The sound is good. Old wooden theater seats. If you cant sit on hard suffices, bring you a pillow. You can see the stage from any seat. If you have small children, try to sit them in the isle so they can see the stage. Bathrooms are clean and there are a lot of stalls. There is an elevator to get to the balcony. The line up of shows are good acts.
People who work there are very good at trying to keep the customer happy but the customers! They carry on conversations if they are bored with the movie, dont silence their phones, talk on their phones or text or take pictures of the screen. Where are the Ushers who are supposed to escort these animals out of the theater. It really lessens the movie experience!
Love the fact that an old movie theaterc was turned into a performing arts venue. The talent is local, and AWESOME!!
Newer small theatre that had room in the wings for many stage props. Good setting for high school or local community theatre.
Nice place to watch a show. Comfortable seats, nice area downtown
Great space with simply charming productions and staff, could not recommend it more!
So great for events. Very nostalgic and beautifully taken care of.
Seats are very comfortable. The theater is extremely clean and I think theyve got the best popcorn I have ever eaten.
I love going to the Paramount. And any time you are going to see the Malpass Brothers you know it will be fabulous. They put on a great show & you leave with a smile on your face!
My husband and I enjoyed an excellent performance of A White Christmas.
We went to see Stagestrucks Beauty and the Beast. It was good. Theres a lot of work put into it but I think it is overpriced. We would go to more if it wasnt so expensive to see the kids perform. I also feel the same way about kids dance recitals.
Great atmosphere, easy access to restrooms and concessions.
It was clean staff courteous, but food outrageously expensive. Enjoy 5 dollar movies, just eat and drink before you go
A wonderful piece of downtown Goldsboro! Be sure to take in a show!
Staff is friendly and very helpful.
Stephen Freeman is an outstanding Elvis Presley tribute artist. If he and his incredible band are playing near you, make it a point to experience the magic they create on stage. The Paramount is a beautifully renovated theater space with great sight lines. The staff was both knowledgeable and friendly.
Small group but excellent shows. So nice not to have to pay $100 for just an hour because those prices arent realistic for my income.
Enjoyed the local Nutcracker ballet.
Beautiful theater and a good place to see live performances. They could use some new personal microphones, the last few shows we went had some popping and other issues. However, that may not be entirely the venues fault.
This is such a neat little theatre. Some great performances also
Very entertaining evening with The Hitmen A Capella, Speak of the Devil from Duke University and the very talented and well prepared and coached A Capella group from Eastern Wayne High School. Well Done.
Had a great time watching my granddaughter s dance recital.
Great place and a great service to the community. Wether it be a live play or a movie they always have something going on. Great staff and a beautiful historic building make for a wonderful experience.
I enjoyed it! They played Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which is my all time favorite movie! They had popcorn, drinks and candy, from what I could tell, and everyone really seemed to have enjoyed themselves!
Host facility to a wide variety of programs. I enjoy visitig restored buildings and partaking in their activities. The Paramounts programs never fail to please.
I enjoy going to the paramount theater great entertainment and atmosphere
Went to Dance For Christ. What a touching show!
They did a good job performing the musical Oklahoma this weekend.
Goldsboro has amazingly and surprisingly high culture. The Paramount is an elegant and exciting theater, and its been a blast to be there both as cast and audience, most lately of the annual Christmas musical, Child of the Promise. Its part of the lively scene downtown by the railroad tracks, a lovely evening walk down shops and restaurants. its great :)
Beautiful place with great shows!!!
Friendly people, great performance, only problem is that the seats are small and close together no room to move at all.
Very good show and it brought back memories from days past.Keep up the good work.
Great place went to see DFC everyone should go.
All around the perfect place to go for any and all live shows!!
Always clean. Friendly staff and a Great show. Great family entertainment.
Love this place.
Great setup and easy to get around.
James Gregory was awesome
Pretzels would have been nice. Overall good experience.
Sooooo nice! Really enjoyed the venue!
IT WAS A SPECTACULAR EVENING AND THE PERFORMERS SHOULD ADVERTISE ON SOCIAL MEDIA SEVERAL MONTHS IN ADVANCE AN RADIO STATION SO THAT THE THEARTER CAN BE JAMMED PACK, MARCUS ANDERSON IS A HIGHLY ENTERTAINING SPECIAL ENTERTAINER AND SHOULD BE BOOKED TO COME BACK ASAP! LOL I LOVE YOU HIM N HES HANDSOME TO AN HIS TWIN BROTHER
It was just great nothing else to say
Very cool place
Dr. Wilding health program is awesome. The Paramount Theater is a great place to hold classes.
Always a blast! Something for all ages.
Only movie theater in town so you know theyre the best ;)
The Child Of Promise was an absolute wonderful show!! A must see!!
Wonderful community gathering place. Very inclusive. Great diversity in presentations.
Nice place to go see a show.
Great place for shows.
Child of Promise
Ailey II performance was amazing, outstanding. They never disappoint.
So beautiful, and they have great shows!
Very good performance by Dance for Christ! A need to see!
