5 stars because its a funky little cozy old fashioned cinema. Dont expect a high end modern place and youll be happy.

Small place, but a good place to see the opening of a movie. Saw the new Star Wars movie, enjoyed the seat reservation and the lower price. Movie started right away!

Small hometown cinemas, very helpful and friendly staff, literally waited for everyone to enter before starting the movie due to a terrible rain storm so no one in line would miss the beginning, excellent bucket of popcorn too!

So proud of this place. Charming hometown cinema. No frills but friendly ma and pa atmosphere. It is hard for small independent theaters to stay in business. Keep up the good work.

Growing up on Cape Ann, we always enjoyed going to the movies at Gloucester Cinema. I just had a really great experience having my daughters 9th birthday party here. The owner John was so accommodating and made our party very easy to host. I highly recommend Gloucester Cinema!

Intimate theaters. Almost like being at home . Friendly staff. Reasonable ticket prices and food prices.

The outside may look a little dated, but the staff is very friendly and helpful, the seats are amazingggg (much better than newer, larger establishments down 128), and the sound/picture quality was superb! And the prices are super reasonable!

Really good old time movie theater, walk in get a seat, no having to reserve and pick a seat. Park close, nice people, small theaters, first round films. A treasure.

Great place to take the family! Better rates per ticket than out of town, friendly staff, current movie selection, good hours of operation. Clean, excellent theaters and comfortable seating. Family owned and operated. 5/5 Experience every time.

When all the other theaters are sold out, Gloucester Cinema always comes through as one of the lesser know local cinemas. They always have the new movies I want to see and because the theaters are so small theres no seat with a bad angle. Its clean and well run. Highly recommended

Food poor and way overpriced. Good for children...that means....adults should see movies in a regular theater.

We love Gloucester cinema! Always have the new movies and it doesnt cost a fortune to see it. Great for kids too! Fun games out front and the owner is really nice. Wish more locals would take advantage of this place as Im afraid if more people dont, it wont be there much longer. Support local businesses!!!

The guy that owns this place hustles for his customers. He sells the tickets then he sells the concessions he wears all the hats to create the customer experience. It feels a little bit like going to the circus as its a little campy out front but that is all part of the charm. A good time.

Great local cinema, family owned. Reasonable prices, newest movies and reasonable candy prices. Always an enjoyable time.

The portions are huge and did I tell you how good they were. Fish chowder out of this world world great. Nothing there is bad

The movie theatre is great. The ticket price is reasonable. Its never crowded. The seats are comfortable, food is good, parking is easy, and the people are friendly.

Small place not very well kept..

I love this place...they do such a good job. On Cape Ann and dont want the hassle of the Mall for movies?? Come here! Light attendance, great refreshments. This is how the movies used to be with state of the art sound and upgrades!! Has latest movies too!

Much improved in the last few years. Way better than going out of town.

Somewhat of a dive, but inexpensive tickets to first run movies, and comfortable seats with good view.

Such an intimate experience. Ive never remembered the exact theater I saw a movie here in till 7 yrs ago. Unlike GLAHSTAAHH this cinema is sweet and such a constant treat. Les Miz Xmas. Ill miss it.xo, TN BOUND.

Small movie theater with three small/medium screens.Very friendly service, a little cheaper than big movie theaters, but the amenities reflect that.Great for casual movie viewing, wouldnt recommend for visually stunning blockbusters (where you want a giant screen, big sound, or IMAX)

Spoiled from Loews cuz of seats, but this is not a bad alternative at all. Comfortable and nicer than it looks from outside.

The good: parking, prices, food, seats always available. The bad: screens have scratches and theatres not sloped enough so view can be constricted

Hometown theater. New seats make it really comfortable.

It cool ! TV HD is cool ! 3D cool ! But popcorn are smell so bad and taste so bad but still movie is pretty good !

Could be a little better cleaned but the owner is very friendly popcorn tastlike it has been sitting ther for a while you dont have the smell of it popping

Came here with my daughter and wife to watch inside out, we were going to wait for the 9:00 showing and in the meantime I was walking towards the restroom and the guy at the ticket booth said to me in a rude way (were ya going) I told him I was going to use the restroom and he said very rudely restrooms are for customers only, i turned away with my wife and daughter and said well you dont have a customer now and he said I dont care. Guy was a complete jerk. I would never come here if it were the only movie theater on the planet! And advise other to stay away from this place as we just dont need to deal with people like that.
