I loved the horseback riding & Olivia was an awesome guide. The horses were so sweet & perfect. But I can’t give 5 stars because of the horrible customer service beforehand. I emailed them weeks before our trip & explained that I didn’t want to book online yet since we weren’t positive if it would be 3 or 4 people, but asked if could book a 1.5 hour spot over email, they said that was fine. I gave them the info they requested (date, time, names, ages, weight, & height). They confirmed the date & time. We show up & they didn’t have us scheduled. The older woman was one of the rudest people I ever met. She said over & over we had to give a credit card to hold a reservation, but that was never said when I booked our reservation over emails. We don’t know their policies, that was our 1st time there. So we had to change up our whole day so she could squeeze us in later. We were only there for two days, so it cut out a lot of hiking time. It was extremely disappointing to be treated like that for such a silly reason.
Had such a great time! I needed a day away from the city rat race...and what better way to clear your head than riding a horse and staring at mountains. Thank you, Thomas, for making our day exceptional. We hope to return soon!
Going on a hunting trip out west and needed to learn basic horse handling. I dont remember her name but a nice young lady really helped me. She showed me an emergency stop (really nice to know) and maybe even more important how to get my older body on and off safely. Thank you the lesson was perfect.
I booked a guided trail ride this past New Years Eve. I was thrilled that they were still offering tours on a holiday. It had been years since Id ridden a horse but the staff was very patient and gave a quick tutorial. They are very safety oriented and make sure that all riders are comfortable and practicing safety protocols. Our guide was friendly, professional, and informative and she took us through a gorgeous trail. I got to ride Sadie, who was a gentle giant. Overall, this was a great value and the next time Im in the area, I will book again! I would highly recommend Royal Horseshoe Farm to anyone who is interested in horseback riding.
Staff were great and super helpful and personable. Best part is the trails aren’t flat. Makes a basic trail ride much more exciting and enjoyable of an experience!
Great experience, horses were well trained and tailored to each person’s experience level. Our guide, Thomas, was very knowledgable and made the experience even more enjoyable! Definitely coming back and recommending it to others!
The tour guides Heather & James were excellent! They were patient and supportive, especially with our younger son. He was initially scared, but by the time they finished our guy was confident and having a great time! The guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The path was really pleasant and the horses were really sweet. Great day out!
Horses were very calm and sweet. My 9 year old and I went. She rode bid light and I had Oakley. Bud light is probably one of the most chill lakes backed horse Ive hever meet and Oakley I reminds me of a Cadillac, a big ride but very smooth and sweet to boot. He was a ver BIG guy tho. All in all it was a wonderful time.
This is the best place to have a birthday party. No issues ever. Kids have a blast in the pool. Can still have party regardless of what the weather is outside. Cause everything is inside. Big plus this time of year
We had a wonderful experience here! Heather was our guide through the trails and she even added in a little history lesson along the way. Our hour trail ride took us uphill, downhill, and even through streams. We thought the cost was very reasonable considering the wonderful experience we all had at the farm.
Had an awesome first ride! Claire was an amazing guide and helped me get more comfortable with the horse I was on. Everyone working there was very nice and polite. 10/10 would ride again.
Amazing experience! Loved the horses, guides and the trail.
Great experience!!!! 1st time and really enjoyed it. Amazing staff, very friendly. Highly recommend! Definitely trying to come back soon.
10/10 people and location. Beautiful, well kept facility. They take excellent care of my pony!
I love this venue. The trail guides are super friendly, knowledgeable and thoughtful. The horses are well trained for the most part...if you want a horse with personality request Rosie . If you want a good low key horse Id recommend Daisy or Gray . Sparky is also a good boy.. obedient and will not brush you against the tree trunks.Which brings me to the trail. In short, it is beautiful, weaving in and out of hidden meadows, high grass, dense foliage and forest. Feels great in the warmer months because 70% of the train is nicely canopied by numerous deciduous and evergreen trees. It is nothing short of an adventure with roots dating back to the Civil War. It is dotted with a few reminders from that time. Be sure to test your guide on these facts... simply fascinating. If youre looking for a nice change of pace and scenery then look no further than Royal Horseshoe Farm. Youre in for a treat. (NOTE...they also have a nice/clean bathroom facility equipped with a decent sized shower.)
Great experience at this family farm! We brought our 3 year old daughter for a pony ride. I called very last minute, and they were quick to accommodate and squeeze her into the schedule. Super friendly staff and a beautiful farm! My daughter rode the pony named Sugar. He was a super sweet pony, very gentle, and a perfect first riding experience for my daughter.
Great service and easy trail for people who do not know much about riding horses. Our guide, Kurt, was fantastic. Perfect for young and new riders.
I took my wife out to this farm for her birthday to go horseback riding for an hour and a half and the experience was amazing. The views of the mountains were great. Unlike other farms, they aloud us to run the horses a little bit. They were super friendly and they made sure that the horse along with yourself were comfortable. They provided step by step instructions on how to properly mount, ride as well as steer the horse. They offer riding lessons for inexperienced to experienced riders. My wife and I will definitely go back.Darris & JoAnne Alston
Very impressed with everybody there they was very nice
Our Adventure was for my granddaughter “Savannah’s” 8th Birthday! I was riding the most AMAZING HORSE “OAKLEY” For an intermediate Strong build rider! FIVE STARS ACROSS THE TRAILS FOR HEATHER & HER TEAM & MY RIDING BUDDY “OAKLEY”! Will be back from California to see you soon “OAKLEY”!Cindy Chase
This place is great, Ive been twice and had a great experience each time. I have found here, that I really like interacting with horses. Their all super unique, and friendly... exactly like the human staff :)They worked us in as a walk in once, and we went with a reservation the time before. Both times were great. The guide was interesting and seemed to like to talk about horses, even with those of us who dont know much about them.We will definitely go back! And thanks!
