A summer must in Fort Worth. During the past 28 years we have attended Fort Worth Symphony Concerts in the Garden. The venue is gorgeous. The outdoor concerts are performed by the Symphony along with guest artists at the Fort Worth Botanical Garden. The music is fabulous. The gates open up at 6:30pm. The concert begins at 8:pm with all the concerts performed are under the stars with seating on the lawn or at 3 table levels. The Symphony performs a wide variety of programs including pop music. It can very from classical 1812 Overture to a tribute action figures or even Star Wars theme. My favorite program is the 1812 Overture program. The music is classical with an upbeat theme. Patrons can bring a picnic dinner or snacks or preorder from a local grocery store, Central Market. One can bring alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages to the programs. May I suggest a bottle of wine or bottle of sparkling water, and a fruit and cheese plate for 4 on a lawn blanket or at one of the table options. The best is saved for last with a fireworks display to live music. The programs run from First weekend in June thru 4th July weekend. Tickets can be bought online or at the Symphony box office or by phone. You can even prepurchase a parking pass. For those who dont want to make the hike from the parking lot the Symphony provides a complimentary shuttle bus to the location to the concert in the garden. My suggestion when arriving take time to make the walk thru the gardens and take the shuttle when the concert ends. The walk is beautiful. It is best to buy tickets to the more popular programs as soon as the programs are announced. This usually occurs on late April. What a wonderful family excursion.

Ive been listening to music for over six decades now. Ive listened to musicians throughout the world. The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is a diverse group of musicians from around the world and it is second to none. One of the greatest decisions I ever made as an adult was to become a season ticket holder over 30 years ago. If you get an opportunity to enjoy an evening of entertainment, or even better, a season of entertainment, this is most definitely the venue. Bass Hall is an outstanding Music Hall with acoustics fitting for an orchestra of this caliber.

The orchestra is good! The orchestras customer service is very, very bad. Bought two tables for Concerts in the Gardens. It was about $63 a ticket and a little over $500 total plus two parking passes. It ended up pouring rain, and they started the show an hour and a half late, and cut the show time from 2 hours to 45 minutes. They also forced everyone who chose to stay into one enormous line to enter the muddy gardens and were being so rude to the customers- who were soaked and confused about what was happening. After a lengthy public outcry, they decided to offer exchanges for the people who chose not to stay until 9:30pm for the soggy start time. What they didnt tell them is that they were not exchanging them evenly. The $63 table tickets I bought for this show they agreed to exchange for lawn seats next year valued at $25 each. It was stressful, disappointing, and a huge waste of money. I just cant recommend them to anyone unless you are ok with a decent chance of lighting your money on fire.

Why doesnt Ft. Worth merge with Dallas Symphony Orchestra? They could create 1 of the 3 greatest orchestras in the world with the Concergebouw of Amsterdam & Berlin Philharmonic.
