I liked it for its historical value. Glad I took the back way up. I could never have made it up the front way with my Walker. Because I had one hell of a time coming down.

Good short mini hike up to a little cemetery. Pretty straight forward. The famous gunslinger is buried somewhere within the graveyard but its not known where. Memorial headstone is still cool however. Beautiful views of of Glenwood springs and hotel Colorado from upper trail.

So much history at this historic cemetery. The hike up was listed as moderate but it didnt feel like a half mile. Very clear signage to get there and friendly neighborhood to point you in the right direction. Great history and stories told.

Its always fun to see history, and it was on my husbands wish list. Beautiful town with too many wonderful things to explore and experience. I wouldve given 5 stars, but they dont warn about the quite steep and narrow trail. Barely wide enough for a horse. Its a very steep hike to the very top of the hill. A fifteen minute hike almost straight up. I dont know how they manage to still transport bodies up, but the Linwood Cemetery is still in use.

It was a great hike and I learned a lot of new and interesting information about the people who lie there. Great place to learn about the final resting places of the outcasts and outlaws of society. Truly recommend going to learn about our history.

Fun stop travelling through Colorado on the 70. One of my sons is a history buff and cowboy at heart so this was perfect for him. We have a five year old with us and the climb was a bit tough for him but doable.

The only negative is that nobody really knows where he is buried. Don’t take off up the trail in the evening if you have less than an hr of daylight left. You won’t make it down before dark and that would be extremely treacherous. Love the old cemetery though.

A must if you love western history. A nice short hike (approx. 0.7 miles), with views over Glenwood, that leads to the unassuming graveyard. Easy to park in the friendly neighborhood, talked with a few of the locals, all of which seemed happy to have us there visiting.

Given that they arent even sure where Doc Holliday is located within this cemetary, I would say this is definitely a bit of a tourist trap. But if you enjoy cemeteries and dont mind a short hike, I suppose it is something to do. Maybe go into it with low expectations.

Quite the hike so beware!! Probably best to do it when its not too hot. We didnt know at the bottom that he MIGHT be buried there. The monument isnt very well taken care of which made us sad and we actually witnessed kids throwing garbage and rocks inside the gated area. Sadly the parents didnt do much about it. it was a great view and nice history.

A must do whilst in Glenwood Springs. A little bit of history which is hidden away. The walk to the cemetery is relatively easy. Our 18mth old daughter walked the whole way up on her own in just over 10 minutes. The grave yard is authentically unkempt and there is good information boards where they need to be.A good way to spend a spare hour.

Rating this 5 stars due to the great views and the history of both the graveyard at the top and the two historical figures buried here. Hike is short and steep, but relatively easy, even in late January with snow and ice. We had the trail and cemetary to ourselves. Peaceful and beautiful! A must for anyone interested in 19th old west and outlaw history!

Quick, easy hike with tons of history and beautiful views! The placards did a great job of explaining who Doc Holliday and Kid Curry were and why they were significant. From the bottom of the trailhead to the cemetery took less than 20 minutes, at a steady pace for 3 entry level hikers. The bottom/ middle of the trail is moderately steep, but it settles out toward the top. Out and back is about a mile, so give yourself an hour and youll have plenty of time to enjoy the views and small some photos.

Doc Holliday is such a legend and his resting place is just as special. Due to the fact he was such an outlaw, no one actually marked his grave to prevent grave robbing. His headstone lies as a reminder of the life he lead and the impact he had on the town of Glenwood among many other Colorado cities. The view down the canyon is beautiful making the short hike up hill worth it. It is truly a boot hill and worth making the trek to see a piece of the history of the west.

This is a great trail to start on if youve never hiked. The views are beautiful. It does go up the mountain but its not too difficult. Our 8 year old did it easily. In fact, we passed an elementary age field trip on the way down. Im not that interested in Doc Holiday, but its fascinating to see grave stones that are 100+ years old. If you go before noon, the trail is on the shade side of the mountain.

The hike up the hill is a lot more intense than one would anticipate, especially if you are an out of towner and not yet adjusted to the altitude. Based on other reviews we were expecting a quick and easy walk up.. it is definitely a hike. Once at the top it is very cool to see all of the old headstones and the information posted for the Doc Holiday monument. Great option for a good hike that wont take up half of your day.

Quick, accessible hike. As Glenwoods (Garfield Countys) first official cemetery there is a lot of history expressed via signage and inferred from headstones. Its also well maintained.
