THE CLEANEST facility, hands down, of anywhere I’ve taught! Staff is friendly, very helpful and accommodating. There’s a great variety of equipment to work with and not overcrowded. Classes are fun and growing!
The splash pad is great for little kids. $6.00 each is reasonable. They have life jackets for the little kids. Bigger pool for the bigger kids. Depending on the kid, by 13 or so I guess the place is a little childish except for the big slides. The big pool is 4 foot max at the big slides but the rest is 2 or 3 foot. Concession stand has mostly candy, icecream and chips, no real food. You can not bring outside food in but you can bring waters. No Reentry. Eat before you go. We absolutely loved it. Call for hours, right now its only open on the weekends. Website was misleading on hours.
Awesome place to ake the kiddos. The lifeguard all being high schoolers dont understand kiddos well and could have a bit more grace and understanding.
This is so much fun for the for the family! There is a small water slide for small children & two big water slides for bigger children and adults. There are several other water activities for the children to do.
Close enough for a large area of folks. Prices arent bad & plenty of fun for kids & adults. Enough space that it doesnt feel crowded.
Had a nice time with my grandkids a good place to take family
Super fun, clean, and safe place for families. Plenty of lifeguard on staff. Love it!
Lap pools and fitness center are great.
Very clean and the staff are amazing!
Great outdoor section. The indoor heated pool is great. However the Olympic pool is TOO cold all year long. The staff are very helpful.
It was a great place for a swim meet
Wowzers amazing
Awesome aqua aerobics
Dont like the outdoors new hours seems crazy to not open til lunch. Then someone came and sit in our chairs so wasnt following the new rules and staying 6 ft unless in your family group
We love Francis meadows after park!! The admission and the food here is very inexpensive. The water park has a small area with a slide for little kids, a pool with a small water channel and 2 big water slides for kids. We love this water park and will definately return again next summer.
My wife and I swim for exercise 2-3 days a week at Francis Meadows. Always clean and well run.
Clean, great staff, and fun for all ages!
What an amazing facility. Have enjoyed it for year. But recently joined as a member to start taking workout classes and using the gym. The setting in the gym with the beautiful window wall is more like a spa. Excellent workout equipment. Classes we have been taking have had very good instructors. So very happy to be back. Oh and ofcourse the multiple pools are a big plus.
Open year round. Great place to take my grandsons
Im so disappointed! Had planned to join for the water aerobics, which was great (warm water, good instruction), but the ladies locker room is intolerable. There are no private changing rooms, so some of the women use the toilet stalls to change. (Yuck, plus then you cant use those stalls for their intended purpose after being in the pool for 44 min to an hour). :/The shower curtains have all been cut too narrow, I guess so they could save money, but there is no privacy there either because they dont close all the way.I can only imagine what its like when the kids are out of school and running around while all the senior women are trying to get dressed. No thanks...Whoever designed this beautiful swimming facility really blew it where the womens locker room is concerned. :(If you are going to the gym and going home from there to shower and change, it would be ok, but I dont live close enough to do that.
We loved this place. Our daughter had a blast and we got to access the indoor pools as well.
Excellent facility. Has an indoor lap pool and outdoor water park for the kids, as well as a heated exercise pool. Locker rooms with showers, and an exercise area with gym equipment. They offer daily and annual rates.
The kids really like the water park and slides, but the front desk staff is very unfriendly to the point of being a little rude! Also I just had surgery and my kids had been bugging me to go so I finally got the energy to drive there and we got there at 7:00 they took someone in-front of me and only had one pay area open, so instead of them getting 45 min they got about 25 and we will have to pay over $12. It’s buy one get one free after 6pm which is good but the staff was so rude I could hardly enjoy those 25 min of watching my children play. Also, I don’t think you should be charged if you’re not getting in the water!
Great place for kids.
Wonderful rec center. Pools are well maintained and kept at good temps. Lifeguard break for 10 minutes every hour is stupid, proper lifeguard rotation removes the need for such absurdity.
