Decent for the price. All of the holes are on top of each other and you can easily find yourself hitting off the wrong fairway. Greens could have been in better shape. I also recommend geese control. Those Canadian chickens are on just about every hole. You can play at foothills for similar price with nice greens and no chickens.

Affordable short par 71 course. It is in great shape considering the green fees. The greens are slow but that is expected, still in decent shape. Unlike many courses at this rate that simply go back and fourth all straight, the holes here uses the slope available (which is not much) as well as creeks and ponds. Hole 8 is my favorite as a dog leg sharp left that goes directly up hill at the bend. You can lay up straight or cut the corner for a short approach, or if you feel greedy you could go for a blind tee shot right at the green. Lots of options on this hole! Expect pace of play to be slow as the course is busy with intermediate/newer golfers here. Fun course and would recommended.

Great rates at this course tougher than it looks though because the fairways are so narrow. Will definitely play again because of the price!

My kids did half day golf camp here and loved it!! They primarily work on the putting green and driving range. The teachers are positive, helpful, and great with kids.

Greens had been aerated so putting was challenging. Everything else was fine.

This company bends the contact. It states due to force major that during this pandemic we can get a refund. Their refusing to give it! They dont live by their contract and its very very sad! Taking advantage of people in a pandemic is horrible.

Tee time started 30 minutes late, and after only playing 16 holes, the bartender ignored me trying to pick up my Credit Card.

The food at the golf course is horrible. I ate one bite and asked for a refund, but they said no it was just me. Very rude and unprofessional. The Manager never got back to me either after I filed a compliant.

This is a fun golf course. It is a great confidence builder as it is an easy scoring course. The staff is great! The course is in good condition but could be better.

I love this golf course. Sure, there are nicer ones around town but Applewood gives you a lot of bang for your buck. The staff is super friendly and breakfast burritos are superb.They have amazing views on certain holes also.My only wish is that they would allow hitting off grass more often on their driving range. It seems more often than not, they only have the mats when I find time to hit the range.Otherwise, for the price, this course is wonderful and my go-to course for practice and play.

The staff and management at Applewood Golf Course are the best. They go out of their way, to help with Special Olympics, and youth groups. The course is well maintained and a beautiful place to play.

If youre around town and you want to do some swing. Applewood is nice to do it. Cheap and they have a good menu for foods and drinks.

This is one of the most fun golf courses I have played at. The golf shop has very good food, and the course itself is well maintained and looks beatiful. It is an interesting corse with a good mix of doglehs and straight holes.

The greens were in pretty good shape and tough. One green was fast the other slow and well contoured. I enjoyed this wide open course, as I hadnt played in 10 years.

I am editing this in response to a phone message from management. My previous review was not with the intent of receiving discounted or free services. I appreciate them taking responsibility for the experience my friend and I had at their course. After playing here many times, this was the only negative occurrence Ive had, and shouldnt reflect their usual great service.

I dont know, >$50 for rough conditions and very slow play? Rumor had it (theres plenty of time to shoot the breeze at the tee box with the people in front and behind you) that they start a foursome every 8 minutes on weekends. 12-15 would be more in line with industry. Beer cart didnt come around until hole 17, after 1pm. And, had a guy blasting music pulling right up to the tee box while were teeing off! The ranger didnt care about that or slow play either. Like the Caddyshack movie. Save your money.

First time... Last time... I came out on a weekday mid-winter and was surprised by how bad conditions were for the price. The layout is boring and lacks any imagination. On top of dreadful fairways and bunkers I got stuck behind the golf pro pairing that decided 12+ practice swings on every shot was a reasonable rate of play. Disappointed. There are too many better courses nearby for the same price. Hard Pass.

This is a great location for events! Just had my wedding there this past weekend and they sure know how to host one amazing event! Keely is absolutely the best and th staff is amazing!!! Beautiful views and had the best comments on the food! Highly recommended

Real diamond in the rough! Fantastic rural setting with a wonderful layout. I was a expecting the property to be surrounded with busy roads, subdivisions and/or commercial properties. Excellent views of the mountains and surrounding areas. The only thing better than the golf course was the staff. Carla was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. This golf property and staff are a real jewel on the front range. I plan to go back!

Staff is amazing, people are friendly BUT......prepare for the slowest round of your life. Log jams on every hole, the players dont play READY golf, and somehow think they are going to hit the green on their 3rd shot from 230 out when it took them 2 ground balls to get 140 yards off the tee box. Have played several times and have yet to see a marshall on the course to kick them in the rear to get them going. *bonus*get the twilight membership! The free range balls pays for the $50/mo after a few times out.

Applewood golf course hosted our CCU Softball golf tournament and we cant wait until next year! The golf course is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. Rob is a magnificent host and seems to truly enjoy his job. I have to say that the food was amazing and perhaps the very best I have ever had at a golf tournament. For the price, quality, location, course, staff, etc., this is the very best bargain in the city for a golf tournament. Thanks Rob and staff!

