First time there and we started with nachos which the fact that they were made in house from deep fried tortillas was a great surprise but they could have been much better if they added a little more cheese and salted the chips after deep frying with some sea salt. Main course was the hot pastrami sandwich with a lot of meat on thin bread that couldnt hold the meat after the juice set in. Maybe thicker bread or toasted would help. The mustard was standard yellow where brown or spicy mustard would of added a star to this rating.

Great little bar with live music. Not A ton of seating.

Loved the music! 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night in early October. We came for drinks and appetizers. Were visiting from Cleveland. The place is filled with local senior citizens tonight, and were loving it. Everybody is singing! Playing the Eagles, Bob Dylan, Peter-Paul-Mary, Louis Armstrong, Crosby-Stills-Nash, Simon-Garfunkel, and some original songs in the folk style. Taking requests. The atmosphere is happy, very cozy, and friendly. Waitress is so sweet. She brought my husband some free beer to try. We had delicious cheese sticks and a humongous warm pretzel. I love this place!

I told my friends about this place with my warmest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The the cooking is flavorable and the crew is welcoming and cooperative. always when we eat in this place we pass a pleasing evening. I warmly recommend this restaurant.

My daughter and I stopped in here after spending the day on the beach. We found it on a Google search. It looked promising, if not a bit of a dive. We were starving and hoping to eat as quickly as possible. We were in the wrong place for that. We saw that it was more of a bar than a restaurant but were hopeful anyway. We sat ourselves and waited about 5 minutes to be acknowledged, then were given water and ignored for over 15 minutes. I managed to get the attention of one of the (apparently only 2?) servers and she started walking over to us but then detoured to stand and talk to two men at another table for another 5 minutes. It was apparent she was more interested in talking than taking our order. We ended up walking out and finding a wonderful place to eat. I would never set food in here again. I might note we were the only people at any of the tables aside from the 2 men who the waitress were so interested in. They were not eating. Just drinking. I guess you get great service if you are drinking. Not so much if you want food.

Great atmosphere, good band(Big Moneymakers are great, they usually play the first Friday of each month), and decent prices.

The food is very good. But to me thats the second reason I frequent this place. The first reason is that they pull in the best local music talent on a regular basis. Attend the Monday Night Open Jam and try to keep your jaw off the floor from awe!

I love the live music. There is always different bands but of course the popular ones always come back. They have open Mic every Monday which is nice to hear different types of music in one night!

French dip is the bomb. Its a narrow place that gets really cramped.

Oldest bar in town, so Im told. Met legends, saw great bands, and felt as welcomed as if I were from here. Musicians, bartenders, and crowd were grounded, real, & warm. Made me want to move here.

I saw all the good reviews about this place while staying close by and decided to take my wife out for some drinks and live music. Let me tell you, these high rated reviews for this place are bogus. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Not only was it dirty but the atmosphere was gross. I cant say anything about the food because we didnt order.

This is a locals hangout/bar and everyone is friendly. The food is really good, Ive never been disappointed. The owner, Fred, mixes up the menu specials nicely. The staff are all great! Drinks are always good and the entertainment is really good or fun, if its trivia night!. Check out Thursday nights music with Dave Sags & Friends (usually).

What can I say, if you have been there then nothing I could say would be something you didnt know, and if you havent you need go experience it for yourself, no pointers, just figure it out, call it the learning curve, or the Darwin line, but definitely note I gave it 5 stars.

Went in to the bar. Waited a bit and wasnt greeted. So i spoke up, and bartender said i can sit anywhere. So i sat at bar. Bartender barely spoke to me. So i ordered a couple of drinks. She rarely checked with me to see how i was doing, as she kept walking by me over and over even when I made eye contact.Most of the time i tried speaking with her she gave me very curt short answers and walked away even before i could finish my sentences. Too bad i was such an inconvenience trying to chat and get to know the place better seeing that I live nowhere close to Gloucester. In the end i had to wait almost 10 mins to pay my tab.This is sad, cuz the reviews were excellent and i was looking forward to a great evening that was unexpectedly cut very short. Wont be stopping by there anytime soon.
