Found this little place tucked away on the way back to Boston from Vermont. Lovely and quiet with short hikes, though was a shame you couldnt get to the nearby lake on the trail.

The trails are clearly labeled. Easy trail. Clean. Perfect for family nature walks. We did not see any animals but it was most likely because of the time of year. We will definitely return when spring comes around

Got to the site late afternoon. Trying out our new pedometers. Neither one of us got them working. Need a tech savey young person. But totally enjoyed the walk. The woodsy area is a little rough if your not good on your feet. Trails are well marked.Came across an awesome beaver dam and had to cross a brook. Never saw one so wide. And they are felling really big trees. You just have to go see it. If not a member of Audubon or not a resident of Gardner be prepared to leave a fee. Well worth the walk.

Quiet and secluded trails that are well made maintained. The hike was just the right size for our 10 and 4 year old. Great way to spend a Sunday.

Peaceful 30 minute walk. I brought my 10 yrold he enjoyed it. We walked by a beaver dam saw some frogs. The open field has many flowers so there are a lot of bees and other insects. Most of the moosehead trail is lined with poison ivy. If you bring children here remind them not to pick at the plants or bother the wildlife.
