Nice place. This is my first time there. The stairs leading to the water need work so exercise caution. Looks like a great place to fish from a boat, especially if there has been sufficient rain all season to keep the water level up. On our next trip there we will explore the bank on the other side of the bridge.

This place has been my goto place as a young boy with my dad and brothers and friends, I have been going here for years and years, its got good jump points, rope swings, sitting spot for youngins, and a good current, so it keeps it from being Stagnant, Love This place, Lots of memories!!!

Easy access, two car parking lot, or you can park on the side of the road. Make shift steps down to the edge of the river. Rocks are very slippery, so I suggest entering the water to the right through the sandy shallow area. There are a handful of ropes hanging from different spots on the bridge. Current is a little strong, so not very suitable for people who cant actually swim. There is a shallow spot that goes out like 10 feet, shallow enough for children around 5-10 years old, then it drops off. Overall a great spot to swim!

This is a nice car stop at the covered bridge. It’s essentially a small parking area next to the bridge which goes over the river. There isn’t any fancy structure to climb or trails to go on. The bridge however is nice to walk across, look down from or take pictures of spanning across the river. The sun is usually favorable to lighting the bridge around midday. There is a small spot to go down to the river on the opposite side from the parking area.

One of the best swimming holes around! Can get crowded, especially on weekends and hot days. People should be aware that 1) there are turtle nests, please be careful! and 2) the area is frequently monitored by police, and there is a no alcohol rule from them that isnt posted. Also, it is open to public access during the day but considered trespassing after dark.

Babbs Bridge is a covered bridge spanning the Presumpscot River on Hurricane Road, between the towns of Gorham and Windham in Cumberland County, Maine. Built in 1976, it is a replica of a 19th-century bridge that stood on the site until destroyed by fire in 1973.

Nice covered bridge. Excellent place to kayak and fish. There are no parking signs around the bridge but people park there anyway as its easy to do so and not be in the road. Legally, Im not sure if its okay.

Babbs Bridge is a fun little spot, well-known by some and hidden from most. Its a 1976 replica of a 19th century covered bridge. There are some small trails along the edge of the Presumpscot, shallow rocks and sand for wading, and a rope swing for the adventurous. A note of caution: while most drivers are careful when crossing the bridge, be careful and courteous when walking through or near the bridge.
