Small little place with some cool stuff inside and a little gift shop. The staff there was extremely helpful and provided me a map and gave information as far as where to go to see the cool stuff.
Fun place to go, free to walk. Great way to get out with the kids and get some exercise.
An incredible experience! Hard to believe you can stand at the edge of an ancient beach with dinosaur tracks at over 5000 feet. I very nice hike with beautiful views and a walk back through time. Lots of information to take in about the history of the Colorado area. Highly recommended.
My kids absolutely loved this place. My 3-year-old son loved the dinosaur video games and my daughter enjoyed the play area. It had the option to put on a puppet show, dinosaur toys, train tracks, litebrite, books, and a cave with a slide. Some of the video games were out of order. The gift shop is very, very reasonably priced.
Went to see the After Dark program Salacious in the Cretaceous. Highly entertaining, informative, and Ill never look at a stegosaurus the same way. Erin and Kat did a fabulous job. A great Valentines day event.
Saw lots of dinosaur footprints, fossilized seabed and bones still in the rock. I even bought an amazing fossil ammonite in the gift shop.
Great short stop after hiking the ridge or going to Red rocks
Very satisfied. friendly amazing staff.
Seeing dinosaur bones you can actually touch and feel! So amazing especially for a free hike. A storm did come in when we were up the mountain on a short hike, but it was refreshing. Its fun to watch the bikers go done paths your shoes just had issues with. The climb up the hill from the visitor center and parking is a little strenuous but they offer shuttles and I think they are free. Otherwise be prepared to run across the highway. To me it added to a fun memory. You will learn quite a bit before being able to go back down the hill to the car or on a hike trail. Perfect view of red rocks from here. Better view then being there
Do you like dinosaurs? Well then its a no brainer.
Love to go around this area. The museum is ok. What is nice you can take a tour where even the dinosaur footprints. I recommend it. Nice way to spend time with family.
Really great family fun, a local treasure.
Such a good little stop in Morrison. If youre heading to Red Rocks for a concert, think about maybe taking a stop here.Dinosaur ridge is so close to Denver and has some really interesting things like fossilized eggs and trails where you can see other fossils and even some dinosaur footsteps. While the building maintained by Friends of Dinosaur Ridge is small, it is a wealth of information and the people working there are more than happy to answer your questions.Cool for anyone who cares about rocks, fossils, and learning about dinosaurs in the United States.
Great natural fossil beds, easy up close viewing. They offer a shuttle tour, but for the price, we opted to walk and werent sorry. Its an easy walk and allows for lingering where you are more interested in things. Museum isnt much, but has a couple of cool fossils. Honestly, park at the bottom of the ridge, walk and read the signs is probably the best approach here. The backside of the ridge also provided a nice view of red rocks park and amphitheatre.
On the other side of the ridge from main visitor center. It has nice exhibits for a quick visit for kids and grownups. Also can walk the road to look at everything, though really should take the tour from the main visitor center.
Kids loved it and so did we.
Great for young kids. Made a dinosaur dreidel with my 3 yr old grandson. Fun project with lots of dinosaurs around
Nice little stop, beautiful area, the hike to the tracks is easy, great to let the kids check out.
Only 2/3 mile hike to see dinosaur bones embedded in rock, bulges in layers of rock where dinosaurs have walked, and dozens of footprints of three types of dinosaurs. The sign at the start of the hike says its 45 minutes to the tracks (the footprints), but that includes the time it takes to stop and read the informational signs that explain what you are seeing. We made it to the tracks with two adults and two kids (7 & 11) in 41 minutes, and back down in about 15. There are some uphill spots on the way to the tracks, also a port a potty and places to sit (large rocks, no benches), or if youre younger and full of energy, climb or go on additional trails. The Dinosaur Ridge museum/gift shop staff were friendly and helpful, and the museum has some cool displays and a video/play area that my kids enjoyed. This is within less than five minutes of the Red Rock Amphitheatre, which is also well worth a stop.
