12 hours of driving.
Beautiful small park in a desert town. Way too many mosquitoes. Lots of rv’s. We were the only tent. There’s a reason for that. The mosquitos are a nightmare here.
Great place to camp and run Swayzeys Rapid!! Awesome Sandy Beach!!
Nice place...clean and near a golf course. Great place to stay.
Never went,, judging by how much Utah wanted to go to Goblin state park it was a oh heck no. Sorry Utah, figure a better way to RIP people off to look at rocks.
Clean campground. Although it’s right in town, it’s quiet and very clean. Not on the highway, but near it.
Wonderful boat ramp and entrance for a river trip.
Great camping, beautiful golf course and helpful staff.
Green River is the quiet secret to adventure. Biking, hiking, museums, river rafting, or lazy river floating, golf, etc.. Green River has more outdoor adventure than you can fit in your schedule for a great getaway weekend with the whole family. This is the back door to the living museum known as the San Rafael. Great small town eateries, camping, hotels, or RV sites available.
This is one of THEE nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed at; especially for the price! It was $35 a night. Green flat grass, drinking water and electricity at each site. Theres a golf course, frisby golf course, fishing pond, and access to the river to launch a boat all right there on the property. The bathrooms are kept very clean. The cleanest Ive ever seen in any public bathroom. They cleaned them at least 3xs a day. The toilets were literally cleaner then mine at home. They also have showers but we didnt use them. Our campsite was next to the bathrooms and we couldnt smell them. I think this would be a great place for a family reunion. Ive never left a review before but this place impressed me that much! I wouldve never guessed that nice of a campground would come from the city its in. But its a great location because its 45 min from Moab and a couple national parks, 30 min from the sand dunes, and 15 minutes from black dragon canyon (so cool: hieroglyphics and deep canyon) and several other great hiking/hov routes/hieroglyphics areas.
Great camping grounds! Provides for a very rewarding opportunity to leave the world and not get too detached. This place offers facilities to use when one would need the restroom, and shower. They offer some of the greenest vegetation around. The desert can be unforgiving, but they manage to have some very beautiful trees and grass for campers to enjoy. All tent and RV campers alike can enjoy what this camping ground has to offer. They have electrical and sewer hook ups for your camper. Not to mention at a great price. I would highly recommend this place to all camping enthusiasts.
Didnt stay there but camp Host let us drive thru very clean
A diamond in the rough after a long days drive. Pretty and very clean camp ground. Nice setting. We will be making this a preferred stop!
Awesome, friendly, and all of the CLEAN amenities. We moved during COVID. We had to travel from California to Colorado. There werent many places that would accept us, with our Uhaul. We were so grateful to find this place! Private showers that were hardly used and CLEAN, smelling of fresh cleaning supplies. Parked our Uhaul with trailer and set up our tent! Waterfront camping with firepit, picnic table, and PLENTY of space. Great maintenence crew! They also sell firewood!! Thanks so much, guys!! We had great rest!!
Great place and a golf course.
Clean and green nice refuge in the desert
Great camp site
Great food and service
Beautiful oasis in the Utah desert
Level sites, lots of trees, fire pits and picnic tables beside the Green River.
Lovely campground. Has a great gentle vibe about it. Fairly specious sites, and beautiful tall trees, grass, showers, can easily walk to Green River. Golf course alongside. Outer loops more privacy, as always. Not National forest, but good.
This was a great place to stay! They were very accommodating when we had troubles with our truck. The bathhouses were very clean and the landscape was well kept. Customer service was excellent! I highly recommend it!
What a very friendly and amazingly clean place to stay. I wish I was not just staying here overnight to continue on my journey North. I highly recommend this to anyone that is coming through this area. The Green River State Park is a great place to spend some time to cool off in the river as it is 100° today.
Very quite, clean, $35 a nite water/electric.
Outstanding State Park. Very clean showers, well taken care of location, almost negative one star for rude employee.
Super friendly staff and extremely helpful!
Ive never in my life seen cleaner bathrooms
Very clean bathrooms and showers - shady campsites - close proximity to Moab, arches, canyonlands and dead horse point.
Its a nice place to stay on the road, and probably worthwhile as a destination in its own right. I always find a spot to camp. Staff is friendly. Campsites are nice and the showers are clean.
Very nice camp ground. Well maintained. Clean bathrooms and showers. Everyone respects the quiet times, except the train and its horn that comes by in the middle of the night. We had a great time though.
