Our son plays in a travel team and we are very happy with his development. The coaches are amazing and he made a lot if friends. We tried other clubs in the area but here is where he made the most progress and he got 1:1 attention from his coaches. We like that the club focuses on player development and is not only focused on winning (which comes naturally because of the quality of training).

As a player on the team, I believe that the team (s) are very positive about everything. From my perspective, my coach is super nice, but also has very good soccer experience, which is good for their coaching. My teammates are also all very nice, and social. When I was new to this team, everyone greeted me with positivity.

Very inconsistent coaching. It’s great if you get a good coach, but odds are you won’t. Potomac does a very poor job of screening, hiring or training coaches. Most coaches we had were not high quality. The teams are also not supported by a strong club philosophy, so training methods are also very inconsistent. As a whole the club does not promote strong technical development of its players, which is critical for young players who want to play high school in this area. My kid was well behind when we finally switched clubs. We usually had really nice fields to practice on, but that may have been due to some parents making it happen, but the club did poney up for it. That said, Potomac fees are not more then any other travel program.

A wonderful youth soccer organization. I was very proud to have my daughter play for this club and I continue to be a professional volunteer even though she is 8 years away from her club soccer days.
