We had so much fun at Bucs during our weekend stay in Fredericksburg! The staff handled all of the COVID restrictions really well and were very gracious.

I feel like this place could be so much fun. Karaoke was super entertaining. Staff was friendly. Stayed open late, when most other places shut down early.The only reason I give it 3 stars is because of Covid, they have implemented so many rules that dont make sense. I went with a party of 8 but we couldnt sit together. Only 4 people per table were allowed and we couldnt push 2 tables together. Dancing was not allowed, nor was standing. Only one person from our party was allowed to order drinks from the bar.Ill go back after Covid to see what its really about.

This place is a joke in regards to the Covid restrictions. You cant even stand up next to your table (with a mask on) without getting told by the wanna be security guards to sit down. These dudes are definitely on a power trip. However, the bartenders can wear their masks around their chin while serving people and thats okay. This place as the potential to be a fun place but its obviously poorly ran.

If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. This establishment is anything but pleasant simply because of the power-hungry staff.We were in town for a bachelorette party and I have never witness/have been treated so poorly. The COVID restrictions are bizarre; I understand we’re in uncertain times and we’re all doing our best. HOWEVER, the execution of said restrictions are ultimately distasteful. It was a strange scene to watch the staff interact confrontational with guests.This place has the potential to be great but the staff are clearly running it into the ground.

Said karaoke would be there at 8:00 pm, we get there and they dont show up till after 9:30, they let 4 people sing and DJ for another hour. They would not even refill my water without ordering food. Then I was asked to leave because I could not sit in their uncomfortable chairs any longer (just out of surgery and cant sit for long periods of time).

Bar food... delicious. Went there on a Friday I think. Looking forward to coming back with my relatives.

Hahaha literally dying laughing because this place is a joke. In town for a Bachelorette party and they had us wait for over an hour only to let every single bit of the locals in before us. It felt like an alternate universe. They kept claiming they were going to kick someone out to let us in. It was very bizarre. I will say I have never seen so many dirty/greasy looking people in my life. Very unfortunate situation. Feeling beyond blessed we did not end up getting in.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Not only are they inconsistent with their so called Covid policies but they treated my group awful despite the fact that other people were spitting into a microphone, meanwhile I stood up to dance right next to my table with the mask on and got told off. If you’re gonna make rules apply it to everyone. Will never recommend this place.

The bartender (Holly) was amazing! Otherwise, the kitchen was closed and had been for months (what we were told). The restaurant should invest in some better cleaners as the bathroom floors looked like they could use a pressure wash and the container at the bar that holds fruit, the clear lead showed all types of gunk. I did not feel safe drinking there so glad we did not eat there. Again, Holly saved the visit with her attentiveness and great attitude.

Saturday night, October 17th, came in with a couple friends and as we’re leaving we were questioned, by heather the security guard, who was going to be driving home and continued to go back and forth with us as we were just trying to leave. We had 2 beers a piece.... This isn’t the first time she’s been completely rude to us and others.

Terrible experience, terrible staff, terrible treatment. Will never go here again

Grumpy staff and by the looks of it, unless you’re a usual...they don’t want you in there. I suggest trying out Hondo’s or Crossroads if you’re visiting from out of town. Really anywhere would probably be better.

We went for a bachelorette party, it was fun. My only suggestion, is the smoke. If it would be outside only, I wouldnt just remembered the smoke. However it wasnt the people going that were making it stink it was mostly employees I recall seeing smoking. Other than that the music was live-mostly hip hop. Saturday karaoke night and pool tables.

Was waiting in line to get in and saw the girl in front of me be denied entry in after leaning against a post. I guess the security staff decided that based off of that she was too drunk to be let in? Bizarre. She had been behaving quietly in line up until that point. Once inside, the bar staff was rude. Would not recommend. There are much better bars to go to in Fredericksburg.

We visited Buc’s while attending a work conference in Fredericksburg. The staff there were super nice and extremely helpful! And as a bonus, they went above and beyond when we left an item behind, they were kind enough to put it in the mail for us! I’d highly recommend this bar if you want to have a hill country bar experience!