The royal horseshoe farm is the greatest place you could ever go to. It’s great for all ages and they’ll help you along the way. The horses and people are amazing and there prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this place because of the joy and happiness it gave me. ️
Had a very enjoyable time their a few days ago. The trainer was Kerry. She was very fun and informative. Her enthusiasm for horses was infectious. My 10 year old daughter had a wonderful time. Will definitely go back!
We loved our trip to Royal Horseshoe Farm. We had large party of 7 people and all of us were beginners and had never done this before. The trail guides were so friendly and showed us around the stables and paired us with their wonderful selection of horses. My horse, Rosy, was obviously my favorite but all of the other horses were also just so adorable and friendly! Once we were saddled up with instructions on how to steer the horses, we set off on a lovely trail ride which was scenic and peaceful. We passed through streams, climbed sloped hills and rode along some beautiful landscape. Riding on the horses was not only peaceful but also so interesting and educational. You get to know a lot about the personalities of these beautiful animals during the ride and we all just loved the experience. Since it had rained quite a bit the night before, the last half hour of our trail ride was inside which was really nice as we got a chance to do a small obstacle course as well as trot with our horses!I can safely say that we will be going to Royal Farms again. Once again, I would like to also give special credit to our trail guides who were extra patient with some of our group members who were a little apprehensive before the ride. Their comfort and assurance helped make this a special experience for everyone!!
The owner took great care of horses and made sure we all were safe before riding
They were great and very patient with my 9-year-old who questions everything. Neither of us have much riding experience and they were great with showing us the ropes and helping us feel more confident. The trail was a lot of fun with lots of different terrain. Daisy and Toby were very sweet and trusty steeds!Thank you for the experience. We had a wonderful time and will definitely come back!
Royal Horseshoe Farm did a nice job of supplying myself and my two 9 year old grandsons with a quite pleasant trail ride. There was a high heat advisory for the 2nd of July so the ride was 95% in the shade. We also crossed a stream twice which added to the excitement for my grandsons as this was the first time for both of them to ever be on horseback. I would recommend Royal Horseshoe farm to anyone, especially beginners.
Nice, relaxed ride on a mostly wooded trail. Good opportunity to interact with the horses before and after the ride. As someone who has ridden multiple times, I would have liked the opportunity for a short canter or trot across one of the meadows, but understandably there may be reasons this isnt possible, especially given there were several beginner-level or first-time riders in the group.
Great experience for our family. The guides were attentive and lots of fun. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Well worth the money
Took my girls (they are 10) on the 1 1/2 hour trail ride. We loved it so much that we went back the next day and did it again and took more family with us. The youngest was 6 and he even got to ride by himself. The horses are very tame and loveable. The prices are reasonable and the scenery is gorgeous. Rita was our guide both times and she was amazing. Very sweet and knowledgeable. The girls loved her. Will definitely be going back again during next years vacation.
Amazing place with so many different things to do and extremely inexpensive!! I had a birthday party for my son and daughter who are 8 years apart and it was fun for all age groups! Since their birthdays are in January the indoor pool was great! Will definitely go back!
Absolutely AMAZING ride!!!We are experienced riders and have been on many trail rides, but this ride by FAR was exceptional! We took a 2 hours guided ride (the longest they offer) and the scenary was amazing! Our guide (dont quite remember his name, younger gentleman with glasses) was exceptionally knowledgeable and a joy to have as a guide! If you are planning a horseback riding adventure, and want a VERY scenic tour through the mountains and woods (and we saw MULTIPLE deer on our ride) this is definitely the place to do it!!VERY professional and a VERY beautiful ride!!
Rose and Everyone there are awesome!! Great place, would recommend it for anyone whos looking whether youre a beginner, advanced or anywhere in-between.
I had a horrible time at this ranch! I took my friends here for my birthday and they put my boyfriend on a horse without a helmet and then right before we left were rude to him for not wearing a helmet when the mounted him without one. Before we left to go on the trail my friend was standing next to the instructor and her horse was being adjusted for her to be mounted on and he bit her and left a huge bruise on her and when she commented on it to the instructor who saw it happen she just said no biting to the horse which then tried to nip her! During the trial ride my horse got bucked by another horse causing it to rear up and I almost fell off, my friend who had never ridden received no instruction on how to ride, her horse got bit by my boyfriends horse so her horse freaked out and she is now literally terrified of horseback riding, and my other friends horse would walk so slow that it cause a huge gap the line leaving the other horses and riders behind. The horses did not listen to their riders and the employees blamed us, BUT THESE HORSES WOULD NOT LISTEN. It didnt matter how are you pulled or kicked or verbally told them everyone on that trial ride had a hard time with them. There another woman there whose horse kept wondering off the trail and would ask for help and didnt get any. And there was a experience rider struggling with her horse that bit and kicked at another horse. All in all my friends and I did not have a fun time and it ruined not only my birthday but also my friends experiences with horses all together. I would not recommend this farm to anyone, the only good thing was that the ride was that there were no breaks during the ride so you got to enjoy the full hour and a half and that they took you through a couple different terrains.
Great horses, beautiful location.
Great place to take your family to go horseback riding. They are super friendly and the prices are very reasonable!
Great place, very friendly staff and nice trail ride
Staff and owner are nice and honest. I will bring my bring my family here.
Great. Highly Recommended.