Its fun
Great place. Clean. Friendly staff! Nephew had a birthday party in one of the rooms and it was perfect for it with access to indoor pool and outdoor splash zone. The room was clean and organized. A/C worked great inside. Perfect spot for a summer get together!
Cannot bring your own drinks.
I love that they have 2 pools to choose from, and that offer classes I personally need.
Very clean Center offering a variety of classes thru out the year!
Family fun. Kids love the water park. Great experience with swim lessons for the kids.
I have only visited the outdoor water attractions and have no experience with the indoor pools or classes, but the outside area is a great place for kids of all ages to get wet! Beware of the direct sun exposure, though. There is no shade unless you can get under an umbrella or shelter. I applied sport grade waterproof spf 50 2x in the 2 hours we were there on our most recent visit and still was burned on my shoulders a little, and Im not fair-skinned.Dont be alarmed if the parking lot is full, we were there when only about twenty spots were left on the very edge of the lot and it still was not overcrowded once we got in.They need to designate more handicap parking spaces; they were all full and we couldnt park anywhere near the building. There are a few odd rules; they clearly want to force you to purchase their concessions. No re-entry without paying admission again. No outside food or drink. They offer hotdogs, burgers, grilled cheese, and chips, etc. They wont take bills larger than a twenty!! But they do take MC and Visa, and checks at the entry gate. We ate at Chick-Fil-A before going in.Children under 3 have to wear a swim diaper AND plastic pants over that, which they will sell to you if you need them. There are LOTS of life guards, and every hour you have to get out of the water for a safety check or something, which is a great time to re-apply sunscreen. If you found this review helpful, please give it a thumbs up! Thanks!
Good facility but needs more seating
Its a great place for the kids. And we had fun. Unfortunately nothing but dives and jumps off the spring board. They do have very cheap food thats actually good. A slaw burger combo with chips and a Powerade was five bucks. And it was actually pretty good.
Just our first visit for swim lessons so I may have to revise this later. The facilities were clean and the personnel pleasant. The only issue we had was the family locker rooms werent unlocked for parent-toddler/baby swim lesson time. Having the locker rooms available would have helped a lot since there isnt a lot of space, particularly for managing changing toddlers or babies in and out of swimwear, in the regular locker rooms. The heated pool, where the lesson was held, was also loud and distracting. There was a competitive swim team practice being held in one half and at least for my LO it was very distracting and audibly overwhelming for her first swim lesson.
Ive been going to this water park to swim ever since I was young. But yesterday was probably the worst experience Ive had. The life guard in the indoor pool was very rude and mean to my friends. My friends were swimming in the lanes and we didnt know we couldnt. So when we were done racing, the life guard said hey and we looked over and he said do yall know how to read or not. He said that those lanes were closed. We didnt know. Being nice we said sorry, then we left. But when the guy said that the girl lifeguard gen was talking to smiled at him gave him a high five and said good job........ really dont want to pay money to go and get treated like that.
Clean, beautiful facility. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. Cant wait to go back
Lifeguards were cool especially the slightly Hispanic looking one
Good place for kids, and its very clean. Staff are rule nazis, kids are allowed to swim exclusively in swim trunks, no basketball shorts. There is absolutely no re entry, or you have to PAY AGAIN. Make sure youre completely prepared or you can pay twice. I wont be coming back.
A great place to spend a hot summer afternoon! Its a great mini water park...a water park not too expensive or too big to bring the kids. With this being a public water park, if it gets too hot, you can always go inside for a dip in the indoor pools. The only thing that did bother me was the lack of inconsistency between the different lifeguards. They did change regularly so that helped.
Had an awesome time. Really nice facility!
The waterpark is always clean and well maintained. My kids love the water slides and the splash area for toddlers. We go a few times during the summer times and spend a couple hrs there. They do have a full guard staff on duty as well.
Very nice facility, Very Clean and Staff is friendly.
I love this place. The perfect place for water classes, swim laps, and working out. Less than half mile from my house.
