I should point out that the restaurant next to it is how you will enter the museum, and there you can get a drink before seeing the museum after checking out the area nearby (plan on coming here if you drive into Ft Worth for any reason, as most places will be right along side this location.) Its a very intriguing glimpse into a time in retail that seems to forget that Walmart wasnt the first one stop shopping center. I highly recommend looking through the photos and newspapers (advertisements and news articles about the company) and realize that no matter how successful a company is, its days will eventually come to an end, even when they had a business model that wasnt too different from more modern companies (admittedly the subway transport system confuses me still. . . and I wasnt able to get a good idea of how that worked, but I suspect it might have compromised their business with people relying more and more on private transportation instead of public transit, with people increasingly moving to suburban areas.) Also, Ft Worth has been greatly effected with business moving more towards Dallas after the cattle industry relied less upon trains and more on trucks.
Such a fun walk down memory lane. We really enjoyed it.
Interesting stuff.
Really cool small place wish i could have seen the original Leonards
Such a cool piece of history. Worth a visit while grabbing a burger next door!
Employees friendly. Food was outstanding.
Great memories of a place we use to go to as kids.
Cute little historical museum
Great exhibit of Americana. Enjoyable personal tour by the very pleasant great-granddaughter of Mr. Leonard.
Who knew such a cool museum existed?
Interesting Ft. Worth history for free
At first glance you are hesitant to enter but once inside, WOW. The young lady there is so full of knowledge in once was a major store the Ft Worth area. And if you are hungry there is an adjoining restaurant with what I hear has the best burgers!
My friend and I decided to pop into this museum on a whim the day before I left town and man am I glad we did! The staff were quite knowledgeable and answered lots of random questions I had.
Neat history, lots of memorabilia
Awesome piece of Fort Worth history!
