Beauport is a gem. If you love old houses by the sea, great design, amazing detail and brilliant color, dont miss this. I was here years ago and couldnt get it out of my head. So great to be back.
This was simply amazing!! Well worth the cost in my opinion. Make sure to let them know if you have AAA. You get buy one get one free ticket! The house is expansive and unique. Its actually not really old but it looks much older due to the design tastes. The docent was knowledgeable and did a great job leading our group through. Before and after the tour you can spend some time walking around the beautiful grounds.
Our guide Erika was fabulous - such an amazing place!
Beautiful and educational. Excellent covid19 protocols
Intersting piece of a history, but a little underwhelming..
Really cool place with a ton of interesting history!
Such a great place to visit. The tours are small groups so plan for smaller partys to go separately. Lovely people working and providing tours.
Strange and wonderful. Hard to believe owners could cram so much unusual stuff into so many tiny rooms. Views of Gloucester Harbor from some of the rooms are gorgeous. Worth considering a visit on a rainy day at the beach.
What a cool old house! The historical society had done spectacularly in the upkeep and maintenance. Beautiful.
This house is always such a fantastic treat for the eyes. Everyone should come and enjoy.
Beauport (The Sleeper-McCann House) is an excellent place to visit if you like beatiful, well designed old homes - and interesting collections. The house is situated at the end of Eastern Point, so the views are spectacular. The staff members were all friendly, professional, and well informed. My wife and I enjoyed a special Nooks and Crannies tour today, which was excellent - but I am sure that the regular tours are also a treat.
Hidden gem... historic mansion, a must visit if your in Gloucester.
Very enjoyable tour through this beautiful historical gem.
Beautiful house to visit plus yard and ocean view are spectacular. Will go back for sunset tour.
An absolutely beautiful home with a spectacular view of the waterfront. Being here is like going back in time. Breathtaking and serene!
The tour guide was really amazing and Beauport is so interesting!
Great historical place and views of the harbor.
Such a beautiful location, rich with history and elegance! Perfect for an outing or casual tour. If you love New England history and or spending time by the ocean, this is the perfect place for you to visit!!
The Beaport Museum is amazing.
Beautiful place, indormative tours. Worth an hour of anyones time :)
Very interesting place - great museum
Great place to learn ️
This is a beautiful and historic property preserved intact as Mr. Sleeper left it, and he was a very talented and intuitive builder and designer. Most tours are an hour and that is not nearly enough time, but there is a 3 hour nooks and crannies tour that is everything you ever wanted to do in a museum. Bring a flashlight and be polite, and careful, but you can open everything, velvet ropes do not apply to you, and there is an ocean view break with refreshments in the middle. I cannot recommend this enough. Amazing!
Wonderful! I took a road trip around New England and had been to the lighthouse next to it but didnt know about the house. After a few days I was in Salem and someone told me about it and told me I had to go back to visit, that I couldnt miss it. And it really was a place that is worth going to. Its amazing, full of history and beauty. If ever youre close to it, dont miss the opportunity to visit it.
So cool to visit
Loved this charming “house museum.” A wonderful guide gave us a terrific sense of the house & its history.
Wow! Very interesting!
Fantastic architectural and historic gem on Cape Ann. A must see.
Great history, great tour!
Fabulous, unique overwhelming designers home. Well worth the cost.
Great tour - very interesting house with lots of cool architectural details and collectibles both inside and out. We took the hour tour, which was kind of rushed because there was so much to see and learn. We will be back for the 3 hour Nooks and Crannies tour!
I dont love sea food, but Beauport was good. Also, one entre can feed 2-3 people.
Great tour of a place we happened to by chance.
Really enjoyed touring this eccentricly designed, yet pragmatically put together. The guide Steve is very kind and informative. Beautiful grounds and wonderful scenery of the Gloucester harbor.
About an Hours drive from Boston, There is a Tour every hour for inside of house (buy ticket onsite). Grounds are accessible without ticket. good place to visit especially for architecture buffs. View from Back yard is good.
Fascinating tour showcasing a different time and place
Quirky house, set up as a series of show rooms. Well worth a visit
Very disappointing. Never made it inside. Days & hours differ by website, signage & answering machine. Wasted gas & time:-(
Interesting house and tour. Only downside is they make you wear booties over your shoes, which is pretty strange.
Loved it!
Wonderful visit: great guide, very interesting house, gorgeous location.
John S is a terrific guide. Thanks
Excellent!
Must see if you can.
Unusual and beautiful
Over priced
Beautiful place
Good history
Fascinating and beautiful!
Tonight we went on the Nooks and Cranny tour, 5pm to 8pm, at Beauport, a Historic New England property. Absolutely enchanting!
