The team at hi-tech spent hours today helping me purchase, setup, and shoot my first compound bow. Super friendly and knowledgeable. The indoor range to test out my new equipment was great. I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Get there early - its a popular shop.
Super awesome place. We were able to get in, get our bow restrung, and get in for lessons all in the same afternoon. Went to get food while they serviced the bow then stayed for the lesson. Everyone was very helpful, too notch customer service. We will be back!
I dont recommend you do this, but i arrived with my son on the wrong day for our lesson. They accommodated us with a lesson anyway.Great job and thank you for the excellent service!
There is nowhere in LA County that has a pro shop.I actually been to three in Orange County and a dozen throughout two countries. They all have been a little different. High tech has tons of combined experience and a fairly wide selection of all archery related equipment. They are a little ruff around the edges yet I see that to some extent in dam near every gun store, range or archery pro shop. I am guessing it comes from seeing people do dangerous actions on a regular basis. My belief is these type of shops do not sell ice cream and some self education should be done prior to a visit. There is danger involved with bows and there is little room for errors. The staff at high-tech make mistakes also and are quick to fix or apologize. I think most people understand when dealing with weapons a certain level of alert must be maintained, that In itself is stressful. In all they deserve to be one of the two best shops (for different reasons) in a large portion of Southern California.
Went in today to get some information about recurve bows and prices on arrows. There was an older man with a beard working there that was helping a family with their questions. I waited patiently.Once he got to me, he just gave me a blank stare and every word that came out of his mouth after that was just filled with annoyance with a hint of arrogance. Granted, they are a well stocked and knowledgeable business. However, the lack of professionalism from this man made me end the conversation shortly. I will not be going back there again.I dont care how much you have in stock. Being rude doesnt help to earn customers.
Just bought my second bow from them. I’m not extremely well-versed in bows, but I enjoy shooting them. Hi-tech is always cool with helping me learn and guiding me to the right bow. I just bought a PSE Drive 3b from them and I love it.
This is the archery shop to visit. This is my daily go to location. I’d rather support brick n mortar than buy online but sometimes I can get better pricing a online. Beware of online rip offs.Don’t start purchasing archery stuff if you aren’t ready to spend $200+ to get started. Just utilize Hi-Archery’s rentals/range time until you know what kind of archery you want to dive into. It’s that easy to save $$$Pro:-huge inventory/variety(solid and reputable brands)-good price range options(Example: $140-$1300 bows/6pk $39-$200 arrows)-knowledgeable staff-indoor ranges-beginner classes (great for dates too)Con:-wait times due to time spent with new setup customer.(Not mad though)-parkingIf you’re trying to do a quick run, grab gear and go then don’t stop by on the weekend. Weekdays have less staff but can get what you need and go.Weekends are a little busier. You might be waiting a little bit until a staff becomes available. When it isn’t busy staff in the shop is just hanging out by the range or doing their side task - they don’t bug you while you shop so just walk up and ask for assistance if you need something.Overall this is an outstanding archery shop!
Super friendly staff! My family came to visit from Sacramento and we decided to go take an archery class at Hi-Tech Archery, we had lots of fun and plan on joining the sport! Thank you for introducing us to Archery in a fun and professional manner!
Decided to give this archery shop a try after giving up on most archery shops in so cal. Glad I did ! They had my bow setup and tuned right way with outstanding service. Worth the long drive from home. My go to bow shop now! Costumer service was incredible ! Thank you so much.
Wow what a wonderful time my girlfriend and I had there on Saturday. We took the first time archery class and had a great time. The lessons were laid out easy to understand and very. The two instructions were very helpful and easy to understand. For never shooting a bow and arrow in my life it was a great time. My girlfriend and I actually hit some. Well definitely go back.
I started going to Hi-Tech about 10 years ago and will not shop any place else for my archery needs.
Recommend taking the beginners class here if youre a beginner. The staff makes it super fun.
Hi-Tech Archery is great! Been there twice for the beginners archery lesson and both times have been fun as Ive learned something new each time. Mike and Everett are great! People in the shop are nice and will provide you with advice if youre looking to get serious about getting your own equipment.
Awesome experience, took my 11 year old daughter to practice and had a great experience, loved it!!