Way to expensive for over booked slow play

Great course. Some of the negative reviews were when CO was in a major drought. The last two years (rainy) this course has been great.Staff is friendly, relaxed pace and not uppity. Plus you cant beat 18 holes for 18 bucks for their twilight hours. Mid June-Early July you can easily get in 18 if you dont get stuck behind slow parties. If you do, the staff is pretty good with rain-checks.The backdrop is great too, mountains right there. Only complaint is their lack of a chipping green but they dont seem to mind if you chip at the putting green as long as there are not a lot of people putting.

Pretty expensive for the quality. Ive played much better courses in the area for better prices. Bought a bucket of balls and the guy took my money and helped someone else without giving me the coins. When i was still standing there he asked me what i needed, i said the coins i payed for and he made some joke. Not terribly impressed. driving range was in pretty good shape, pace was slow, lots of older people taking their time.

This was my first golf lesson, I never played golf before. Tim was awesome. I left excited for my next lesson.

Havent played golf here. However, we walked through when it was snowing and it was beautiful. Im not sure if we were allowed to walk through, but the course was closed. Thank goodness it was saved from development.

They shove you out as fast as they can, being three deep and waiting over 10 minutes per hole is the norm here. They have no starter, so spacing out the players does not exist. Extremely frustrating and did not enjoy my round.

Applewood hosted our 5th annual company tournament with nearing 144 golfers and Rob and his staff did an impeccable job. Robs knowledge and follow through made our job the easiest ever in hosting a company sponsored tournament.The greens and fairways were green and groomed. The food in the over-sized banquet room was fantastic. Overall experience was a 5 star rating and exceeded our expectations!

Six years ago I vowed never to play this course again for a couple reasons. One, play is always slow, always. Even if you have a tee time in the morning it is a 5.5 hour plus round. Ridiculous for a course that is only 6300 yards. Two, course is terribly maintained. Brown grass everywhere, greens not taken cared of, divots everywhere.I decided to give this course a try again yesterday. Not by choice but because we waited too long and this was the only course that had an open tee time in the morning when we like to go out. My second experience here was worst then the first one. Im just going to list bullet points of things that are wrong with this course to keep this review short as I can ramble on when I feel so passionate to let others know to make an informed decision. Here we go:1. Course maintenance has not gotten any better. Worse actually.2. Play is slower than it was 6 years ago.3. Mentioned the slow play to the ranger and all the backups on each and every hole. The ranger and his cart buddy look at us and say what backups. Seriously? And why are there two of you in one cart.4. They were having a tournament and threw us out on the 3rd hole with the tournament to play our round. Who does that? They decided to fill up a shotgun scramble to penny pinch innocent golfers reserving tee times online and not even offering a discount mentioning anything about your group possibly starting off on any hole with hundreds of golfers.5. Golfers are constantly yelling at each other because of this poorly maintained and non caring management that this place has.6. I was not allowed to walk the course becuase they sent us out in the middle of a tournament. Course is way over priced. $50 with a cart for what is not much better than an executive course.Will never come back again. And if you love to enjoy a round of golf dont come to this place. Not sure how it still exists.

Just had a bachelor party of 16 people... and had an AMAZING time! The staff was extremely friendly from start to finish. They let us set up some games along the course, gave us a great group rate for what we got and the course was in great shape. Strongly recommend, especially for large group outings.

This course is always challenging and that is one of the main reasons we like to play it.Plus we enjoy the specials that are offered throughout the year.

This is an older, shorter, quirky golf course that some local love and others will play for variety or price. The course prides itself in being chemical free, but water and air are chemicals....The longest tees are 6288y, its a par 71, and the rating is 67.9 slope 119 from blue, 66.3 slope 116 from white, and ladies play 68.9 slope 121. The greens are often uneven and the fairways can be oddly bony. If you arent playing for score or handicap, these things may not matter. Still there are par 5 holes much less than 500y, which some people like...or prefer. So if length is a challenge, this course could be to your liking. Though bombers may find the creek on #18 with a driver.Beware on some of the holes, since cutting the corners are a common ploy, though doing so on #8 is not a legal play. Fwiw, cutting down a big greenside cottonwood on #16 altered the tactics, making it much easier.They have a Players Club (member ish rates) for not much, so if you play here more than 3 times a year, its worth it. Also the course is very walkable.The restaurant had friendly staff and some good clubhouse deals. Hopefully the drink options will continue to expand.The locals fought hard to keep this course from being another housing development, so credit them for their efforts.

Course was fun, and if you get the groupon its definitely worth it. Not the best course Ive played. Im from up north, but my friends and I saw the groupon and jumped at it. We were expecting an awful course based on the reviews, and were pleasantly surprised. Pro shop staff and bar staff were friendly, driving range is nice with actual distance markers, and course overall was in great shape. Lots of tee boxes were closed as they had just planted sod or something. once those open, they will be great from the looks. Be warned though, their rough is seriously thick. It wont look like it, but you WILL lose club speed. Not used to that.
