My medical insurance includes a membership in a health facility. The one I chose is the Kroc Center. I really like this place. It has a walking/running/jogging track, great weight machines, free weights, a basketball court, classes for kids, a rock climbing wall, and a beautiful pool. Ive been going a few times each week and Ive lost 15 pounds. The staff is friendly as well. Great place.

The first time I went to this place I was amazed. they have an amazing swimming pool and they can take care of your kids in the daytime. This place also has a rock climbing wall. Its similar to the YMCA but has more features and more fun things to do. Honestly I would say its better than the YMCA. And another big advantage is that the school bus from the school take you there. Theres no way this place could ever become become bad its an excellent place!

A great to be at with the family or just by yourself. Nice walk paths. Playing fields. Very close to Plaster Creek. Can do power walks here. Will check out the bike paths.

I work out at the Kroc center and its fine. The staff is really helpful and they have so many different equipment machines. I love the indoor track but hate they keep changing the direction you need to walk in.

I went to the Kroc for the gym, the staff are friendly and willing to answer any questions or concerns you might have. The equipment is always clean, staff is up in the second floor willing to help with whatever you need, you can also ask for a personal trainer. The prices are reasonable for a community gym. Every area is maintained and kept clean, the pool is clean, the rock climbing and the basketball court are clean. Students and after school programs are kept in the first floor and it just makes it feel complete in a way, it’s a great community center. The track is nice, the fields outside are always open to members, this is a very nice place to go for a workout

I love this community center and miss it since I do not live nearby. I do take kids from time to time. I visited the pool during spring break. It was organized, the staff is always helpful and kind. The locker room is clean. I love the pool staff and they go out of their way to help. The new process to have breaks every hour to cut down on little ones having accidents in pool and having to shut the pool down is a great idea and though it seems annoying at times is best for everyone and allows kids to take a rest so they do not get fatigued in the water as well. This facility is family friendly, and is respectful to everyone regardless of faith, race, gender or age. Most impressive to me is how handicapped friendly it is.

First rime Ive ever been to a Kroc center. The place is ginormous!

My first visit was a good first impression, much thought went to the floor plans and service to the public.

Very nice facility that offers a huge variety of classes and activities. Well staffed with friendly people and well maintained equipment and stuff.

It is a great place but my only advice is to call before headed to it. We came twice trying to get to the pool and the first time was close for maintenance and the second one was closed for classes. The website didnt had any mentioned on these

So many different fun activities. My favorite is the pool and daycare. The pool is perfect for kids as they can walk in like a beach and find theyre comfort zone the deeper they go. And the day Care is clear glass so you can see your babys as you swim if you want some alone time while seeing your baby having fun

Great facility. Life guards are friendly but keep the rules. facilities are clean a and the staff helpful. My child loves the pool, and the game room. We even attempted the rock wall and had a great time.

A fellow member followed me out of the parking lot and slammed on his brakes in front of me in the road. No one was hurt, but IDK roid rage or a crazy man. The gym is one of the dirtiest places. Some staff members are extremely nice especially in the morning, but the afternoon and weekend staff may need a baby sitter. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they are looking to swim in the morning. The free weights are mediocre, the track is over 13 laps a mile, the lockers are extremely small, and the staff varies from great to horrible treatment of guests. Most members seem friendly however after I was almost assaulted from a member I can not recommend this place to anyone with kids who cares about safety of themselves or family. Its hard to overstate how great this place is. Ive had gym memberships at many places, but this is the perfect sweet spot between and planet fitness and a weird hardcore gym.all the equipment you could ever need, and a general community center type of atmosphere.

I had a great work out, my only issue is I was visiting from out of town and asked about their Senior discount and was informed its only on Fridays. I went in as a guest. So seniors your discount day is Friday

Great place for young kids and families. Gives them a lot to do from a water play area, big slide, and lazy river. Very family friendly.

Great pool for swimming laps. Sometimes its too crowded, but not usually. The pool and workout area is clean with new equipment, the staff is friendly and knowlegable, and the whole place has a good, low stress vibe.

Pool and play pass for the family is an amazing value

Its a nice Christian environment, where you feel safe working out. Lots of stuff for kids to do. They have scholarships too if you qualify.

They have alot of programs but they need to bring down the prices for families.

I prefer I kroc over the YMCA. Wish they opened earlier on Saturdays tho.

