Loved this awesome theatre! Small, friendly and very clean! Highly recommended!
A true hometown gem. Great movie going experience!
Royal Cinemas the best! The popcorn is fresh. The candy selection is like no other theater around. The owner and staff are wonderful, and the theater is so clean!
Went to see Birds of Prey last night.. The movie was good. Service was good.. BUT .. my husband and i dont drink soda so we asked for a cup of water instead.. we were offer a kids size cup for free and when we asked for something bigger.... well.... you have to pay the price of a fountain drink. We paid $5.25 for a large cup of water with some ice. And that was each!! Felt kinda ripped off!!
First review - caught matinee of Birds of Prey at a great price. Seating was self serve but there was plenty of seating for all watching with enough room to spread out. Snacks were tasty. The thing that caught me off guard was the sound quality, much richer than what I was expecting for an independent! Will definitely be visiting again as is half the distance to my closest A-list accepting theatre. Looking forward to many more flicks.
Great staff. Features were relevant to Front Royal. Super clean bathrooms. Great popcorn and toppings. Been twice and will go again. Please add hot dogs.
Staff is extremely friendly. Good place to see movies. I like the smaller theater. Feel like your part of the movie
Nice, homie theater. Its clear they lean into the hometown theater vibe. Very clean and well-maintained. The volume was way too loud however.
The best bang for your buck! New screens, new seats, and a great experience for just 6 dollar matinee tickets. Royal Cinemas for life!
I love my small town theater. Very friendly staff. The inside is clean. They offer free Christmas movies every weekend in December, we go every year.
The place is clean and the staff friendly. The seats and picture quality have increased over the years. The prices for condiments have as well, but a business has to make money somehow. The theater is working with what it has space wise, so hope you like it cozy. This limits movie selection, so there is that. Overall would recommend.
Royal Cinemas is a fun small town theater with friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.
Great sound!! Great picture!! And its very comfortable!! Not over priced! We love it!
Love my hometown theater! Comfy seats great picture and sound quality.
One of the best cinema experiences you can ask for. We sat in the first theatre which is a smaller one but the screen was huge and the sound was perfect. Not to mention they renovated recently and the place looks brand new. They also have very reasonable prices for drinks, candy, and popcorn. Can’t wait to go back! Thank you Royal Cinemas for making a memorable experience with my daughter.
Love this little theater great prices and great movies
Good ol’ local theater with good seats and screen/sound! Been going here for a long long time and prefer this place than any other places around.
Saw Dr. Doolittle on 1/31/30. Theater was freezing. Shivered through it. Image was set wrong and cut off the subtitles. Went out afterwards to inform someone, but couldnt find an employee.
It was clean, service was good & the movie & sound were great!
Great theater and great popcorn, everyone is friendly, theaters have been upgraded its very nice I do recommend to anyone watching a movie here!!!
Love my hometown Cinema.
Great theater with $7 student tickets
I love it there it has such a great feel and the people are awesome. Love going as much as I can!
Great local Cinema. Friendly staff. Plenty of drinks and snacks. Nice for us locals who do not want the hussle and bustle of the larger theaters such as Regal & Alamo. I would recommend this to anyone in the area.
Nice, quaint theatre. Great place to see a movie that has already been out for quite some time, not recommended for opening weekend movies though. Highly recommended for a weekday date. Great ambiance and feelings of nostalgia upon walking in, if they remember to keep the the mop closets closed.Recently went to go see Star Wars, this show, of course has been packed, so decided to go for a matinee early Sunday. The theater decided to move the show into a smaller upstairs, one bedroom studio apartment-size theater. They wanted to play holiday movies in the larger theater for some unknown reason. The small theater they moved the show to had seating identical to airplane seating. Seats are tightly squeezed next to each other, no leg room, and even though the rows in front of you drop down, they are not spaced far enough to prevent somebodys head from blocking the screen. If you wanted to get up and leave; the entire row would have to stand and back up as tight as they can against their chairs to leave barely enough room to get by.This tiny room they moved us to has only one exit; theoretically, if a fire would have broken out, there would have been no chance for escape. Our theory for this big blockbuster show being moved to this tiny little theater was for money. Since the matinees are several dollars cheaper than the evening shows, they would rather have their larger crowds showing up when tickets are more expensive. We were not amused.