The guides are very knowledgeable. We bought the combo pack, guided tour through the museum and Dinosaur Ridge. Well worth it. We live locally and have taken are kids there for years. Now we are taking our granddaughter. If you like dinosaurs, this is the place to visit. You will learn a lot!
It was good. More info on the map would have been much appreciated. Overall a neat free stop.
Lots of history. Great learning experience. Loved it
This place is super cool for little kids as well as adults. Its a small building but the staff were super friendly and reccomend some amazing hikes. Worth stoping!
A wonderful, modest exhibit and information center. What a cool place to have access to so easily here in Denver!
Stopped in for a craft session they were having, my son really enjoyed it. It isnt a big museum but they do have several fossils to look at and some to touch.
I work there it so fun.Alex Lopez.
Cute little place that could use more outdoor things to see and do. The small building gets cramped easily. Regardless, definitely fun to visit at least once.
Awesome little measum wish we could of tour the out door part but my son started getting hot and he was only 3 months will be coming back again
This is a great place to see dinosaur bones up close. The staff is wonderful. We had a great time.
Definitely more of a place for kids but the staff was very knowledgeable and the artifacts very cool. Dont forget to snag a photo with their life sized dinosaur statue!
A little expensive but it was cool
Great place to check out!!
The discovery center is small but informative. The footprints in the stone up on the ridge are very cool to see. All in all good for an hour.
Dinosaur skeletons and fossils, eggs. Very interesting and fun
Super close to red rocks and a cool place to visit. You can take a bus tour, walk around yourself, or just check out the gift shop on the way to or from red rocks. Awesome to see real dino foot prints!
Stop in on your way out of Red Rocks! Its small, quaint, and very outdated, but the people were incredibly nice and i found some cool treasures in the gift shop!
Great introduction to the dinosaur history of the area. Who wouldve guessed that much of a Colorado was a sea?
Nice place to take the kids and see some fossilized footprints and bones. Its a nice walk, but there is no protection from the sun so wear sunscreen.
A must see bit of rarely advertised Colorado! Its worth the bit of walking and you will leave having gained a little knowledge of the vast history of the continent.
Well worth the hike!
Nice place we had no idea was even here. The lady that works there was very helpful and answer all our questions and she knows a lot of stuff about what they are offering at this location and over the ridge close to the highway. We bought some knickknacks and the price was not bad. If you want to see where the dinosaurs walked millions of years ago you should visit.
Neat little Discovery center near the end of Dinasaur trail. Clean restroom facilities. Allocate about 20 minutes to see the exhibits. There are some children areas for hands on Discovery. Enjoy.
Good exercise with information along the way, its the great outdoor for family fun.
Informative, friendly staff. Learned a lot about an area Ive never been to in a short time. Neat place
Cool place. Small but it was a great stop when we were at Red Rocks. The young lady working was also very knowledgeable. Love their gift shop
Small and dinky, not much to see. And the hike up the road for fossils wasnt worth it either, you cant see much more than dirt layers where they say that layer is where fossils are found but you dont see anything interesting. It is a nice area in the afternoon sunshine away from the city traffic where hikers and bikers were happy.
Personally, getting to see dinosaur tracks like this is fantastic. This place was neat and the staff were friendly.
A quick 10 minute stopping place
Knowledgeable staff and a few cool exhibits.
The Discovery Center was really neat. One worker was great. The other one should be fired. We went in and asked how to see Dinosaur Ridge. The one who should be fired sent us walking up the ridge with a 1 and 3 year old. It hit 104 that day. When we got to the top there was a tour bus coming up the other side. When we got back to the visitor center, that same worker was selling tickets for the tour bus. Why werent we told about the tour bus? Is there a secret code for it? Or was it incompetence at the desk?
Lots cool stuff to see!