These guys are great! They provide outstanding service and are always helpful with any problems that I may have.
Instructors are very patient and care about teaching. Very fun.
My wife and I went for the 1hr lesson on groupon. Definatly worth it! Everette and Nia were our instructors. They did an awesome job! Were are going to come back. Great for a date night or with friends
The service is amazing and the staff are extremely kind
Hi-Tech Archery is an awesome place for beginning and experienced archers. They have excellent deals on group and individual lessons and genuinely care for their customers. They have two indoor ranges which makes the place ideal to shoot safely in a cool and well lit environment. It is a very family atmosphere as the owners are on-site everyday to make sure everything is running smoothly. They also have an incredible selection of bows and accessories. And their technical staff is very knowledgeable and eager to assist you with your bow and arrows.I would strongly recommend them to anyone interested in archery.
I bought a rest and had their tech install it. I took it to the range and it wasn’t dropping properly. Turns out it was defective. I brought it back to them and they worked on it immediately. Put a new rest on and everything is working great. Very happy with the service I got
Have been going here for a few years. They are great at working on bows and have a huge selection of everything bow related. Just had my string break on my full throttle 2 days before a big hunt. They were kind enough to take the strings off there bow and put it on mine so I wouldnt have to pay the overnight shipping for the right string to maybe get here in time. Cant recommend them enough.
Best place in OC to get archery products. a must go to spot!!!
On my way go go camping I stopped in.I had no idea about Archery and ended up buying a compound bow.I think it was sort of annoying to the sales-kid that I had no idea what I wanted but I feel like they would want someone like myself who had money to spend and was a blank slate. Also they had the sale in like ten minutes, I think I spent about $700.00I asked if they had a discount for Veterans or Military and they said NO.They have a range there and I was able to get a basic zero on my bow.
Literally everything you need to start archery, continue archery, and perfect your archery.DO NOT BUY EBAY/AMAZON BOWS if you are starting. Make the drive to this location. You can get solid information on starting the fantastic sport, hold and examine the stock, be fitted for your bow and even have your arrows cut and fitted to your draw length and bow weight, and immediately use your just purchased equipment and either try it out on their range or start your archery lessons.Even simple questions like Whats the difference between longbows, recurve bows, and compound bows? will be answered!Your trip to Hi-Tech will not only get your equipment, but give you the fundamentals in form, release and even etiquette when you get your lesson after your purchase.
Initially I was hesitant based on some of the reviews but I’m so glad I went they have the best options for most Bows so you can come and try different ones. their knowledge is well worth any amount of money that you Might have saved going the used route. Joe I believe is the owner he tried to talk me into buying a cheaper bow which is unheard of in sales, that tells me he isn’t trying to upsell me isn’t trying to take my money. What it does mean is he’s trying to make me happy. Awesome guys! I would like to add that in trying to figure out why someone would leave negative reviews when I had such a great experience I personally think that it is because as a beginner their Knowledge far surpasses mine in speaking to them it may seem like they are being harsh but they really aren’t they are simply explaining facts, correcting assumptions, and that’s a hard pill to swallow for some.
I agree with many other reviewers about the customer service at High-tech. Three men in particular, the older man and the two younger guys (especially the one with the frosty tips hair) are arrogant and have better than thou attitudes. Frosty tips once stared at me for about 10 seconds without saying even as much as a hello or how can I help you. These guys are inconvenienced by your business and dont seem to comprehend the importance of a happy customer or customer loyalty. I live very close to High-tech and even though it will be a long drive for me, will happily go elsewhere to avoid these pompous jerks.
Very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. Class is made fun.
Several years ago when I was first starting out in archery, I came to Hi-Tech Archery... primarily because they were the closest and possibly only archery store around at the time. When I went there, I waited 45 minutes for someone to even acknowledge my presence. I stopped going there for several years. I went back recently and found that not much has changed. The customer service is only adequate if you are a regular. Good luck if you are a newbie to archery for this reason I would give them 2 stars. On the positive side, they have a great facility and a many items in stock. For that reason, I would give them 4 stars. So... on average they get 3 stars. If given the choice, I would probably go to another archery store. Unfortunately, there isnt another one around that is close by, which could explain the mild arrogance in the customer service.