Great family fun reasonable prices
Good location, friendly staff.
This is an awesome home town theater and I love it. The staff is super friendly and the popcorn is so delicious. I go here all the time and its always amazing. I must say that I miss the sound of actual film, but the future is digital, so I must adapt. They have worked hard to modernize it without letting it lose any charm. The brand new seats are comfy with big drink holders and they always have current films. Its a real hometown, dare I say nostalgic experience! It reminds me of when I went to the movies as kid. Its that kind of special place. I try and support small theaters and you should too. Otherwise well be left with just the mega theaters and there will be no more real movie memories left to be had.
I mean, what do you need at the movies? Lots of pros: Good selection of candy, good deals on kids snack deals. The theater isnt sticky or creepy. They have flavors of salt and powders to shake on your popcorn. You can refill your popcorn or drink (endlessly) really cheaply! The lighting in the bathroom takes 10 years off your face. Theyll switch your ticket or refund it if your teen and her/his friends make last-minute changes or want to leave after 5 minutes. Theyre also great about ejecting trouble makers and keeping the place decent and safe. If you leave your teen or preteen there with friends, the staff is used to, and keeps their eyes on those groups. Some cons: I wish kids were cheaper up to a higher age. I wish there was a pass option like discounts for 10th movie or prepay passes or some kind of popcorn loyalty program lol.FYI, if a popular, new movie is your plan, get there early or get your ticket online. You can go in the day before or whatever, as well. Ive seen them sell out. Ive seen lines down the street.
Pleasant old school movie cinema with good prices. We we were camping and needed a break from the rain, so we saw Deadpool 2- enjoyed both the movie and the movie theaters atmosphere. Note- they sell craft beers across the street, I bought one and snuck it in....
This theater has been around for a long time but always has a youthful attitude. Friendly people, good movies, all the right concessions, and great prices. $6 matinees. And heres something for those with allergies: they use coconut oil for their popcorn.
Gem of a movie theater, unexpected find. Movie rooms are smaller with fairly comfy chairs which make for a nice experience and cant beat the prices. Our family has made this our go-to spot for new releases.
Great place to stop by for a movie with family and friends. Prices are okay
Amazing local theater! They always show the popular movies my family enjoys. Always very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. The concessions arent too expensive and there is a good variety of things to choose from. We love our local theater! :)
What can I say, its the best deal in Northern Virginia. Hometown theater thats been here in Front Royal for over 30 years. Reasonable prices for tickets, and Concessions. Oh the popcorn is the best
Nice hometown theater. One person posted that they play movies that have been out for quite sometime. Not at all true. They play first-run movies on opening day. Theyre also really nice people.
I love the theater and the staff, very clean, very well kept and the staff is friendly. BUT, they always have the worst movies, and they keep them around way too long. It’s a shame!
Vintage theater, good prices
Bringing friends in here is bc you can hang out with friends.
Nice theatre, cheap prices compared to other theatres. The chairs were comfortable. Like the butter table and seasoning table to add the butter and flavoring to your popcorn.
We love Royal Cinemas! Great value for family movie nights! Love that they are open for matinee through the week.
Great prices, friendly staff, lovely owners. A real community asset.
Nice little place to watch movies on a date?
Great little downtown cinema. Three screens. Current films.
Great, locally owned theater. Updated seating, and high quality video and sound.
Small town theatre feeling, good popcorn comfortable seats with armrests that go up. Good quality sound with good picture also. Had a great experience!
Great little smal town movie theater!
One of the greatest joys in a theatre such as this is how they have respected the history of the old Park Theatre, yet ensured modern desires (brand new state of the art 3-D screens and leather reclining seating) are accommodated. A very reasonable and fun family outing compared to the cost of the larger town and city theatres.
I love this little family theatre! And the prices are actually good !
If youre middle aged, like me, this place will make you nostalgic. While the seating and ambience are straight from my childhood, the projection system is first class and modern. Prices are very reasonable. Oh, and each movie is preceeded by a short from a local production company that is always set in the theater lobby. They change them frequently, and theyre always hilarious.
Great place to watch movies.
Very clean with good staff and snacks.
Very nice comfortable theatre
Absolutely love this small town Cinema
Great place to watch a movie and have fun with your family!
Love to support our local small business. This one is an easy choice. Nice comfortale, clean auditoriums. Two large ones and one cute one that is not much bigger than my entertainment center room. Friendly staff.