It has good parking. The lifeguards and staff are very nice and friendly. Me and my mom went to the water park a lot. It was very fun. It has a good water park and 2 other pools that are very good. It is very cheap. You can get in for 6 dollars and you can use the water park and use both of the other pools. We will probably go back in the summer.
Great aquatic Center 2 indoor pools open year round you can find the schedule online
We attended a private birthday party in the splash and pool area. We arrived at 6:25 and the older woman attending the desk told us plainly to sit, we could not get in until 6:30. She provided no explanation and was extremely rude and short with her response. Despite her poor customer service, the party was great and our children had a fantastic time. It definitely made me second guess whether Id ever want to visit the facility or recommend it to friends.
Best place too visit no matter if your coming too work out or just enjoy time with your family.
This was our first time here. It was excellent. The 6 year old enjoyed the tall water slides as well as the kids section. I went worried that I would be constantly on alert and worried about my niece and nephew, but there were many lifeguards doing an excellent job. I enjoyed the day as much as the kids!
I’m a cancer patient with a special needs child who became homeless because of the cancer. My physical therapist suggested swimming to help with my therapy. I didn’t have the $6 on me, I thought it was $2. The lady at the front desk was very rude to me. I noticed that she was letting several other guest in for free. Finally a nice lady paid the other $4.I told one of the free guest that they were very lucky to get in for free. She replied that I could get in for free too if I had the right skin color! Then laughed at me. This is how this place is run.
I have a membership here and I love it. The pool is great, the gym has a lot of equipment and its always clean and well organized. All the people that teach classes are insanely kind and really make an effort to get to know you personally. Their yoga classes are so relaxing and fun, and they keep it SPOTLESS. this is the best place in gainesville to go to to swim or workout or drop in for a yoga class
It is the best way to cool off and get along .
Im going to join this place good workout for my
Beautiful place
Friendly staff, nice facility. Daughter swims for the team here. Highly recommend.
This isnt exactly a place I can take my 5 month old. I tried to swim in a calmer part of the pool and was told people pay less money to swim in that lane so I had to get out. I was told I couldnt put her float in the water. I was expected to hold her in an over crowded pool full of rambunctious older children jumping off the diving board with a life guard constantly blowing the whistle in our ears. I was given a refund on request however.
Lots of Fun but..,,water park is a great affordable place to spend a hot summer afternoon with the kids. They had a wonderful time swimming, playing and doing what they do in water. Would rate a 5 but unfortunately the sign at the entrance to the big slides is wrong and if it measures you at 42 inches according to the lifeguard at the top it is 2 inches short of his ruler which means the smallest in our party could not slide which resulted in a sad kid walking back down the stairs. FMAC kindly fix your height sign. This simple fix could go far in giving kids so close to 42 inches a 5 star afternoon
I wish that I could give it more stars but I just cant...I have a two year old daughter and we played in the outdoor pools for a bit she is very fair skin (just like her mother) so I wanted to take her to the indoor pool to swim. We go in and find that the indoor pool is closed ALL summer and ALL DAY for swimming lessons. That left her no option for her to swim. So we return outside to play and we were told that we had to go back inside because it was raining (not storming). They need to let people know when they buy tickets at the desk that the indoor pool will be closed and if we still would like to purchase tickets. We were only there for 45 minutes and paid full price and no refunds even for rain. My child left crying because she did not understand why we could not be in the pool. I did not see a reason why we could not be in the pool either it was just RAIN for crying out loud! Im going to try the Cumming Aquatic Center next time. Yes I would rather drive a longer distance if it means that my child can swim longer and have more fun. This was a real DISAPPOINTMENT!!!
We enjoyed our toddler swim class this year!
Very Nice .. Good People Great place to enjoy a quality Park N Rec Center
Clean and professionally run. Easily the better choice between there and that particular locations YMCA...
