Walking on the board walk along the water was absolutely beautiful. We got to see a few small gators and their dens where they keep their eggs. However, when we left the boardwalk and started the actual trail it was rough. The wild boars there have rutted out alot of the trails. But other then that we enjoyed our adventure.

That’s park need cutting landscape, tree, lawnmower never cut pass two or three years. Map and walking trail not same design get lost and wrong way. Plus number trail pole location wrong direction and missing number. I can’t through block mudding walk on tower for two years. I’m very disappointed I can’t walk through to tower. Need all updates cutting lawnmower, tree going falling apart not safe! I don’t understand state park or city of Fort Pierce project manager never checked inspection. To keep cleaning up updating and block wood on tower. That’s so sadly!

Good little trek. A lot of twists to keep you wondering what is up ahead. Small pond in the beginning you can walk around. Many dead pines that make good roosts. Keep looking up! No bugs today. Mostly shaded, great.

Beautiful walking trails around the whole preserve. The path to the lookout tower was blocked by thick mud so we didnt make it to the tower.

Great place for a short walk, about a 1 mile loop. Bring bug spray as it is generally buggy, especially after it rains.

Great hike, lots of oak hammocks shady trails, can be wet in areas but very worthwhile and a fascinating homestead ruins just off parking lot. Interactive QR code with info about the history of the property. A must visit in St. Lucie County. Check out my photos and check it out for yourself.