Great selection but service could be much much better
Went there to get my bow tuned and pick up some arrows and accessories. Staff was very knowledgable and helpful. Wide selection of products at fair prices. Will definitely be back in the future.Edit* : Went back to get Strings and Cables replaced for my compound bow. They did an excellent job installing them, and helped me adjust my draw length for a better fit. Still 5/5 for me.
Ive read some of the reviews about this place, but my experience was cool. Came with a friend for Beginners Archery lesson. They seem to have a large inventory of merchandise. I was acknowledged right after I came in, Groupon was checked, sent upstairs for the lesson. My instructor, Jonathan I think his name is, was nice and helpful. It takes an hour to really get comfortable, get your stance and form right.Im thinking of actually taking it up as a hobby, but will try to find 1 closer to my house.
Bought my bow from them, they do offer alot of services as far as tuning, setting up the equipment correctly but always seem like a burden whenever I go in. lately I been brushed off by telling me to call ahead for any services. I call ahead and its literally a 3 word conversation. Yes, not today... Thanks for taking my money and giving the cold shoulder to me the returning customer. Will be taking my business somewhere else.
Very knowledgeable staff, large selection and an indoor archery rayto test your choice before purchase.
Im a new archer, having picked up a bow for the first time just a few weeks ago on Nov 28th at a group lesson. I went in with mixed expectations since the online reviews of all three of the archery shops within driving range of my place including Hi-Tech tended to be quite mixed. The Good: Huge selection of equipment, has a public shooting range and a separate dedicated range reserved for lessons and private parties. When I went in for my group lesson, I knew that I would only get out of it what I put into it -- if I wasnt willing to ask questions then I wasnt going to get a lot out of it. I wasnt disappointed. The group lesson had 3 children (2 young boys and a girl) and the girls mother. The instructor and his son handled the class very well, providing some one on one time for me at the start (I was the only new shooter) and watching us throughout the whole hour giving advise on how to improve our stance, draw and aim. I didnt time it, but I suspect they gave me about 10 to 15 minutes of personalized time during the one hour group which was more than I had expected. Ive since gone back for three more group lessons and some practice time on the range. The instructor also gave me a lot of advice on a bow and helped me through the process of purchasing a bow for both myself and my girlfriend. So far Ive mostly worked with Art (the instructor I had -- I believe there are a few different ones) and David (one of the salesmen downstairs), both were very knowledgeable and professional. On the sales floor the staff really takes all the time needed to answer your questions when purchasing a bow and will fully rig and assemble your purchase while you wait. The not so good: The huge selection and lack of alternatives means the shop gets busy very fast. Add in the time and care they spend with each customer to make sure theyre getting exactly what they need and time spent assembling and tuning your purchase, means that you can have a long wait.
No one else even comes close to these guys. They are the best in Southern California. I have had nothing but EXCELLENT service, pricing, inventory on hand, etc. I always leave there with a smile on my face.
I went here with a Groupon for a beginners lesson for two for one hour. It had expired, but I called in and talked to a man who said he would still honor it after the expiration date. That was nice of them. Thats why they get their one star.I arrived to the lesson on time and there were enough shooting lanes for the amount of people there. Then when the instructor started teaching, people started showing up late. There were about 5-7 people who showed up late causing the instructor to start over. When we were finally able to begin shooting, the lanes were packed so tightly that people had to wait to shoot during each round. If everybody had showed up on time and they didnt overbook the session, it could have been a fun experience.
Hourly classes, they remember you if you returb. Friendly staff and desire to see you improve. Great for a fun date or solo learning. 2 ranges 1 for training other for seasoned archers. Even enjoy roaming thr store part!
Great place to shop, Joe is a class act, extremely knowledgeable, definitely a place to go for all my archery needs, all the big names in stock.
I traveled approximately 50 mi to this archery store to get some info on what type of recurve bow I should buy and the sales person seemed like they didnt want to answer any of my questions. I told him that I was willing to pay about $350 -400 dollars price range. He seemed short with me and didnt want to show me the pros and cons to the different style of bows. So I left the store frustrated and did my own investigation and bought a beautiful Hoyt Bow on EBay for a great deal. Went out out target practice the other day and was making Bulls Eyes at 32 yards away.