Fantastic little gem of a park in Green River. Beautiful campsites, and a good-looking golf course (but I dont play, so Im not a great judge of that).
Large sites; really clean washrooms; friendly rangers. Lots of trees. Right next to golf course. Quiet even though it is in town. Close enough to Arches NP to drive there and much cheaper
Nice clean. Inexpensive. Best place in town. But it fills up fast
I grew up in this town, and it saddens me that they charge you just to walk in now, but its a nice little park. Its got a little pond that you can fish at, and sitting down at the river is relaxing. Id reccomend a visit.
Nice grassy tent sites. Clean toilets and showers. Shady and peaceful. 2nd time here. Nice town too...
Awesome place will come out again
Great campsite with showers and bathrooms. Nice grass area in group site for tents. Lots of bugs and mosquitoes while we were there in July.
Quiet. Shady. Right next to a lovely disc golf course! Good stop between Denver and Salt Lake.
Great state park!
Nice park, but the day use area is a gravel parking lot with a boat ramp surrounded by a golf course. The campground looks nice, with quite a few cottonwood trees.
Great place to stop and stay the night. There is tent camping as well as parking for RVs and large trailers. Fresh water is available at every campsite and there are nice restrooms and showers. If you like fishing or boating there is easy access to the river. If you like golfing, there is a course that runs through the park. The golf course is owned separately however, and you will need to check in at the clubhouse before using the green.
7$ to get a very small noisy beach access...
A great place for swimming in the summer.
It was poo a nice campground. However it appeared to be a small area. Did not have time to check out all areas of the park.
This was our second stay at Green River State Park. Very clean and quiet. Great bathrooms and showers. Space between sites is nice. The grassy area could use some TLC. Lots of weeds, dandelions and not nearly as nice as when we stayed two years ago during the same time of year. Dead leaves from the fall and lots of sticky pods of some sort. Stuck to our dogs feet and bellies. Golf course right next to the campground, so this is a good place to stay and golf. Golf course is very affordable.
The large grassy spaces between campsites is really nice.
Hell yes green river love this place
Its a really nice place with something for every kind of camper. Trailer, RV or tent accommodations are very nice. The bathroom facilities are immaculately kept. The golf course is within walking distance, as is the boat ramp. Really fun camp area.
GREAT place to camp, right on the riverNice and cool. And we even caught trout for dinner.
Nice wide open places to camp
The campground itself was clean and an okay setting (if you don’t mind closer campsites and a train running by). This campground seemed to be more favorable for a retired community without designated play space for children. The staff and host from host site 1 were incredibly rude from the moment we stopped to check in. We were greeted by a host who was unfriendly and down right rude, simply staring at us and saying “what?,” like we had no business being there. We were given no information (verbally or written) about the state park and rules. The park manager stormed into our campsite the last night there to tell the people we were traveling with that they needed to quite their dog or they would “ be out of here.” This was around 6pm (not quiet hours) and the way this was handled was by yelling at our group instead of approaching the matter calmly and talking to us. We primarily stay at state parks in Colorado and have NEVER been treated with such disrespect even when dealing with the occasional problems. We will NOT be staying there again.
Park like setting, well there is a golf course, with green grass spacious sites. Camp host was very helpful on a 100 degree day
Super clean restrooms! Nice grounds.
Very fun. Clean campsite. This was our first time camping in 8 years. Our children loved it.Flushing toilets, running water, soap, blow dryers, and showers available in the restrooms.Outlets and a water pipe available at each campsite. Wood for sale at the office. Small sticks and leaves around to gather for starting campfire. There was a picnic table and benches at each campsite. Several trees around create a bit of shade. Probably more shade in summer.Beautiful views of the stars at night, and it looked like bats flying around in the sky not long after the sun went down.We have a large 9 person tent, and there was a lot of room for more tents if we needed it.Several people had RVs parked at their campsite with many things plugged in which were not familiar with.
Surprised by this Park in the town. Very nice and friendly town
Very well kept and clean state park. Nice sites. No sewer hook-ups but easy access dump station. Camp host was helpful and friendly. Best to make reservations at least a day ahead or take your chances. Nice stay.
Mosquitoes were terrible, but overall great experience. A bit over priced
Wonderful showers and bathrooms. Nice lawns and plenty of trees. Reasonable price. Hookups. Sites for large RVs
Nice and well kept. Felt safe and easy to access
I really enjoyed this as a base camp for my scouts Moab bike trip
