Well shaded trail, sanded path which makes easy the walk. amazing Butterfly garden few feet from trailhead. fantasy overlooks with view to the water way allow watch dolphins, birds and kayakers... some of the overlooks blocked by bushes thought.... since the Gate was open 8 am, I still was in the trail at 11 abut firmnd heat beat me really bad.

Back side of lovers key. It’s a pretty nice trail but there isn’t a whole lot going on outside of what’s in the water and it tends to get pretty stale and hot back there.We did see a mother manatee and her baby coasting through the waterway which was an awesome sight.

This is a beautiful trail! Took us a while because we stopped so many times along the way to enjoy the surrounding plants and wildlife. Although the trail was long, there is a shortcut if you arent feeling up to the whole trail. Highly recommend walking vs biking. You will miss all the turtle!

A hidden gem with winding paths, multiple shaded resting spots and we even were surprised with a dolphin jumping up out of the water right across from the bench we were resting on gazing out over the water! Since this was a more isolated, inner part of the winding canal, we sure werent expecting to see a dolphin, let alone to have up jump up out of the water!!

Beautiful and peaceful

Awesome trail. Lots of cool insects, flowers, plants, lizards. But we didnt see any alligators or manatees. Still a nice trail. Enjoyable day trip

Wonderful coastline trail in a great Florida State Park. Plenty of wildlife to observe and photograph, including Osprey, Gopher Tortoise, Dolphins, Manatee, and Alligators.Kayak rentals can paddle throughout and along side Black Island Trail and Eagle Trail. A must see and visit for coastline, beach, and outdoor recreation on the Gulf Coast.
