I love the Gauntlet! It is a challenging and beautiful course next to the water. Once the grass on the greens is completely updated (in progress now) it will be even better! I love that the staff and members call you by name, make you feel welcomed and they learn what you like at the 19th hole. I play Thursday night scrambles weekly and hope to join Operation 36 once they get it started to improve my game! If I could find a sitter for my kids and extra time in my schedule I would be there more!

Played a tournament there. Theyre doing excellent in keeping it looking good and maintenance . Seen 1 water snake. On 2nd hole bout 4 years ago I spied an arrow head. My son an I was talking about it, laughing and such. Well I missed another one.

Had a great match today with the PGA Junior league. The course was in pretty good shape, greens were rolling nicely. Congratulations to all the boys and girls that competed.

Nice course design. Realize its late October, but looks like grounds crew quit a month ago, very sloppy, leaves everywhere, greens and traps terrible, glad we only played 9, way overpriced at $37

Contactless driving range, need I say more. Great staff as well. Could say more, dont want to spoil the surprise.

The course layout is awesome. Why cannot you fix your greens. Get rid of the sand base and do them right.

Love all the work that it is going into the Gauntlet. It is our favorite course in the area by far. The staff are always friendly and you are bound to see some wildlife!

Was there for my step daughters wedding and it was wonderful.

Very rough condition. Sand traps are mostly unplayable. The greens are rough and bumpy and do not putt true. Probably will not return to play there.

This course will make you think. You must be willing to hit every club in the bag if you plan to score well here. Lots of risk/reward options from the tee box. Dont expect super fast and smooth greens, this is not an exclusive country club. However the staff will treat you like it is. Great course for the money and you better bring your A game or it will eat you alive.

Used the driving range. This was the first time I have used my golf clubs in over a year due to two surgeries. I met Mike, the course owner, and we had a great conversation. This was the best I have ever hit my driver and hybrids. I felt that it was important to Mike that I was having a good experience. I will definitely be going back to play some golf.

I used the practice range to work with my irons, they dont have a good chipping area with a pin/flag.

This has become my go to golf spot in this area. Augustine is just falling apart, Aquia you get what you pay for, and they are all stuffy for no reason. This course is well kept, challenging, and fun. A little like mini golf on a big scale because you cant see the pin from nearly every hole. Big fan, best deal in the area.

Course is in good shape. Its many dog legs present some distance challenges off of the tee.

Greens were shaggy yet surprisingly fast and true. Fairways and roughs in great shape too. Staff was great and other players were courteous. Had a thoroughly enjoyable 3:30 round.

Course is above average difficulty. Hole 17 in particular is challenging. Fairways were in very good shape as were most greens. The fringe on alot of holes is in poor condition however. Most holes have elevation and a few water holes.

Stop in and play 18 holes. You wont be disappointed with this golf course. Very challenging and the personnel is awesome!

The Gauntlet is back and better than ever. The course is in great shape. The food is outstanding and possibly the best group of people running the course Ive ever come across.

A somewhat challenging course with plenty of elevation changes and blind approaches. Course conditions are good with decent greens and fairways. Several bunkers are unplayable but the worst are marked as ground-under-repair. Still, a worthwhile course if youre visiting Fredericksburg. Decent snack bar, small proshop. Friendly, courteous staff.

Not the best place on the area to play.

I had my wedding there in November. Let me just say that my experience was awesome! The food was great, the place was beautiful. And the staff was very flexible and helpful- especially Kayla. She made the wedding planning process for the venue so easy! I highly recommend anyone having a wedding or special event to have it here.

Nice place to golf, or go into the club house and have a snack, sandwich or drink. The course is in good shape. Course is easy to follow. Greens are medium fast when dry. The course has roing hills and elevated greens. A range finder is recommended. The distances are not marked well. I personally enjoy playing this course. The staff rates 5 stars.

Havent played The Gauntlet in a couple years. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the course in excellent condition! Fairways were very nice and the greens rolled smoothly. They were in the process of putting new sand in the bunkers. This course has come a long way in the last couple years. If you havent played it lately, give it a chance. You will like what you find!

Generally challenging course. Fairway is nice and maintained, greens are in good condition but some of back 9 are in need of great attention. Staffs are very professional and nice.

Best golf course around. Kept up nice, the people in the pro shop and bar area will always treat you good. Love playing here

Greens were not in good shape but that was due to multiple days of incredible amounts of rain on multiple back to back days so not their fault.

This is a tough course but absolutely worth adding to the circuit. Super fun!

The course is pretty challenging, most pins cannot be seen from the tee box. Greens and fairways are in decent shape, but the cart paths are showing their age and can be quite bumpy and uneven.

Overall course conditions were very disappointing. Its kinda like one of those typical courses where the owner has given up and has just let the course go. Bunkers were mud traps, multiple fairways looked to be washed out by rain storms, tee boxes has patchy crab grass all over, fairways had minimal grass to even hit off of. With some serious TLC this course could be really enjoyable.

It is really a shame. Whoever is responsible for the upkeep of the course has dropped the ball! A Dye design that has been let go! Overgrown vegetation, you cant even see the beautiful lake; Tees, fairways and greens all have huge bad spots. It used to be worth paying $75 through the week to play, now I wouldnt pay $25. The golf shop staff were fine, but the course... What a shame!

We have been here for 2 events now...good this time was cool or cold though and I know my niece paid highly for the event.

Normally a nice course, last time I played it was mostly under repair. Seemed to be pricey for the condition the course was in.
