Always super helpful and have taken time out of their days to answer random questions for me extensively. Very nice people and Mike is helping me set up my craigslist kiln! Also they usually have standard 112 clay.

They have a great selection of supplies and classes. We took our 3 kids here for a pinch pot lesson and they loved it. We glazed our own pots they had pre made. They have some really cool glazes.

Every time I visit, not only do they provide the help I need, but they go above and beyond to give me tips and help me problem solve. Arline and Crystal are experienced potters themselves, and they share their wealth of knowledge. The Kiln Doctor is more than just a place to purchase pottery supplies at a good price, its an amazing community resource!

I absolutely love this shop. From the very first time I went there they were very friendly and informative. They go out of their way to answer questions and offer lots of tips. I cant wait to visit again in the fall. ;)

After paying to ship my kiln to them for repair, all they did was talk to me about purchasing another kiln. I paid to have it shipped back again. Thermocoupler was all it needed and I was up and cooking pots again. Mike MAY be able to fix kilns, but they are not very honest or ethical. Just as with a medical dr...get a second opinion. This dr is only interested in sales.

I have received great customer service, both, on the phone and in person. Love this place! Great selection of products and supplies at good prices.

4 GOOD stars with ONE REALLY BAD STAR! Very, very good at fixing pretty much all the equipment in a pottery studio. Repairs are always solid! BUT and this is a BIG BUT they are TERRIBLE at communication, returning calls, setting up and keeping repair appointments. Just TERRIBLE. I usually have to wait months to get the work done. I put up with it because they do such great work but I wish they would correct this major problem. I am guessing the issue stems from having more clients then they can handle efficiently.

I have been a potter for many years. Before I recently moved to the Shenandoah Valley I was told that one of my first contacts should be The Kiln Doctor in Front Royal. I have found it to be an invaluable resource on many levels----great monthly workshops, advice on glazes and tools and, most importantly, help in setting up my own studio, in particular my kiln. I had had no previous experience with firing a kiln and had never been able to have my own pottery studio. The co-owners, Arline and Mike helped and working with my electrician to get the right electrical work installed. Finally, both were patient and supportive as I asked for advice during my first two firings.