This is the second time I went to their class. They are all friendly and really great in teaching you how to shoot properly with the bow. I even hit the target a few times. Ive gotten comfortable with the bow after the lesson.
Really good place to go.
Excellent experience. Took our 9yo and I ended up shooting too. Instructors (tall thin blond and shorter asian girl, forgot names) were the best. Knowledgeable, patient, funny. Could not ask for more except more time!
Excellent equipment and knowledgable staff in person, but God help you if you need to reach them by telephone. I had a quick question to ask, called them on 3 different occasions to find only a mechanical sounding message that directed me to a full mail box, so I couldnt even leave a message.I say, if you dont want to answer the telephone, dont put a telephone number on your website and business card.
Extremely friendly and very helpful! Went here to buy my first bow and couldnt be happier! I had little experience in archery, but they were happy to help me pick out what I needed.
The go-to archery supply store in the Los Angeles area. Wide range of archery gear at all price points. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable
They have a great selection but seemed very unwilling to even talk to me while I was in the store. I took my two kids there because I was interested in putting them in archery lessons but it took close to 30 mins just to find someone willing to acknowledge the fact that I was even in the store. I actually had to follow someone to get him to talk to me because waiting at the counter did not work. I was waiting to speak to anyone about why I was there and three other people came into the store that were helped in front of me. It seemed like they may visit the place frequently so I guess they get priority if the staff doesnt know you. Once I was helped I was made to feel like I was bothering the staff by asking them questions about the lessons. I left and will not go back as I feel the staff were not interested in any new business here. I will take my business elsewhere even if it means driving a little bit further.
I have been to this store a couple and never even recieved a hello ....these people not all by the way just the 3 or 4 males I have dealt with...no can i help u no how r u ...just staring and pompous. I just need to get some arrows and a target was there for about 20 min no one even approached me ....the store looks great but customer service severely lacking. The one time I did talk to someone it was very short and curt and un professional..had high Hopes for this place but they fall short
Was looking to buy my first bow, I didnt know a thing about bows and had questions and didnt want to spend $100s. The sales person tried to push me toward the higher priced bows, when I so No and started asking about the cheaper bows the sales person got rude. I just said Thanks and walked out and went another place they were willing to answer questions and bought a bow.
Shout out to Jonathan for being a great teacher!Noob friendly environment, highly recommend giving it a shot! Ha get it. . .
Forget about getting any help on your bow or equipment here. Unless you bought your bow from them they give you little or no help with your equipment. Old guy in shop was a complete jerk in front of my grand daughter. These guys are into selling you equipment and nothing else. Guy actually told my grand daughter here bow was a waste of time. Brand new bear apprentise but instead of explaining problem went off in front of a ten year old like he was a two year old. She actually cried on the way home.Best bet is go someplace interested in archery. Not selling you something.
This is a Groupon must. Great lesson and fun experience. I will be back. It was nice and quiet. A good way to unwind on a Friday afternoon.
Went in as a beginner excited and ready to purchase a PSE bow that I had been researching online. The taller white guy with blonde hair was rude and not very helpful. Tried selling me a bow that was double the price of the bow I had already been asking about. When it came time to purchase they didnt have the color I was interested in and he didnt even offer to order the color I wanted, instead tried to sell one they already had. Basically dont be fooled by all the 5 star ratings, its clearly the shop/friends trying to bump up their ratings back up after the real reviews are posted. You can find them easily as every one of them is 3 stars or under. They also set my bow up wrong and I still have to drive down to try and have it set up correctly. Theyre lucky I gave them 2 stars instead of one. Havent been back since purchasing and I still have 4 free range times to use. They are just unfriendly there ..
Really cool staff. They bared with my daughters screaming even put a movie on for her while i got my bow tuned and practiced., really cool spot. Thanks for an easy and comfortable introductory into archery
Excellent service and friendly staff!
Archery Heaven. This is the best store in all of California for Archery equipment and instruction.
Called in the morning to reserve a spot for 3 in the archery lesson (my kids want to learn). The website says to call for reservations, but the lady there told me they no longer take reservations. There were only 2 spots open in the 12pm class but they were adding an unannounced 1pm class so there should be plenty of spots available. We drove 90 minutes round-trip to find the 1pm class full. I realize classes fill up, but they REALLY should take reservations so I dont have to spend 90 minutes just to disappoint my kids. While we were in the shop it was busy, but not a single worker bothered to look up and ask if they could help us. Did not a friendly vibe, wont be back.
