I was a 1st timer this year to Colby & was pleasantly surprised. Short & moderately easy hike.I recommend it for anyone, even for young children (be patient with them though).Theres no public parking stalls so you will need to park on the neighborhood street/s which is few. Other than that & no public restroom I might have given it 5 (gave 4 BUT actually I give it 3.5 stars)
Parking can be tricky but relatively easy to find. The trail had a hard incline if you are a beginner. You can take the right path when the trail forks if you want to so a short hike to see the view.Trail is clean but there is very little shade, make sure to bring a good hat and some water.
This is a short steep but mostly shaded trail. You park in a residential neighborhood and the trail ends at Glendora Mountain Road. Seems popular with people that live in the area and with horses. It is has great views of the City of Glendora but the trail is very short. Also, parking in a residential area is always tricky.
Easy to moderate trail. Trail goes up in elevation about 450 to 500 feet.
Quick trail. Deceivingly tough due to the uphill nature of the hike. Pretty views. Get there early before ppl crowd the area! Take the time to explore the two smaller paths on either direction. Yes, when you get to the end of the trail, that is indeed the end.
Toughness: 8/10 Length: 6/10This is a fantastic trail that is incredibly tough. Do not come here if your lungs and heart can’t work hard, because it took me almost no time before my chest was pounding. This is a desert trail with lots of shade at first but within a mile or so, you will lose all shade. If you keep going, it turns into strictly desert scrub. The path also winds its way around some roads but keeps going. From the maps, it looks like it continues going into the San Gabriel mountain range, so the length may be longer but the total trail is not more than a few miles.
Nice little walk. Just to bad some people have to mess up the landscape with graffiti.
Fun hike. Did the short path just up to GMT. Beatiful views!
Beautiful place. Great for kids. Some areas are steep but its a short hike. My 5 and 8yr old did just fine and loved it very much.
Nice trails. Tough enough for an adult but not to tough for a 5 and 7 year old, with some assistance.
Great trail for a moderate incline hiking trail
My kids loved it nice view Early bird gets the parking. Check out our YouTube channel The H Fam Bam.
This trail is interesting but is recommended only for strong knees! Otherwise, its definitely a bit steep. It looks to be well-maintained and clean. Has a couple picnic tables with nice cityscape views. I didnt make it very far up at all but Im guessing its a good place for a workout that feels semi-private & adventurous. Walking sticks might be a good idea. Note that there is no actual designated parking lot.
Love love love this trail! It’s a steep one that’ll definitely kick your tush a little bit but so amazingly worth it when you make it towards the top. It goes all the way up to Glendora mountain road. I like how there are a few different paths that cross so you can switch it up every time you go.
Great elevation of 800ft. Rough step selections of the trail in the upper portions have you believing your also done when you are just getting to the next hurdle. A hydration pack 2.0L is required to complete to entire trail and make it back down hydrated. Beautiful views of the city, mountain ranges and seeing othe mountain peaks. Wildlife consisted of lizards and vultures during my ascent. Be warned if your not in get health the upper portion of the trail is not ideal for you. The top of trail is an abandon Helipad.
Nice little trail. Low trafficked.
What an awesome hiking trail. Highly recommended. So beautiful, peaceful and the fragrance of the wilderness is breathtaking!
Beautiful short hike. I enjoy it & reccomend it.
Great little hike to stay in shape.

The hiking on the mountain is really interesting.

Great place to mt bike
Highly recommended, although it is quite steep in some areas
Quite a beautiful site
Personally worked on this trail for a year.its a great hike shady, and challenging.
Awesome workout or relaxing walk
The Eastern part is steep, the western part is flat. Cross over the creek several times. Small kid friendly
Fairly easy trail. Steep to start but flattens out
Very short and local trail. Good for beginners. Be careful though. There are local horse riders here so look out for droppings.
Short but good
Great short hike! Easy to get to!
Great for kids. A bit overgrown in some parts
Awsome trail. Must wear hiking shoes.
Good and quick hike with decent shade. Trail can be started at the top from GMR or at the base from a nearby neighborhood. Watch our for getting caught behind a fence if you try to go east from the base.
Good climb
Casual trail with some shade
Place was Assume
Easy trail, flat childrens forest at top on nice plateau with a picnic bench and GREAT views.
Very short, but somewhat difficult uphill hike. Bring your own food and you can dine while having an amazing view.
Great place
Moderate trail with beautiful view.
Great view of the city at night trail goes deep great for mountain bikes dirt path is uneven and full of rocks its a very nice roughing it path for hiking or biking
Amazing place to come hike its really well kept easy to walk or jog lots of tree coverage
Moderate trail with lots of great views of Glendora. Dog friendly too, which is always a plus. Only thing is youll have to park around the block, but the neighborhood is nice so its hardly a bother... which I guess means it isnt a thing at all, really.
This is a fun short hike
Yes, go ... skip, jump, walk and climb it’s good to feel nature...
It is a bit steep, but because of the short distance its doable. Me and the wife took our 4 year old daughter and it was easy. Be careful on the way back down, the little one would slip on the rocks and get scared but she scares easy. Recommend to burn a hour or so.
Very steep from Lorain, but evens out to a view of the city.
Fun family hike for small children that are active
Its an easy trail. Beautiful view when you get to the top.
Great beautiful hike totally recommended
One of the best hikes Ive ever done. Its steep and not a lot of people on the trail. Great workout.
Lots of dry grass right now
Great small hike! Mostly shaded and not real steep. I would say perfect beginner hiking trail.
Great Burgers and Chicken sandwhich. Sweet Potato fries are delicious. They serve beer and wine too.
Not easy, semi steep hike. Easy because its short, maybe. Beautiful views!
The best views. So nice to enjoy nature!
Best place to go hiking. And have a nice view of Glendora
Quick and easy hike! But definitely need bug stray before the hike because of the mosquitoes
Good work out .
Terrain is an easy to moderate walk. Accessing the trail off the edge of the city of Glendora can be easy enough, howevrer, finding a curbside spot to park can be a challenge.
Awesome quick workout with nice view.
Great little midweek conditioning hike with nice views and not a ton of people.
One of my favorite hiking spots
Quick mile and half hike for some exercise.
Hiking with my boys
They get anal about camping. As a combat Veteran, I resent this practice. A lot of homeless vets need a place to live.
Very much good trail hiking
The Habit Burger Grill.
Really enjoyed this trail, wish it was longer.
Everyone should hike here
Very good trail
Great trail a little short
Great local trail!
