One of the most beautiful places in Utah! If you have never been to Bear Lake, you are missing out big time! The water is warm and welcoming, and fun to play in. Garden City has some nice amenities that make this area a nice mix between getting away, but not too far away from essentials i.e. grocery stores, restaurants, etc.
The lake is a beautiful blue color. The beach on the south side is sandy and smooth and you can easily walk out quite far. If you get up early to go out on the lake it is perfect for paddle boarding. You might see cowboys herding sheep up the road on the west side of the lake. Kids will probably want to rent some time to jump on the trampoline pad not far off the shore. At night, a visit to the beach will give you a great view of the moon rising over the east mountains. The night we were there Mars was aligned over the moon, stunning. You dont need much to have fun just some drinks, snacks, sun block, and something to float on. The campground was clean and so were the showers and bathrooms. The only complaint I have is that they only allow one vehicle per site and you cant check in early without a $20 fee, but you can park an extra vehicle at the rest stop not far down the road.
Bear Lake all around is beautiful, but The Rendezvous Beach is awesome. It is an oasis in the middle of the desert. The water is so blue and the clear sand makes me feel like home (Im from Brazil). However, if you want to avoid the crowd, just drive a little bit farther north and camp at the South Eden Campgrounds. They have a little beach area that is perfect, and you get to enter the Rendezvous area without paying again for parking. This is the closest thing you get to a nice beach in Utah.
Amazingly beautiful area! Lots to do on the beach and off. Plenty of shops and food places that have shakes, and the raspberry ones are actually very good! You can rent water trampolines and jet skis, and the mountains are gorgeous. The lake is super blue and clear. Love it!
Great family fun! Clean and safe. Fishing, hiking and boating! Dont forget the wintertime lots of snowmobiling! Amazing sights and beautiful scenery!
Fun lake. The water is a bit cold, but we came late in the season. Make sure to get a raspberry shake from La Beaus or Zips in Garden City. If you like to ride electric bikes, checkout Fireflys. We had a blast at Bear Lake.
If you havent been to Bear Lake then I definitely recommend you make a trip. The water is crystal clear and beautiful. The lake is big enough that you can get away from the traffic if you like. The beaches at the state park do get very busy so I do recommend getting there early in the morning. They do have rental place for water toys and a small restaurant for quick bites.
The campground at Rendesvous Beach is very nice. Each site is very spacious. However, the beach and public picnic areas were very littered with garbage and dog poop. Dogs are not allowed at the beach or picnic areas, so I was surprised by this. Water level was low at the lake which I assumed is due to this time of year. Very reasonable rate for the ammenities.
One of my favorite places in the world! We come here at least once a year. The water is so pretty, and the lake is big, going into Idaho as well so even when its crowded, you still have a lot of space to yourself. Boating is the best here, at the marina in Garden City, you can even rent tubes and jet skis. Theres also a rental place off to the side of the marina on the beach where you can rent paddle boards.
This was our first time at Bear Lake State Park. The lake is huge! The weather was really nice around 90s.The water looks really clean and clear like the ocean. The water is a little chilly, but everyone had fun!!
At first sight, you would almost swear you were looking at a chunk of Caribbean beach, that was somehow transported to a cozy little quiet town in Utah. The drive is absolutely magestic, so even if you never get into the water, its still a perfect place to visit. The beaches are a shimmering white, and the water is so clear, it looks like a mirror on the still areas, and perfectly reflects the color of the sky everywhere else. This is definitely a good place for kids, since the beach has such shallow water, but the lake itself is deep enough for any boat.Cant wait to return!
Fun, water was nice its good to get there around 8 am to find a good spot.
Be mindful of the strange seminal fluid that floats between the bank and about five feet out. Its nasty and gross. The lake is revolting against the sheer mass of humanity that crashes its sandy and rocky shores. Dont put your head under the water at the bank or you may become a host for a terrifying creature... Think about the movie Alien.
Beautiful - dont usually get to see water so blue! Had a great time kayaking, it was a little windy at times
We love going out here and enjoying the lake. Its huge and so many places to park and set up your canopy and chairs. Its ok to cook there too and they even have rentals near by. Now the bathrooms were horrible but its what youd expect on a busy Saturday.Remember if youre renting a boat or Jet skis, the add ons will sky rocket your bill! We didnt expect it but by the end of the day it totaled over$1200.00. So please be careful and ask question about pricing. Wish we did.All in all we will continue to go back but no more rentals for this family.
Love bear lake! The state park is super clean, the boat ramp can get a bit crowded, but thats normal. Ive not been able to fish yet, just too busy with other water sports. Cool experience, it got super windy and we launched in Utah, had to put the boat back on the trailer in Idaho. The Idaho dudes let us in for free since we just needed to pick up the boat. Definitely recommended, especially during the week when its not too busy
Great place for adventure, made my way from Southern California to Utah, then w my cousins drive all the way to Bear Lake, Idaho. Amazing place for jet skiing, boating, awesome place
Amazing and loving to see water so blue
This place is stunning and there is so much fun stuff to do!