Love this place, come here regularly. Very wide choice, helpful stuff and good range with very reasonable price.
Finest quality product, knowledgeable service. Best in Orange county.
I have had my ups and downs with this company.1) Been overcharged for things, but that is my fault for not shopping around.2) Heard many stories of people not being taken care of properly3) Called to make sure they had a bow in stock because I live far away and they had the wrong one on hold when i got there. In the end they have made up for everything with their customer service. Rick remembers me now when I go in there. He remembers my son also. Their inventory is incredible as they always have what I need. I would definitely recommend this company. Keep up the good work guys.
Indoor range for practicing archery. Lots of fun. Customer community is friendly and supportive, as is the staff.
The bow tech in the back is very eligible.they are not overbearing with whats the best out there they think about whats the best for you
Theyve always taken care of me. I moved to Montana from SoCal a while ago and still get everything short of bow tuning from them despite decent shops out here. Good honest dudes.
Had a great time, prices are fair, staff is awesome!
I love this place. Rick is the best
Went there because I got my Bowtech bow back from Bowtech but they did a shotty job and did not tune my bow before sending it back to me. My vain was hitting cable. I figured id bring it in to a Bowtech dealer to have it looked at and get it fixed. The lady that helped me the first time was very nice and said itd be $50 to get it tuned properly, I said Ill think about it. Came back about 30mins later to give them my bow to tune, another person helped me. He took my bow and basically eyeballed my centershot and said it was slightly off but vain still seem like it would still touch, so instead of trying to actually fix the problem he told me to turn my nock on arrow. WHAT? I even pointed out that Bowtech themselves turned the string stop to make string be centered which means that the string had been moved, but they said it doesnt matter as long as centered. Well thats probably the reason my vains are touch the cables. While waiting, I was listening to another employee (older Asian man) explain to a customer and basically said they priority is to help customers that bought their bows, so even if youre a paying customer but didnt purchased their bow, it seems like they dont care to help you. So at the end of my visit, I got changed $30 dollars for them to say, they moved my rest like a Milimeter to the left and to turn my nock. It puts a bandaid on it but it doesnt FIX the problem. At the end of the day, if you dont buy their bows, they dont care for your service.
I had a great experience taking my son there for lessons. Great shop and range ! Good people !
Awesome archery store with all your needs and an nice indoor range to shoot at.
I went to the shop to take some lessons and get more info on recurve bows since Im a complete beginner. First the positive--Joe was an absolute professional and couldnt be nicer or more understanding--explaining everything that goes into a bow and what I would need to get started and giving options from entry level to pro equipment. Cant say enough good things about him.So the negative: the lesson. There were about 10-12 people in their training area. I would say 8-9 were under the age of 13. Which I dont have any problem with, its great watching kids get excited about a sport. There were 2 instructors, one seemed like he taught for a living and the other seemed like one that just worked at the shop. The lesson for me consisted of the following:1. Heres how your left hand holds the bow2. Heres where your right hand goes3. Right hand under the chin and string on the nose4. Now go shootThe worst part is that I didnt get any personal instruction at all during the hour. I get its a group and you cant spend a lot of time with each individual--but I didnt get so much as 5 min. or tips on how to stand or aim. The instructors spent the majority of the time with 2-3 people and walking around the rest of the time moving elbows. Waste of money as far as Im concerned.I was so frustrated that I went to another shop in the Inland Empire and was SHOCKED that their lesson (same price $15/hr) had half the amount of people and proper instructions on step by step what to do and how to do it. Would not recommend Hi-Tech lessons at all--if anyone would argue that you need private lessons for more 1-on-1 time, Id say if the group lessons are any indication on how they teach, definitely dont waste your hard earned money.
Bought my first Recurve Bow at Hi-Tech Archery today! Very friendly service. Professional.
Great Place!! My son just had his birthday party here, and all of the kids had a great time shooting bows and arrows.