The Kroc Center is a nice alternative to the YMCA. While the building is smaller than the David D Huntington and the facility has many less amenities, the Kroc Center continues to improve its programming. The staff is nice generally and its easy to get in and get your workout in. There is a pool and a small gymnasium as well as a track a cool lifting area which includes boxing bags (heavy and speed). Membership rates are also lower than the YMCA. They also offer day passes to non-members for a fee and you can use these day passes without a member as well. They have many free amenities in their back yard ( if you will) behind the building including more basketball courts, sand volleyball and soccer fields which can all be used as long as the facility isnt using them for something. Sometimes they turn on their giant slip and slide for the community, which is a huge hit with kids and adults alike. Also they always have some type of community programming for the whole family for free or a low price especially in the summer. They often have free classes on a given day all summer long. Super clean. The staff is great. There are some wonderful programs and instructors too. The Judo club is first class.

I love working out here with my husband, and we live around the corner to it. Really has everything youd want in a gym except one thing: They kinda have something against night owls and people who want to work out late. Please, please extend your hours. So other than that the Kroc center is awesome and I totally recommend it. But if youre not a morning person you definitely have to schedule your evening around their hours.

This facility is by far the best facility in Grand Rapids without a doubt! I will continue to go to the Kroc everyday of my life. The staff is amazing, friendly, fun, and very helpful. The Kroc, in my opinion, is very affordable, and if it is a bit extra I know that extra money spent is well worth it. The facility is spotless and always clean (one of the main reasons why I enjoy it). The weight room is very big and has a friendly environment with all the people that I have met, I have made some real strong and good relationships. If you had a question or needed a spot, 100% of the time someone will always be there to lend a helping hand and give personal advice. I love the Kroc!! The facility is very impressive, offers great exercise equipment that is well maintained, and both indoor pool & outdoor splash pads are a ton of fun for families w/ kids! My kids LOVE to play on the outdoor playground as it has challenging equipment and places to run around + places for parents to sit in the shade.Ive always been treated very well by the staff. I successfully brought a group of over 50 kids as a church group, and we were handled quite well, the swim party was a blast, and they want to go back again! Highly recommend.

Cool place to have fun

This is just such a fun place to take the kids to swim and play. We try to treat our family to one or two months of membership per year and its always a great experience.

Went there to try out their pool. The kids had so much fun.

I brought my young kids to the Kroc Center this past weekend so they could play in the pool. They had a GREAT time! My 3 year old was shaking with excitement when he saw the waterpark (it is an impressive setup!) The price was great and pool area was so much fun. The pool was clean and was staffed by many lifeguards. We all had a good time and plan on going back soon! You should check it out, this place is a bargain compared to other water parks!

On the expenses side come at 300 and pay full amount .. Should have discount after 230 or 300 PM

Ive been a member off and on for a while. Its a good place to join. The Kroc center is always clean. The Atmosphere is great, and so are the people.

Before going to the Kroc Center, remember that daily theft, rude workers and unsanitary playing spaces are what you should look forward to. It all started when I went to the pool at 6:30, paying $7.50 to stay until 8:30, when the pool closed. I swam for a good thirty minutes before my friends and I decided to go get a snack from the vending machine. We stepped outside and was immediately cornered by a worker who forced us to put on shoes, so we went back into the locker room, put on our shoes and a shirt to cover our bathing suits. We went into the lobby where the vending machines were located and got our snacks. The rule is that you cant bring food past the lobby so we sat there eating until a Mexican lady at the front desk yelled at us saying we were dripping on the floors and that we needed to get back into the pool and also complained about us not having on clothes while there were teenage boys on the other side of the lobby wearing no shirts and basketball shorts. Me being me, I snuck my cookie into the girls locker room and went back to the pool. When I got there, the main pool had been roped off for laps. It was only about 7:45 and the pool closed at 8:30. We tried to go in there but the lifeguard kept yelling at us saying if we were in there we had to be swimming laps. When we paid $7.50 for OPEN SWIM, they didnt say anything about closing the pool off early for laps and its also not on the schedule they have posted online. We stayed in the hot tub until it was time to get picked up. Once we went in the locker room, i decided to change in the bathroom, until I saw that the toilets looked and smelled disgusting. I ended up changing behind the lockers. I made a mistake and left my bikini top in there bathing suit dryer they have, and when I came to pick it up the next day, a different Mexican lady told me to check the lost and found in the gym. I went down there and found nothing. Ill never be going back to the Kroc Center again.

This is a great place with reasonable memberships and a really diverse group of people enjoying the facility. The pool is a highlight for young to middle school kids.
