One of my favorite places to bring my nieces (ages 5 & 8) and they absolutely love it! There are all types of exotic animals that have either been rescued, surrendered, or brought in by authorities and wont survive in the world so I think this place is doing such a nice thing for the animals. The staff is also extremely informative and the tour is so educational for the kids (and for me!) Theyre a nonprofit so I dont think the cost is very much at all ($6 for kids $9 for adults) I highly recommend it here!

This place was really cool. Lots of animals to see and some to touch too! A staff member walks you all around & teaches you about each 1. Jessica walked my family around and was very patient with my little ones (1 & 2).

What a great experience! Had so much fun with my family from out of town and my 3 year old daughter.Will go back probably once a month.Great prices for what we got to do and see, and the gift shop was great. Cute toys and shirt and jewlery. Hope they get more animals/reptiles soon!

This was absolutely a great experience! A day well spent for the hubby being off from work. Our tour guide was a young woman, she wears glasses and had short dark hair, she was absolutely wonderful! She was very informative, very knowledgeable, handled the kids very well, she was VERY patient with them and kind, though she only had to deal with 2, the other child who looked only 3 or 4 was lets say, the absolute, total opposite from VERY well behaved child, I give our tour guide MAJOR PROPS for showing such self restraint and remaining professional the entire time! She made the experience that much more fun and interesting for us! The rest of the staff were just as pleasant. I highly recommend this place for a family outing, the kids would love it!

My wife and I took our three year old neice here and she loved it! The grown-ups also had a great time. Being able to touch and interact with the animals was great but the real stars are the tour guides who are extremely knowledgeable. Great time for the whole family!

Is this place even open? I have gone there twice inside the hours of operation listed online and it was closed. I have also called multiple times with no answer or even machine to leave a message.Please tend to customer service.. Would love to take my daughter here, but cannot keep going just to be let down.

We are visiting my in laws in a small town nearby and were looking for a fun activity for our 4 year old. This place is perfect. Its not super fancy, inside the Mesa Mall (no outside sign), about the size of two mall stores put together. Its filled with mostly rescue snakes, turtles, tortoises, other reptiles, and a few birds and fish. After you pay, you wash your hands and a person walks your small group from animal to animal, teaching you about the animal, and letting you touch many of them. We were in and out in less than 2 hours. It was a nice, air conditioned kid outting. There is a small play space that seemed good for infants and toddlers and also a small gift shop of sorts near the register.

Loved this place. Very interactive and you can tell how much effort the staff put into creating a great experience for guests and caring for animals.

Great little place to learn about different species and get some hands on experience. Not for the squemish. See rare species not usually found in the local zoo.

We are visiting from out of town and had a fabulous visit today. My children and I both were excited to get a guided tour through all the creatures, and even getting to touch so many of them. What a special project they have going on there! The staff were so knowledgeable. And there is even a kids play area. I just wish we lived closer so we could go again and again!

This was honestly one of the absolute best experiences here in Grand Junction. My nine year old had a fantastic time, everyone is very friendly, and the staff handled even really young kiddos incredibly well. We will absolutely be back!

Great educational your of the world around us that is seemingly out of our reach! Your guide very interesting and knowledgeable about her position.2nd time to go through and each time with different grandchildren who are totally fascinated and attention kept by the guide.

Outstanding experience! They were so nice and kind to my kids. They spoke to them in words they could understand and had fun with them.

I thought this was fantastic! It may not be the San Diego Zoo, but for a drop in mall location, its totally worth the low price. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, funny, and patient. The diversity of critters there was awesome!

The staff was great and I enjoyed knowing that most of the animals were rescues. I do feel that the set up could be a lot better.

Went there today. Wonderful staff. Awesome to see all the animals. The only thing that was bad was they have a turtle that roams free. So there was poop on the carpet and lots of stains. But I still will be back again. Thanks for all that you do.

I hate snakes, lizards, spiders, etc. This place is full of them. Staff was very considerate of my feelings and helped me to feel comfortable (as much as possible) while allowing my kids to learn. This hands on experience was lasting- no need for me to return but it peaked the kids interest and they learn more every time they go.I love the birds and fish!

It is always exciting to what is new at the Museum. They have very interesting critters there. The kids love it.

Very fun place! Good for all ages of kiddos from small (they have a little play area for little ones) to adults. Youre able to touch some of the animals. They staff is very helpful, and there is a neat little gift shop attached. So glad we went!

Permanently closed as of end of September, they didnt have enough funding to keep going. Theyre getting ready to move everything out and just have cleaning staff in, even though lights are on behind closed store gate.

This place was awesome. Guided tour was conducted by knowledgeable volunteers that educate you about the animals. Our 4 year old was very interested in learning as well as touching some of the animals. It took about 45 to get through the tour.

My daughter has loved this place for years.

Good fun for the kids. Knowledgable staff. Learn about different animals and get to be hands on. A little pricey, but goes to a good cause so worth it.

I was a bit skeptical when I walked in by the size of the building, but I was blown away! It was amazing! They had knowledgeable staff who let the kids touch almost everything. They taught my kids about the animals and spent a lot of time with us. I was so impressed!

The Nature Center is an amazing place. They have a wide variety of reptiles, fish, birds, and insects. You get a tour through the center guided by a biologist, and have the chance to pet many of the animals.

This place is awesome. The guides were terrific. My 6 year old was so happy to learn about the reptiles and fish. The hands on parts were amazing. Im looking forward to going back with his friends!

Ill admit, when I first walked in and handed over my credit card I was fairly sure I walked into a tourist trap. On the surface you see some fish tanks, tanks for reptiles, and a parrot in the back. The experience was vastly different than what I expected. Immediately after walking in we were greeted by one of the staff members and we began what essentially amounted to a tour through the entire facility. The staff member spent about 1.5 hours with us walking us through each exhibit, explaining all of the animals, their histories, and allowing us to touch and hold many of them as part of the entire experience. They were extraordinarily patient with our children as well, listening to their interruptions with style, and incorporating their input into the broader tour. We had a 6 and 8 year old - they both had a blast.This was a terrific experience and it feels a bit like we found a hidden gem - it was perfect for a warm afternoon while we were in the area. Both kids and parents had a lot of fun.

We bring our first grade class from Aspen, here to enhance our study of animals. All the staff are so knowledgeable and helpful. It is always a highlight of our Outdoor Education trip.