Its a great place to have fun
Ive been going to Frances Meadows for years . I enjoy the competition pool for lap swimming. But, today was the worst swimming experience Ive ever had. The life guards were overwhelmed with kids that they basically let the kids have free access to the lanes reserved for lap swimming. I hit a child while swimming when the child swam across my lane. Thank God we werent hurt. The lifeguards had no idea that happened. I complained to management about it. I hope Frances Meadows will do a better job at keeping swimmers safe.
Beautifully and wonderfully made. No complaints at this time. Its a terrific place to have a memory filled experience with your loved ones. Especially the younger ones but the veterans also have a blast.
So much fun. just need to work on the kids running the food area. customer service was none. very bad..
Nice pool, spacious locker rooms, not overly crowded
Perfect place for all ages
Always a pleasure. I love how the lifeguards keep the guests in line. This makes for excellent safety! Great Job!
Great place to bring kids but, kids are very rambunctious pushing screaming for no reason lifeguardsact like woke up on wrong side of bed.
Pretty fun place for Gainesville. Dont bring cash if you have a family of more than 5. large bills are not welcome.
AWESOME!!! Great equipment and wasnt crowded.
Took 2 granddaughters there they had a ball. But I think the 1 day price is to high. They charged me and I never got out of my blue jeans. I was only there to take care of my grandchildren.
It is very nice place for family outing nice indoor pool and great outdide water park for family was very impressed
This is one of the best aquatic facilities I have ever seen. I would recommend this place to any wanting to cool off during the summer and not break the bank.
I took my 2 girls & niece there last week with my sister and we loved it. Thought it was a little strange everyone had to get out of the water at 12pm for 10 minutes, but the joy on the girls faces playing in the water was well worth it!
Great place to unwind and swim, in the indoor pool. They have everything you need with welcoming staff!
Did the zumba class. Great workout & lots of fun.
Strange rules not seen at other water parks. My toddler was required to have a swim diaper AND plastic pants AND swimming trunks (to be fair, the website also says this) but I had to buy the plastic pants from them because I didnt own any. Ive never heard that from any other park. There is NO in and out privileges, dont ask. When I asked if there are plans to develop a stamp or other system, the front desk lady said, No, this isnt Disney World. No food is allowed in, which would be OK if you had freedom to return to your car. You are forced to use their concession stand if you spend any length of time there. Once inside, everyone was forced out of the water for a safety break. Im all for safety, but it seemed strange. When we asked about it, the manager said its so kids in the water arent overwhelmed. What?!? That doesnt make sense. Bathrooms were dirty and out of toilet paper. In conclusion, its evident that government run facilities have zero effort on customer service.
The water park is amazingly good for kids, its clean well kept up. The life guards, were very nice, well mannered. The concession stand, the food was good, just the cooks, cashier had a bad bad attitude, not friendly at all.
A wonderful place to take your grandchildren & easy to keep up with the younger ones. Several life guards on duty.
Clean beautiful facility. If you have a child on the swim team, the parents get a discount to the gym. Great facility and friendly staff!
My family loves this place. From 4 to 74 in age. We have a family pass for all functions and access to the entire facility. Worth the money for sure
Fun
Soggy doggy was so much fun! The staff was attentive and seemed to be enjoying themselves also.
Great use of public tax dollars! This is a large, well-maintained facility with a great outdoor pool with multiple water features. Inside, there are two competition-sized pools. Always clean and a great, helpful staff
I am very happen with the location and the classes both water and land so much to do I havent tried it all but woing on it good membership price as well
Coming here with grandkids for 8 years on several visits durning summer. They love it.never been disappointed with visits.price is reasonable for fun they have.
Always have a great time here..been bringing my daughter since she was little
Because it is clean and a family place. The staff was awesome. The atmosphere was peaceful and beautiful. Will definitely be going back.
Fun for kids! I think they should put in a outdoor Olympic size swimming pool. Indoor pool is always cold, then there is no sun..the heated pool is small and crowded. Really miss the Green Street Pool.
Great place for the family. Indoor pools and a heated pool with a large water park outside for all ages...