Easy drive from anywhere in Colorado. The parking lot is very small but you may park on the roadway in front. Nice visitor center where you can buy souvenirs and learn about what dinosaurs were around in the area. There is an option to take a guided tour bus up to the ridge or you can walk. Along the way to the top, plenty of stops pointing out footprints, fauna, rock formations, etc. Once at the top, lots of beautiful surrounding scenery, dinosaur bones, more tracks, ripple marks from early streams. A must for a day hike or family outing.
We took a guided tour and it was amazing. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable and went a long way to making our four-year-old feel like a real part of the tour. It was excellent.
Planning to return with the kids, very cool!
Spectacular view from here
The dinosaur tracks and fossils were very cool to check out.
Free, get some exercise seeing and learning some interesting stuff on fossils and how time has drastically changed that area. There is a small guided/bus tour offered, not sure how exactly it worked though.. Seemed easy enough.
Small exhibits, but really friendly staff and super close to the dino ridge walking area
Absolutely loved it great outdoors activity and learning opportunity for kids and nice hiking for adults
To Arapahoe Residents, A must Go!We saw so many interesting Fossils, beautiful Stones, fossilized clams that are Beautimus etc...
Great way to see dinosaur fossils without walking uphill. We prefer to walk but know others can’t.
Awesome place to take kids..very informative
We visited from the road off red rocks, and walked the ridge. Parking is limited and there are less people who do it that way, if you do, there is some uphill walking to get around but it is worth it. The volunteers were nice and knew a lot of the area. Day we were there it was over 90 degrees so be sure to have water and sun screen.
Excellent self guided tours, great visitor center!
This is a small secondary museum at the entrance to Red Rocks Ampitheater. It has a wonderful little exhibit and play area for the kids and is FREE! You can drive over to the visitors center from here in about 7 minutes to grab a guided bus tour daily!
Pretty but not a cool as I hoped.
This is a great place if you love fossils. The people that do the tours are very knowledgeable and some are volunteering their time. You can take kids, school classes and they offer teacher courses over the summer for credit (they do cost money, but not much). It rocked and I loved it!!
Take the tour. This is an amazingly rich treasure trove of fossils. Its like walking back in time when you can see and touch an actual dinosaur fossil. You get to hear about the paleontology and forensics that tell the story of these amazing creatures. Fun for everyone young and old alike.
Nice little place with information about the extensive dinosaur tracks in the area.
We love this place. Go everytime we are in denver. We walked the dinosaur ridge this last time it is a long walk and the walk back is exhausting cuz its kindly up hill but it was beautiful and we loved it..
It was too snowy for us to do much, but the woman inside the facility was very kind and welcoming. we will definitely come back
Cute little place with some fun exhibits for the kids
Really awesome! Its amazing to see real dinosaur footprints and learn about the different dinosaurs that lived in this area. We took a bus tour. And the guide was very knowledgeable.
If you want to do the tour you must know there are two different centers and only one does the tour.
Not much to see and very over priced gift shop
Fantastic staff. They are a non profit and have a large selection of rocks and fossils for sale at the most reasonable prices Ive seen in over 30 years. Id recommend this place to anyone!
Fantastic tour by Ritchie, a paleontologist. Discovery centers laid out well and very informative with engaging and knowledgable staff.
Very friendly staff with a few exhibits on the fossils in the area and souvenirs. Highly recommend hiking the Dinosaur Ridge Trail. Great views and you get to see real fossils close up.
We love the dino talks!
It is a bit small, but the tour was interesting and the dinosaur bone structures were plentiful. This place finds dino bones, creates molds, and then sells the molds and bones to museums. It was a cool place.
Very interesting dinosaur exhibits. Very knowledgable and helpful. Nice giftshop!
Great discovery center! They are so helpful and knowledgable! Prices in gift shop are decent too!
Had my run of the place...
This was a cute little park. Nobody ever wanted to stop here with me and finally my friend did. Please make sure to bring a little cash to donate. Cute little gift shop too.
I loved this place..great for schools, family outings, better to do in fall temperatures...I went in summer and basically died from heat...has a gift shipped I really loved.
This was so neat!! Great for families!