Great little bar in the heart of Fredericksburg. Went in to have 1 drink at about 10 pm on a Sunday. Before ya know it the bar had a pretty good crowd, I was tipsy, and it was 2am! Several pool tables, my wife loves the punching bag, and free trivia at the bar. Id love to hit that place on one of their karaoke nights. Ill definitely go by again my next time through town!

Walked several blocks after calling to check if they would be open. Turned away at door because the lady checking ids said we were too drunk. When asked for the observed behavior that led to drunk determination, no explanation was provided. Cant say if its a cool spot but there was a minimal amount of people there and mostly rude interaction with front line staff. Let the locals have it and tourists check out something better.Update: 3/18/20Figured maybe someone would reach out but surprise. They havent. Taking a look at recent reviews it seems stars have dropped. Perhaps training is needed to help determine who you want in your bar. Or maybe that has already happened and it isnt about suspicion of intoxication but suspicion of being a tourist. Would have been nice to shoot some pool but we dont want to be somewhere we arent wanted more than staff doesnt want us there. Good luck with the business though. I honestly dont want anyone to fail but unfortunately in the hospitality business hospitality is mandatory. If not received then money isnt given. Hard to run a business with no money. Get it together and we will give it another shot. Dont and Ill be playing pool at the spot that bought out your foreclosed bar.

Fredericksburg is a wknd vacation destination. You would think that an establishment would not only be gracious but appreciative of out of towners patronizing their establishment. The wide load at the door was disrespectful, rude and acted like she was doing us a favor by letting us in to this hole in the wall. We had a party of 10 that were willing to spend money here and have a good time. After dealing with woman at the door who obviously has issues she needs to work out we went in did a round of shots and left. My suggestion is if your in town visiting find another bar that appreciates people picking YOUR bar to spend their money at. Would never go back.

I loved this bar! My buddy and I came here hoping for locals and pool and we got so much more.great staff. Great clients. Great kareoke. Can smoke in doors. Shuffle Puck, pool and darts were all in rant good shape. They even had LIARS DICE at the bar! And the bar tender lady taught us how to play. Such a great find. Not touristy.

This place is less than adequate! In the first 5 min of being there, our party of 5 was told to watch our drinks. Being 20 people in the bar and the fact that I had a glass of wine with my meal and one Truly after dinner, I was surprised by the the acquisition and questioned it. The “staff member” couldn’t really tell me what I had done wrong, just said someone told her I was “inebriated.” After talking to her, she clearly saw that wasn’t the case but this dump wasn’t worth the potential trouble we could have incurred. Pease take this seriously and stay at Crossroads! I wouldn’t give them a star if it would’ve allowed me to still write this review.

The security at front saw us arrive with no vehicle.. as we where pulling out our ids taking a breath after walking from dinner at main street, stating that one of us wabbled,,, as in leaned against the entrance waiting to get in. We asked for a mananger and she stated(brittany) they they where to busy for customers to take a complaint(worst customer service I have ever seen, at any hole in the wall bar. Yes if someone is drunk and falling keep them out but do not be rude about it and make sure they are not before you choose who enters this place. Never recomending this place to anyone. Came to the Pioneer; band sounds fun, bartenders are nice, and the couple next too us said dont go to Bucs is what they heard but then went to Silver Creek way better service and beer selection.

Really great place, we went right before karaoke stayed and got a few games of pool in. The staff is super friendly and the environment is chill and not loud or stressful. 10/10 would recommend if you are just looking for a place to hang out with some friends before calling it a night.

Karaoke was fun and they have plenty of pool tables, it is a smoking bar.

It was a good place. We dance a lot and the dance floor was a little on the small side. But we got our dancing fix. Crowd was good. Karaoke singers were entertaining. It is a smoking (inside) bar.

Was asked for photo Id to enter this place. Considering Im in my 50s I didnt think entry would be any problem. The lady on the door refused entry because I was from out of the country and her Id machine didnt recognisean Irish driving licence. She hadnt the intelligence to use discretion. Her attire left a lot to be desired considering she is dealing with the public. Ive seen better dressed vagrants.

Could be nice, but sadly they wouldnt let us in with European ID cards. I thought this was strange because nowhere else in Texas had raised this as an issue. Ah well - Der Daiwel around the corner is much better anyway.

This bar would not let my friend form Norway in to play shuffleboard even with her passport! They said she did not have a state issues passport or license. I thought this was a tourist town and she was visiting from Norway! Very disappointed!