Cooler temperatures than the valley. Affordable boat (etc.) rentals. Huge lake. Deep and cool water. Beautiful.
Excellent for a winter visit with really interesting ice piles on the shores of the lake and tons of deer. Not recommended for camping but definitely awesome for sightseeing. When the lake freezes over then starts to thaw out the ice breaks up into thin sheets that look like glass pieces. Wave and wind action then pile these pieces up on the shore line into really interesting piles. Super cool. Also fun is to throw rocks out on to the ice because it makes this really cool sound and it can end up sliding way far.
The best place to visit. The water is chilly as expected but its beautiful and clear water. If you are looking for a beach, the Idaho side is cheaper ($5 for day use) and had more beach. Get there early for a decent spot. Best raspberry shakes at the local shops. I had several.
I love this lake great time with the family
Nice place, busy in the summer months but they do as pretty good job moving things along.
Nice beach. Plenty of restrooms. Lots of picnic tables. This is a very busy beach! Go early! We did and got a nice spot. Place to rent water toys is also there. Looked like a place to get lunch also but they were still closed.
Beautiful lake, well kept facilities, and lots of parking. The only disappointment was the lack of the rumored swim bears of bear lake. We managed without the bears, and always love this lake. Extremely beautiful, and clear and clean marina. Make sure to check the weather report. We have found the best experience is earlier and later in the day, to avoid choppiness. We have logged about 19 feet in the Marina. Very wife launch ramp, but you have to back in rather far as the slope is very gradual.
Beautiful water, not polluted, small crowds Mon - Thurs!
Great scenery. Friendly people. Lots to do
Cool, refreshing, mineral-rich water. Lush, green beaches. Plenty of private books for pitching a canopy or tent. Glorious place to enjoy the sun on a hot summer day.
Beautiful spot with lots of space between camping lots, each one has a small structure with a table so you dont have to have everything in the grass. Arrive here when theres still daylight though, its hard to find your spot to begin with as there arent many signs.
Bear Lake State Park is awesome. They offer a lot. Great public asset.
Great place to bring you family.
Its Utahs ocean. Only 2 hours away from Salt Lake, the beach and water are great in August! We come every year with a group and love it! Water skis are fun with some big waves. The wind usually picks up about 2pm and stops around 7pm.
A good amount of space on the South Utah side. Great to setup a canopy for a few hours.
The place has one of the most beautiful and colorful sunsets! The reflections in the water makes it even more vibrant than it already is.
Awesome way to spend the day. Beaches in the parks dont allow dogs but areas along the road provide areas for families with animals.
Beautiful and fun place to spend the weekend camping. I suggest East Shore for less crowds, but its not as sandy. Dont leave without getting a raspberry shake!
We take the kids to bear lake at least once a year, its a must, its so much fun.
What a big let down. Everyone talked so highly of the white sand beaches and blue water. We were here for 3 days the water is blue but there are no white sand beaches. Rock beaches which is typical for mountain lakes. Just wish I hadnt got my hopes up for white sand
Beautiful place....I grew up in the Caribbean and I can attest this lake cones real close to the real deal....it might be better since you can drive to the beach, real close.
Those is by far the best campground at Bear Lake. Its not cheap, but its worth every penny. Loss of fun things to do. Great pool and showers. Loss of Beaufort shade trees. You can play miniature golf, rent bikes or bicycle carts that seat up to 6. They have a great grocery store and even an Ace Hardware store. They have RV does with a private hot tub. This is the place to stay!!
Rainbow Cove has a great boat ramp, however the docks are metal, stationary, do not float and can be dangerous especially when the water level goes down. I had to sit on the dock to get on the boat.
Southern Eastern Idaho and North East Utah has this amazing lake joing the too States. Do your self a favor and visit this Bear Lake. All I can say is Wow.
Lovely place to spend summer in. Water is very clean and clear, sands r soft and with various stones around. Feel like on a beach. End of July is quite cold already in the water. Me personally couldnt get in, while kids enjoy staying in the water all the afternoon.
Great place to visit, beautiful views of the lake, many water activities and great food.
Love Bear Lake. $15 a car for the day with up to 8 people or $25 for 2days. $3 to walk in. Such a fun family time. They have rentals right there for paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis.
I am here for Scout camp. Bear Lake is beautiful so many activities to do even if your not at Camp.
Amazing lake! Awesome atmosphere! Friendly people
It is a beautiful lake but people have trashed it. Rude campers blasting loud music when we were there. We were going to stay 2 days but left after one.
Camp Hosts were great, very friendly. We stayed by big creek lots of shade and a active creak with wildlife. The spots by the creek are a little difficult to get into without scratching your rig if its a larger one.
Just Beautiful. Im coming back at the end of the month.
Bear lake is a fresh water lake situated in Utah-Idaho border. The view is spectacular. This is a beautiful lake ideal for boating, water skiing, swimming, sailing, fishing and famous raspberry shakes.Strongly recommended to stop by, and see this breathtaking Bear Lake.