Had a pretty fun time. There was a Guy there mid 20s early 30s who would just not leave us alone! He kept watching me,coming next to me,touching me, and just made me nervous. I give it a 6/10
These guys are great! Service can be hit or miss. One or two of the employees act as if they hate being there. Theyre extremely condescending and horrible to talk to. BUT the staff that DO care are AMAZING and MORE THAN make up for the one or two terrible people. If you run into one of the more terrible staff members just ask for help from someone else. The rest of the staff are incredibly helpful and can help you find the perfect setup to start shooting same day. If you purchase your own bow you can shoot for free at the indoor range. I got so much awesome information on my trips there and learned a tremendous amount. Theyve also got a great selection of bows from recurve to compound.
Bought recurve bows for both my wife and I. They were incredibly helpful for us beginners.
The step by step instructions and the professionalism of the staff guarantees my return to this location.
The selection is great, but the staff... Unfriendly and a bit stand-offish. I think this isnt so atypical of these types of stores (hunting, shooting, etc). There develops a bit of arrogance among staff that makes them seem rather condescending.
Has a great selection of bows and helpful staff, but be wary of their busy days when you need to really need their help. They also have good starter lessons for beginners and a range for practice.
Really love this place I got fitted for my first re-curve and my little brother for his Compound Only thing I didnt like was the crappy sight I bought for my Re-curve but other then that great
I bought my first compound bow for hunting and went there for advice. The young guy was cocky but said a stinger was best for my budget. But he sold me a 60 lb bow instead of 70 saying it didnt make much difference. The bow was set up wrong, didnt shoot straight, had to take it back and be adjusted. A few months later I went in and upgraded the whisker brisket to a QAD rest. They installed it wrong. After taking it back again it still wasnt right. I called QAD, they installed the wrong height rest for PSE bow. QAD sent me the right part. I installed it and figured it out. About 2 Years later, I gave that bow to my son and went in and bought another faster bow. They set it up wrong again. STRIKE 3. I went online and figured out how to set it correctly. Ill never go back, my friend has had a similar experience. Its sad because I like to deal with brick and mortar over Internet companies. But my next bow will bought online, and save about 40%. Im in my 50s and have hunted all my life. Archery is the most challenging. Too bad the owner doesnt spend more time training his employees.
It really depends WHEN you go into the store. It is ALWAYS busy on Saturdays because they are closed on Sundays and Mondays, plus major holidays. I would recommend going in just about opening and before 4pm. I have had two group lessons in the past 1-1 1/2 mos. Next time I will go in for a private lesson. In my first group lesson, there were a few kids under the age of 12-13 and in my second, I had cocky guys who were in their late 20s early 30s. I know the instructor(s) try their best to assist everyone...in the second, I was being interrupted by what I was doing incorrectly...and I would try to remember every time I had to position the arrow before pulling it back. I am completely new to archery. I think I learned more when I brought in my bfs PSE compound bow to ask questions about setting the sight for different range (yardage) than I did in a the group lesson. Until next time...
It sure was interesting to find a shop that has great people around so eager, so helpful to give you an impeccable service like HT Archery. A young guy by the name of Taylor did so much to show what I was looking for with such enthusiasm and smile that instead of postponing buying my recurve bow--since I went there essentially just to get more arrows and target bag--I was able to get the one that suits my taste and grip more. Taylor even asked me that he would help me bring the heavy target bag to my car with a nice smile. Since I bought the bow there he handed a card for four shooting practice in the shop. (That´s worth $40.00 which I couldn´t get if I have bought the bow in Amazon. Besides, the price of the bow is the same as that buying online. What´s great was that I was able to hold and had the feel of the one that´s great for me). When I was inside the target room he wheeled the movable target so it would be closer to me since yours truly´s a newbie. He even took some time teaching me the basics. Twice he adjusted my arrow rest, and the last one, permenantly bolted it since he saw my wrong habit of handling the bow and arrow. Taylor indeed made my day and couldn´t forget the exciting experience I did have in Hi-Tech Archery! More power to you guys...and my hats off to you, Taylor!
The best customer service and helpful concerned people passionate about the skill of Archery!
Went in to see if they could adjust a composite bow I had bought online for my son. It was a cheap bow so it wasnt adjustable. Talked to a big guy with a beard. Came off as to short with me. But then again I did ask for the cheapest bow he had. I ended up buying it for 40$ Didnt give me a a receipt. I had to ask for one. The process took all of five minutes. I guess ill go back since its so close to my sons house. Customer sevice does lack. They definately have a large inventory. Very impressive/ organized store!