Came here to celebrate a friend getting married. And the “security” staff was hateful and mean. We were a group of young women and moms, just looking for a good time and instead we’re treated less than human. Also, my clothes will smell like smoke for the next 10 washes.

Trash. If youre not a local dont go there. Theyll kick you out for no reason.

Horrible place! We walked 10 mins in heels and when we got there the lady in the front said she couldn’t let us in since we were stumbling on our way there. She didn’t even try to listen to us. Worst service ever! DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The bar is fun HOWEVER, we came from out of town to do kareoke and the DJ kept on doing his own songs....a few ppl in our group never got to even sing. The bar was busy, its a Friday night and he would skip ppl on purpose and then continue to do his own songs.Ppl are there to do kareoke not listen to him! If he wants to sing so much join a band.

My friend and I came here on our last night of our girls trip and we had the BEST time! It was a slow Sunday evening and only a few people but everyone was so sweet to us and making us laugh! Jacob was our fabulous bartender and he was charming, funny, and very attentive to us

Good atmosphere. The lady walking around with the shots would only work on one side of the bar and I couldnt ever get her attention so I gave up. I also had a very hard time getting the bartenders attention for more drinks, and I was sitting at the bar.

A very nice place good people and karaoke on Tuesdays Thursdays Friday and I believe Saturday not completely sure.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My friend stumbled up the hill and the bouncer didn’t let us in because she said that we were too drunk to come in. We were not drunk, we were tired and in heels. Unacceptable.

Horrible place! Doorman is on a power trip, hits on every woman, owner is drunk in the corner, poor service, drinks are weak. This place is a joke!

Looks like a sports bar but didnt even have an NFL playoff game on the big projection screen.

Had a great time! As a warning to others, smoking is allowed indoors. Saturday karaoke is a blast, and characters of all kinds can be found here!

Bartenders were friendly and quick! We had a great time karaoking and meeting new people. Will stop by again next time in town.

This is likely the last place Id recommend anyone go, local native or visitors. Im really surprised that theyre still open.

I’m a local . I just wished they had like a tejano night or Latin night . Instead of just playing all English throw backs . I like it it’s a cool place just wish they had different music here and there .

They have great food, great service, and its overall a pretty neat experience to eat at this restaurant. If you leave hungry its your own fault.

Fun place! Good drinks and when food is available its good and easy too. Warning this is not a grill its a 21+ bar with food... sometimes. Also smoking is allowed so if this is an issue for you, this place is not for you. Karaoke happens often and there is a DJ for dancing most nights

I had fun but it was A LOT of bridal parties!!!! Kareooke was fun as well!!

A member of our group was kicked out for having a speech impediment because he was “slurring his words”. Female staff members VERY rude to guests. One “staff” member was FORCING Jell-O shots on patrons while singing Karaoke. Staff was physical with other patrons when the staff themselves didn’t know how to read an ID.

Do Not go here! They will hold you there against your will and call the cops to get you arrested if they dont want to serve you. Stay away!

If youre looking for a place where your clothes smell like smoke the next day and your girlfriends ass gets grabbed by some cowardly redneck, then this is the place for you. 3 stars because the staff was present and pleasant, the drink specials are decent and the pool tables & equipment were better than most halls.

Please please avoid this place as much as possible. Stick to places like on Main. Or go to Red Barrons

I love this place for the list part. The little guy that works Sunday 4 to 7.. Is very rude. I spend a lot of money there and just had my tip thrown back at me.. If youre going to go do not go when the little guy with a beard and glasses is working. He is VERY bad for business..

Visiting and found this spot....pretty nice watering hole tvs, pool, a DJ and karaoke. Had a nice time danced a bit but my only issue was smoking is allowed in the establishment. Other than that its a cool spot bc after 9pm theres not much to do in Fredericksburg.

Its a Smokey sports bar. Wasnt a bad place. Seems more like locals place.

I got kicked out of bucs because my pants split open and theyve been watching me all night as I ordered my 3rd drink after being there for 4-5 hours. This place must have been in trouble with the TABC in the past because literally last year they paid me to parade around in their branded underwear all night, and suddenly being a reasonable patron and line dancing to footloose is unacceptable.
