Small preserve withinn a neighborhood, but I saw a lot of biodiversity while there. Id recommend it if you like birdwatching.

Nice preserve, about a mile trail through the trees and over the marsh.

Very nice area and located in a nice neighborhood. I went to try to find Spoonbills birds but didnt find any. You can walk all the trails which doesnt take to long. Theres also a little gazebo by a pond. Stay on the trail as there are signs saying theres snakes and alligators. I didnt see either. This place is free

Great place to spot birds. Well maintained with interpretive signs

A very well kept, short walk around a marshy area. Lots of local birds, migrating birds and ducks. Some cotton mouths on property so watch your step. Pathways range from boardwalk, concrete to grassy. The local club does an excellent job maintaining the property. Not a great place for kids unless they remain quiet as most of the area is designated a quiet zone.

In the middle of a neighborhood, but a very nice place with great photo ops.

Outstanding Nature Preserve, well maintained, great selection of birds, espicially during migration. Last vist 31 different species total, 9 differnt Warblers.

Who knew this was here. It is amazing and right in the middle of the island. And it’s free and open to the public.

Went there to bird and was not disappointed! Different species of birds everywhere and people to help you find them. Beautiful ponds, trees, blooming shrubs and quiet..except for an occaisional gull squawk. But hey! Youre on the coast! Theyre having fun, too!

Awesome set of trails through the wetlands. Perfect little stop on the way through Galveston. Keep in mind its fairly small, but very beautiful and obviously a lot of work has gone into it.

Lots of mosquitos, not many birds. We saw was a nutria with her two babies. Too cute!

We went to bird and were able to find around 25+ species. Most of what we saw were in the water and not through the trail in the trees. We managed to see a couple birds in there with a bit of effort and glipses of movement allowing us to try tracking them long enough to identify them. It was a lovely trail with a breeze that felt amazing on a warm day in the beginning of April.We look forward to visiting it again sometime.

Nature at it’s finest.

I have to say, after coming here for quite some time, they have truly developed the preserve into a diabolical place for bird watching.The entrances and parking seem ample as there are 3 of them. The rules are posted clearly, and the actual set ups for bird watching are perfectly crafted.They have two drips, a wading depth pond with a well maintained boardwalk, and beautiful Gazebo. The plants are tuned for particular bird species and expertly places feeding locations are every where.I was there for two hours, post-spring fallout and we managed to record over 40 species. We hear maybe 50!The mosquitos are a plenty, so don’t forget to treat beforehand, don’t bring snacks or drinks, don’t be loud, and be helpful!Everything from beginners to experts are there so it is highly educational and very fun.The star of the show was the Hooded Warbler as of 4-20-2018, fearless and good for photographing if you don’t have a camera .

A natural area saved from development tucked away in middle of nice neighborhood. Well maintained with paved walkways. Nice place to visit, worth taking time to walk through.

This place is best visited late March through May. A great hotspot for migratory birds.

Superb little spot for migrants

Very nice for a small piece of wetlands. Unfortunately, it is surrounded by houses which take away from the feeling of enjoying a nature preservatory.

Good birding spot. Several species of water fowl and passerina. Windy on day of visit, so species count probably better at other times.

Very nice area with a lot of ducks and birds and other interesting species. Will be even better in the next weeks with the spring migration of birds

This is a little known spot, but great to see a slice of local nature. If you want to see a few coastal birds or learn some history of the land, or just walk through nature on a nice path, stop by here!

It was nice..its hidden away so most dont know about it!

Manicured and concrete trails wander thru ponds, woods, marsh, grass and meadow areas giving a variety of birds wonderful habitat options. There is a small gazebo to watch ducks, and a drop station in the woods to attract birds.

Absolutley wonderful spot for bird watching during Spring/Fall migration!!! There are 3 drip ponds and 5-6 regulars in the neighborhood too. Small but very productive.

Peaceful spot to enjoy nature..Galveston Island needs more like this..all communities could learn by visiting this tiny preserve..wonderful