Nice local, independent theater. Good digital equipment and clean, clear screens. Much cheaper than muliplexes and concessions are also more affordable. Fun commericals before the movies make this place a treat.
It’s a great little home-town theatre. We always hit the matinees for great family deal!
Close to home to watch movies!!!
Local theater, unfortunately I could not get a large cup with ice of either unsweetened ice tea or water. Everything they offer to drink is either sweetened or contains artificial sweeteners.
Great service and clean theatre but bring plenty of money if you want to purchase snacks and drinks...lol
Even though its small. This theater still has great movies and good food to make a Sunday night great. Even though I dont go here often I wish I could because its great.
Great theatre!
Small town theater with the big name movies!
3 screen theater, not super huge, but nice. Staff are polite, and friendly. Theaters are clean. None of the soda glue on the floors.
Great little movie theater. The main screen is great. They have updated the projectors and added 3D. Love this place on Main Street Front Royal.
A nice historic theater. Not to big not to small.
Nice venue in a beautiful downtown area with restaurants within walking distance.
Very nice place and prices!!!Will be back with my granddaughters! !
The perfect small town theater that happens to have all the latest movies. Clean, safe, and comfortable in every way. Love it!
My boys and I love walking downtown to this theater to see movies at Royal Cinemas. Great prices and clean, comfortable theaters.
Really enjoyed watching a movie! Clean, not crowded, and good service. Plus the little chocolate chip cookies were awesome!
Good price for a movie. Really comfortable seating
Customer service was good and the theater was fairly clean
Air conditioning dripped on me the whole movie.
If youre a spoiled, snot nosed brat from the city then this theatre is not for you. Go back to Fairfax County and watch a movie there. This is a wonderful, old time, country theatre setting but all the infrastructure is modern. Snack selection is wonderful and popcorn is fresh. Plus the people working here look you in the eye and say hello and are actually capable of conversation - not like the 35 Cinema megaplex where they just want you and the 3,000 other people to move through the line.We go here often and we love it.
Good older theatre with great popcorn. Great sound
Good solid theater experience
Loved it! It was like stepping back in time. Great experience and so much fun!
Cute and small also a gaming place right near it!!
Its not the fanciest theater, no table service or dinner menu like Alamo, but its an independent small business that is invested in the local community and that alone is reason enough to support it. Friendly staff, clean, home town atmosphere.
Always love going to the movies here. Concessions are always a good deal with the combos, ticket prices are reasonable, and the new seats are extremely comforable. I love our hometown movie theater, Royal Cinemas.
Enjoyed the new and improved theatre . Very comfortable seating and really enjoyed the movie
If you are a Veteran you get a dollar off a $10 ticket, just for you. Doesnt include any dependants. Wow thats great. Why even bother giving the discount. Smh. Im just saying if you only give a Vet a dollar off atleast make it for every ticket bought for the family. Which was my two kids and my spouse.
We always love going to Royal Cinemas. popcorn is fresh and seats are comfy!
Great little theatre, may be small, but we can usually get in on opening weekend without a problem!
Absolutely love this theatre. It combines all of the modern aspects people demand with hometown charm and personal service.
Great small movie theater! Staff is pleasant, theater is clean, and I love their local commercials, very creative.
Love this place. My home town theater!
Amazing staff !! Great Theater all around. Next time im getting cookies !
Great little theater
Great Hometown feel, they have 3 Theaters.
They have a lovely staff and amzing popcorn
Could be better. Could be way worse.
Great service, good, snacks and drinks!
Nice seats, big screens and good prices. What more could you want!
I was at a movie on June 30th with my fiancé and the customer service was absolutely horrible. When buying tickets (matinee rules), they were unhelpful and unfriendly in explaining how the coupons worked. Actually, only one older woman made the experience horrible. It did not seem like she wanted to be there or to ensure that the customers were happy. She was snippy about buying drinks, and came into the theatre after we had sat down. She came over to me and my fiancé and told us to sit differently because she didnt want to have to clean up after the movie had let out. Very unprofessional and gave what could have been a great trip to local movie theatre very sour turn. Looks like this theatre needs some new employees, or for one to go at least.
Nice theater 2nd floor makes me nervous with only. One exit.
Nice seats and very comfortable. Good choice of movies!