A fun place. Definitely my favorite
We drove there as a car club, the Fox Body Addicts. It was a very beautiful area.
Beautiful. Lake is cold but still good to swim in.
Enjoyed rendezvous beach very much. The campground host was somewhat abrasive and rode around in his golf cart with a dog barking several times a day
Beautiful lake. Plenty of variety of camping options.
Bear Lake is amazing, and is a must go every summer. I literally drive from salt lake to bear lake back and fourth because it’s so beautiful. And clean the boat rentals are expensive. But other then that beautiful place definitely going next year.
The best lake in Utah.
Love Bear Lake. Surprisingly the water is fairly warm. It feels great to swim in even at night. The most fun you can have on the lake is with a jet ski. Sadly directly around the lake it is pretty bare, there are nicer looking lakes in Utah.
Theres a park nearby and walking down the board walk is pretty exciting but watch out for water snakes. The beaches are hit and miss depending where you go but its all pretty coarse sand. the water was pretty warm in late July. Do your shopping before you get there though because the local grocery stores are insanely expensive.
It was peaceful and fun. The water was cold, but it was tubing on the lake.
A very nice and quiet place to spend a family day enjoying a sunny day.
It was a beautiful place, it was very clean. Would recommend coming here!
We love this place, cant wait to come back!
Beautiful lake, usually an amazing sunset and always a good time.
There are a lot of reasteraunts to choose from. Plenty of places to rent boats wave runners and side by side. They have a cave tour in minatonka cave. Hot springs on the north east of the lake. Great place to visit
Awesome lake. As blue as the Caribbean!
Such incredible views, and a calm lake to go tubing and wakeboarding on!!
Marina and showers. Showers are clean and hot. Beach is small and can get crowded. The bottom has more silt on the north side which can get stirred up at the beach. My favorite beaches are south past Pickleville before the rest stop. It is the only Marina on this side so it can get busy. But it does have 5 wide lanes. Slips may be available for rent but reserve early. Gas is available. Note towables must be stowed before entering Marina.
I enjoyed rendezvous beach better because there are less rocks on the shore. We still had fun on the trampoline and riding a canoe in the lake.
Bear Lake is one of my favorite spots for a quick getaway, scout camps and just some good old fun water sports. Stop and get raspberry shake while your up there.
Very fun place to come swim, rent jet skies, and boats
Beautiful place. Sandy Beach with a lot of tables to use, plenty of space to set up tents and play. You can rent kayaks, wave runners, boats and water trampolines. Even the bathrooms there are pretty nice.
Great place, we enjoy camping here every year!!
We visited on our way from SLC to yellowstone. Well the place was beautiful for sure but if you are in a hurry to reach Yellowstone, I wouldnt suggest it as this route would be time consuming. Apart from that, the lake is beautiful and a good place to spend some time.
I was only on the lake for a short time. I would say that the water seemed to irritate my skin a little more then other water but it is for sure a beautiful lake
Great place to camp right by the lake. All sites have power and water to them. RV dump on site. There is beach to set up sun shades right there as well. Prices are comparable to other parks. Each site has gravel base, a fire ring, and a table. If you want shade, pick spots in the upper loop. Outhouses available, ADA sites available as well. There are two group sites that have large grassy area and a pavilion with tables. There is also a day area available that has a pavilion with multiple tables. Sites book up quick. Usually the first day you can get online and reserve spots, they are gone. Great place to enjoy the lake and have some fun.
NiceLots of people had the same idea!
We stayed in the camping cabin at the Bear Lake State park during Raspberry Days 2017. Pro: bathrooms clean and close by. Close to the lake. The biggest problem was that the beds seem to be about 20 years old!!. You can feel the springs and when two people got into the double bed you collapsed into the middle. No support! Worst nights sleep ever! We are not big people!! I have slept in better beds in Mexico. When I pay hotel prices for a cabin I expect hotel quality beds!!! We talked to the people in the next cabin and they were very unhappy also. Will not go back again until they replace the mattresses!!
The most amazing Lake a bit cold but u will love it.
Reminds me of Lake Tahoe but not as congested.
Nice place to get a day by the lake, when you feel landlocked. There is a small fee yo park. But we can take coolers, chairs, water toys and more. They have rentals, jet skis, water trampolines, boats and more. The entire family had a blast. There are picnic tables and areas to grill. But get there early if you dont have your own and want theirs.
Great day at bear lake
Beautiful blue water and nice mountains. very crowded during holidays, plan in advance if you want to rent stuff for fun.
Very beautiful and fun place to go, make sure you get a raspberry shake at Zipz.
Family 1st time there would go again
We love coming here. The fact that you can wade out fairly far is magical. The cute town close by has amazing Raspberry shakes as well!
Fun times, water was freezing at first! Campground clean.
Great place to take off for a night sail
Great variety for a tiny little grocery store in a tiny little town. The prices are not too high but, if youre looking for a bargain better stop in Logan. Love how convenient it is. Watch the hours though, youre in a small town and things close early.
