Alvar communities are rare in Wisconsin due to fire suppression, so this place is quite special and something to be preserved. As soon as you begin exploring the landscape youll be greeted with oak savanna, which at this time of the year has a smattering of color from butterfly weed, wood lily, black-eyed susans, and other native prairie flowers.

Its a biutiful please I had fun with my family in this hunting season but I had some problems and I am afraid that I will not hunt there next year. Private land owners are giving problems to hunters in public land.

The park was nice with beautiful wild flowers, lots of variety like the beach on lake MI. and the woods with trails but the visitor center was closed by 4 on a Saturday and there was a vending machine but it didnt work! Thankfully we were able to share some water with those purple that needed it badly..