5 stars for selection and knowledge, 2 for customer service. Its a toss up on whether youll get someone whos nice and patient or someone who is short and appears inconvenienced to help you, especially with someone new to the sport. I sent my girlfriend in to get arrows to use on my Samick Sage takedown recurve 30#. Told her that she needed to say that she is new and needs to get arrows that are the right size for her and feather fletched since I shoot off of the shelf. The person who helped her basically ignored her request to measure her draw length and handed her a set of v-force victories saying that they are the only ones she can use. She tried to ask clarifying questions like will they fit her and what they were made of and if there were other other options, but she was bulldozed and ignored. He didnt offer to cut them or anything. The only option given to her was 6 or 12 arrows?Naturally, I was upset and went in the next day. Andrew was very helpful with me and sympathetic to the situation. I dont know why there is such a large difference in experience with different salespeople, but they need to be on the same page.
Expert Professional service. They set me up for Hunting and Tournaments..
Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of items in stock, indoor range.
Very nice Archery shop. Very knowledgeable, repair, range, everything I need.
Great place friendly and helpful service.
Please Read Before Visiting- My experience visiting several times to Hi-TechHi-Tech Archery is an impressive shop with impressive equipment and a wide selection of bows. However, it is inconveniently far from anything or anyone. I entered this shop at the age of 11, having wanted to learn the sport of archery based on my experiences of shooting at a summer camp when I was younger. When I entered the shop I knew very little of archery and trusted to guidance of the experts at the shop. Guided by the employees at the shop, I was recommended and bought a beginner bow (CARTEL IT 2000 RECURVE BOW 62 20Lb (recurve) and Easton jazz arrows and all was well. However, as I progressed with the sport and began to learn more and more, I wanted to buy a new bow (I was 13 at this time).I then purchased a solid metal recurve with detachable limbs at Hi-Tech. A very expensive competition bow that was in all truth wondrous and one that I still shoot with today. However, when buying such an expensive bow I asked many questions that were completely reasonable. This was only because I wanted to be sure this was the right bow for me. Such questions included, if I wanted to increase poundage how would I do that? Or if my old arrows would still shoot correctly on my new bow. These basic and simple questions seemed to agitate the employee who was helping me for about only 30 minutes. His only concern seemed to ensure that I purchase something from the store and be gone. I took this merely as a bad day for the shop and simply disregarded it.I recently visited Hi-Tech again in the month of January 2014, I am currently 16 now and much more experienced. I drove from LA to Hi-Tech, which with traffic is about a 2-hour drive. I went seeking new arrows for my bow and entered the shop. Only about 2 others were in the shop besides 3 employees, a small crowd. I asked for help from one of the employees and told him what arrows I was seeking. I then bought a set of 12 arrows at $60, which is a reasonable price. I then asked him a question of modifying my bows poundage and he gave me some attitude as If I was making a mistake in asking in the first place. I was seriously dissatisfied with my last visit and left with my new arrows. But, upon shooting the arrows the next day, I noticed a very amateur and stupid mistake. The nocks (the tab that goes on the string of the arrow were not securely fastened and thus after being shot at bales of hay were launched off the arrow. I am now the extremely unsatisfied owner of 5 broken arrows that are very new. Also, notice that all the reviews that are “good” (4 or 5 stars) are all made by people whom are beginning archers and have had no experience with archery. This is because Hi-Tech appears to be all knowing and experienced in their craft to those whom are not experienced. Hi-Tech desires only to sell as many badly fashioned bows as they can. At a far distance from anyone or any archery ranges, it makes for a terrible shop in an inconvienent location. DO NOT VISIT THIS SHOP AND INSTEAD FIND AN ALTERNATIVE. I suggest the many new archery shops that are popping up in many places near LA. I know I will being paying a visit to Black Ops archery as it is a shop recommended to me by fellow arches and run by a experienced and very nice archer.
Terrible customer service period and not willing to take the time to properly setup my girlfriends bow we bought there.
Pretty awesome experience and great instructors.
Better to go during the week than the weekend, weekends can get crowded and too congested to have fun practicing