I love having this theater and its events available to Goldsboro and Wayne County. We dont go as often as we should. We went to see Center Stage Theaters production of Robin Hood last weekend and had a ball.Every seat is good, parking is sufficient; no line for the ladies; prices are fair and affordable. Whats not to like? You can drive an hour away and not be able to say that about some of the big city venues.Well come back. Very glad the Paramount was rebuilt.
Thanks for the wonderful experience the comedians were excellent
As someone who has both worked on the stage as actor and viewed many fantastic shows in the gallery as an audience member, i love the paramount theater! Its a modern jewel among all the buildings in Goldsboros historic downtown area
The Nutcracker Ballet was great.
Has a lot of potential but they need better shows and more advertising
Great redo of the original Paramount Theater very comfortable
Clean, Friendly and the acoustics is great.
Great people, great shows, always something to see and do! Wonderful place you must check out!
Nice family place for kids n family
I am very disappointed you have a lot of things going on for white people. But not enough for the blacks.would like to see more for blacks.like Gospel singers like Kirk Franklin, Donnie mcclurin.or even some r&b soul.lets not 4get about us..
Great aray of different live shows to go see
Great venue for a play or concerts in Downtown Goldsboro
Vintage theater with antique fixtures and charm that are a pleasure to enjoy for any affair. They keep an active schedule of entertainment, but are also available for renting the facility for private events.
It was so good and awesome
This is a wonderful venue with a surprisingly wide variety of events.
PLEASE BE ADVISED! This is meant as an informative review, not a bad review of the Paramounts 34th Annual Nutcracker. I took my niece, Mom and a friend to the Nutcracker, Saturday nights showing, as a get in the Christmas spirit gift. We, along with other audience members, left at intermission. This performance was not what the subtitle, the advertisement or its own review said it was. It is simply a recital, a local ballet class of teens and tweens along with whomever in the community that wants to participate. It is a low budget, poorly executed and choreographed, and way overpriced recital. I paid $77 of my very hard earned money (as I work extra around the holidays) for my near and dear to enjoy a night of Christmas cheer, to see a famous rendition of the Nutcracker. Instead, we sat through only the first hour of a childrens recital. After we all agreed to leave early, I apologized the entire way back for wasting their time, for telling them that it was a well-reviewed and professional (per Paramounts website) performance, and I regretted spending that money on an amateur pantomime/dance show that was clearly intended for the parents of the dancers that pay for their childrens participation in said ballet class. The kids did a good job, a few did a great job. This is NOT a review of those children. Just FYI: If you have a child or grandchild, or a niece or nephew performing in this show then GO SEE! If you do not have a relative performing in the show and youre just looking for nice holiday entertainment, DO NOT SEE!As of today, Ive submitted a request for a refund. Paramount mislead by its description and by omission the caliber of this show; ie: famous - original & exciting - 75 dancers - marvelously imagined - praised by audiences.Absent was the fact that this is a childrens recital. Parents pay for them to attend this ballet class kind of recital. Very disappointed, disenchanted and apologetic.
Clean...fun..enjoyed movie...
Excellent acoustics and views from every seat in the house.
Child of the Promise was excellent!
Love this store have a lot of nice stuff
Show was great!
Nice clean space great venue
I just got back from a fantastic show! The Water Coolers were amazing--Broadway-level musical comedy that invited members of the audience on stage, had everybody laughing and repeating jokes in the lobby. The staff were friendly and helpful--offered lots of information about next years season and other performances coming up, helped folks find their seats, asked at intermission how people were enjoying the show. There was a reception upstairs for sponsors with free wine, beer, and snacks (Im a little jealous...wish it were in my budget to be a sponsor myself). The only reason I rate the appeal as very good is because Im comparing to big cities where I attend other arts events--but for a theatre of its size and location, the Paramount absolutely outdoes itself with great performances for all ages and interests. As far as the other review (below), I am curious when Ms. Graves last went to the Paramount--in the past month alone, it showcased NC Centrals Jazz Ensemble, Shana Tucker (who was FANTASTIC--best concert of the year, for my money) on cello and jazz/R&B vocals, 9th Wonders Fashion Show, a church play The Pastors Test, and most recently a production of Show Boat, which may have been the most moving exploration of racial tension in the Old South that theatre can provide. This is to say nothing of other productions before--Mike Wyly has performed multiple times, including school shows, and there was an American Idol-style gospel event last year.I realize its coming from a biased source--I attend as many events at the Paramount as I can every year--but truly: if you think theres not something for you at the Paramount, whatever your tastes may be, you just havent looked for it. Next years season has a bit of everything: puppeteering comedy, classical symphony, funk/R&B, Beatles, Southeastern indie/folk, and classic movies like Young Frankenstein and the Princess Bride. For everyone who complains that theres nothign to do in Goldsboro, youre on notice: the Paramount is ALWAYS something to do in Goldsboro.
Great show but remember your sweater if your child natured. It was kind of chilly in there.
Stagestruck is amazing and so was the stage layout
Saw the NC Symphony play a free concert here, and saw Camelot. Community hub.
